  1. Please summarize any problems you're having with the forum here.

    So far I have:

Original Poster tag not working (not sure this has ever worked on this forum)

Rest assured, the "Thread Starter" label/tag was working, which is handy when navigating long multi page threads - its a feature on every other forum that I frequent.

  2.

Thanks you, Yes we had a accident in May and picked up the car at the end of June. Didn't notice any problems till last week when the beeper sounded when backing up. I found a photo I took at the shop, going to call them.

The first thing that came to mind when I saw the photos was that it was very bad amateur install of some cheap third party sensors.

If your insurance covers OEM parts, then make sure that's what the body shop used - it doesn't look like they did.

Just went to look at my 2017 rear sensors and they don't have the protruding rings.

  3. You are comical. Wrong oil weight would not cause that sort of an issue in 9,000 miles. I've been around engines long enough to know that. There is no way. I mean, seriously. If you were in my shoes, you'd feel a similar way. Because you aren't there, don't defend it. Your pontificating on behalf of Ford is ridiculous. Ford has an issue with the 2.7 Eco motor; it's a well known issue across the F150 and Fusion forums. This isn't a "one off" issue. There is no way poor treatment on the part of the prior owner contributed to the issue. Ford had an issue, as outlined in the TSB's, that led to this issue. It's as simple as that. You're making more out of it than is there.

I will not argue with you on a forum. It's ridiculous. Enough...

Wonder why these failures don't appear to plague the Edge.

  4. I use a Fumoto Drain Valve. Open it up, let the oil drain, then close it up. Never had a problem. Used them on my previous Explorers and now my Edge.

Judging from the below, you're not using that Furmoto on a 2.7L Edge.

I ran a make/model/year check and it looks like they do have one for the 2.7.

All they show for the 2.7 is valves with 12mm-1.75 Threads, so they're not actually for the 2.7

Where did you pick this up from?

I'm also keen to hear this, as I didn't know or expect that they have one for the 2.7L

  6. Battery is relatively new, it was changed about 2 years ago if that. My brother-in-law gave it a boost before I took it to the shop, once there when I turned off the vehicle it didn't start again. I'll call the shop and recommend having the battery load tested.

Ask a place like AutoZone to do a load test on the battery - if the battery passes have them check the charging system, and do the same if the battery is replaced.

  7. Hi folks, I need a carfax repot on an edge Iam looking at vin 2FMDK49CX7BA59061.

    $40 on CarFax

When I recently purchased a 2015 vehicle privately the seller paid for the CarFax report.

BTW, most of its impeccable service history done by one particular dealership, was not reported to CarFax - he got copies of each service from this dealership.

I will make a write-up that includes fronts and backs. I may even mount the other one differently as well and show that. But here is the rub, I thought I bought the same ones as a guy on the FB group, but he said his holes lined up!. Mine did not, I will even post those pics as well. So your mileage may very based on what you get!

It is still on my list to add to the H&R Spring install write-up. I'll even add my after install alignment data. (I'll mention that I did drop the complete rear subframe all at once, however it seems I as the only one to do that). I'll also add all the torque specs, those are always handy to have.

    What FB group is that?

Edit: Found the FB group, but not the mud flaps post.

  9. Installed my Chinese mud flaps today and I'm surprised to say that they fit very well! Much better than the OEM ones I had on the front before. I like that they are 3D molded and not just flat rally style flaps. I think they look great. Both front and rear match the body profile about as good as could be, no mismatch or gaps at all. I did have to drill one hole in the rear one because the middle hole location was off a bit, but only on one side which was weird. Also, the lower inner portion of the rears doesn't match quite right, but once installed you can't really notice. I'd recommend them though, especially since this is the best option I've been able to find. For the fronts I used the existing plastic push rivets, but they are the slightly longer ones that came with the OEM flaps, so it's probably a good idea to get some longer 1/4" diameter rivets to account for the thickness of the flaps. For the rears I used the small fender liner screws that are already there. I'm not sure if my flaps are different than NoDTMF's, but my install seems to have gone much smoother, took about an hour. I also did it without removing the wheels so that helped. I can take some more pictures if anyone wants to see, just let me know. I can also post a step by step how-to if anyone wants. (sorry my phone rotates the pics 90 degrees, will fix later)

PS, the eBay seller's name was frederic1313 and he kept me up to date with the shipment via email, took about 3 weeks I think.

That's the same eBay seller that NoDTMF posted.

    Did the holes line up?

I would like to see more photos showing the mounting.

When installing the Ford front mud flaps I had to drill one hole on each side, but the plastic rivets are all through existing holes in the mud flaps.
