Engine wants to stall - Code P1450 & P144A/C - Evap Purge Valve
1004ron replied to shumax's topic in 2017-2018 Edge & MKX
I have an email from my dealership service manager stating that they will scan it for codes and if the evap code is found they will replace the Evap Valve when I go in to get the brake recall done, which I'm still waiting for. -
The answer to that question is directly above your post.

I have some advice to offer you - read the forum rules, specifically the part about personal attacks. No, he was not "dictating his beliefs", he was drawing your attention to laws regulating window tinting, and even provided a link. Refrain from personal attacks on this forum.

Congrats, and Welcome. Please consider adding your ride M/Y and location to your profile signature - https://www.fordedgeforum.com/settings/signature/

You might want to try a better image - impossible to read that even on a large monitor. You don't have an EGR. How's the coolant level ? Get the codes read at Autozone and post them here.

Yes, using Forscan - do a search for Forscan and disable fake engine sound.

2008 Edge stalls and won't restart after turning off
1004ron replied to Laceekay's topic in 2008 Edge & MKX
You didn't mention that. It would most likely be more cost effective to pay a dealership to diagnose it - throwing parts at it typically costs way more in the end. -

Have you tried any diagnostics? Read the stored error codes, ..... Autozone will do that free of charge. -
So its not as you first stated. I guess they could have interlocked it with the hood open switch, but I guess its like the example of not using the windshield washer with the moon roof open.
-
I found another gripe for you - hit the windshield washer with the moon roof open. If your wipers are moving every time the ignition is turned on, even when in the parked/stowed position, then there's a fault which will be addressed under warranty.
-
2.7L V6 isn't really that "tiny". My 2017 Sport is is basically the same, and if driven gentlemanly is gets good mileage, and if I lead foot it its real heavy on gas, which I think is to be expected.
-
Have you considered disabling it - a little research and you'll find it has been done by many. Double honk and a few of the other irritations you mention are relatively easy to disable, not by the dashboard menu because some of them are considered safety features.
-
I'm keen to hear from other ST owners if they experience the same with their wipers - my 2017 Sport does not do that. I can understand it happening if the wipers are moved from the rest position and then ignition is turned on - just something to be aware of and avoid.

@RidinDrty Could you post a link to the ones you bought. I have Ford ones on the front but they don't match the trim contours. I have 20K miles on the Atturo tires and so far happy with them - the only issue is they get flat spots in cold weather which makes them vibrate a little for the first couple of miles. Are you happy with them? -
I think they look good and a little large but that should make them more effective. Could you post a link to the ones you bought. I have Ford ones on the front but they don't match the trim contours. CarFax is not a reliable source for maintenance records, and the only way an independent mechanic can confirm the service history is viewing a paper copy of each service, or if was serviced by Kia then they'll have the record, but you don't need to be a mechanic to review a written service record. The servicing of the moonroof isn't always logged. I bought my Edge new, but other used vehicles I've bought, a verifiable service record needs to be produced before money changes hands. Who was the previous owner and who did you buy it from?
-
You bought a used car, possibly not well maintained. There is some maintenance required for the moonroof - have you checked to see if that's been done.

I installed the same plugs some time back, and they were all gapped correctly at .30 to 0.32 Any good brand 75W140 gear oil is fine.
-
I have just gone and checked my 2017 Sport and the photos posted are most certainly the 2.7L Ecoboost and my belt is installed as per the photo edited by @jmr061 and the same as the diagram posted.
-
Tell us what engine you're dealing with. This is the 2.7 ecoboost section of the forum, so it can be expected that you're discussing the 2.7L V6
-
That means the old belt wasn't installed correctly and possible the wrong belt. Can you post a photo showing the markings on the old belt.
-
Another look at it, and I agree, the photo is not correct. @jmr061 edit of the photo shows how it should be to match the owners manual.
