  1. Bought the car in 2015 with the CEL on, which indicates the previous owner neglected to service it, and then you decided not to service it from that time until now - WOW.
  2. @CivicSi907 Not smart to post the same subject to two threads - now merged with the first thread you started back in 2016.
  3. 43,500 miles which is low for a 5 year old, but way past due on both mileage and time, both impacting on the oil life to different degrees. With that neglect Its to be expected that the camshaft Variable Valve Controls would be totally fouled up causing the reported error code.
  4. I gathered that you were not proficient in English and have no issue with that. So, have you done 5,000 miles in the 5 years its not been serviced, or have you done 300,000 miles in 5 years without a service? Clearly the engine has suffered due to lack of maintenance, but how badly none of us can tell, so again, best find a qualified mechanic that can assess the engine and decide the next steps such as an oil flush and frequent oil and oil filter changes. 5. Not sure what your expectations are here - you chose not to respond to that question when I asked it earlier. The reason behind that question was to ascertain if this could be a case of maintenance neglect, which results in sludge, and sludge doesn't work well with any engine and particularly the Variable Valve Timing controls. Any qualified mechanic will have the skills to assess and diagnose this type of problem.
  6. My personal preference is always a diagnostic approach which in your previous response indicated to me that's not your preferred path, so I have no response to that last question.
  7. That oil meets the minimum requirement - most people here prefer to run full synthetic oil. Does your owners manual call for 5W-20 or 5W-30 ?
  8. Yes, if its only bank 2 Variable Valve Control solenoids that are bad.
  9. 103,451 miles without an oil and oil filter change, .......that's your problem right there. Need more than the error codes read - need to live scan the data - you say you had it at a mechanics shop? - best to find a qualified service shop.
  10. What's the mileage? What oil change intervals, what oil used and what oil filter? This is quite common on poorly serviced vehicles where the sludge causes issues with the camshaft Oil Control Valve (OCV) but someone with a scanner can actually do the required diagnostics to confirm what's actually wrong before throwing more parts at it. 11. Try looking in the 2.7 Ecoboost subsection. The thread title "type of fluid" - Ford has changed the spec from Orange to Yellow. Take a look in your owners manual for the coolant replacement interval - I plan on doing it at around 5 years.

  13. The parts sold on Amazon are sold by Automotive parts dealers, many of them are registered Ford dealerships, so I buy from any place that sells genuine OEM parts at the best price. RockAuto.com isn't always cheaper than Amazon.
  14. I second that - I buy OEM Motorcraft on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Motorcraft-WW2755-Wiper-Blade/dp/B01KHL5ZQU/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3O5P12LIZ8GZK&dchild=1&keywords=motorcraft+ww2755&qid=1606769830&sprefix=WW2755%2Caps%2C179&sr=8-1

  17. Its bugged me since new, and the first vehicle I've had this issue with. I used a can of air to blast them before leaving the car wash and then when I get home I use spray quick detailer to get rid of the water marks down the side of the car. A new car wash opened closer to my home and their air dry nozzles are better so I no longer use the air in a can and just wipe off a few spots when I get home.

  19. I called and this year they'll not be offering the usual 10% discount, only a T-shirt. Use "vinny5" on checkout for a 5% discount.
  20. Welcome. Post a photo so that we know which one you're referring to. Please add your location and Model/Year to your signature - https://www.fordedgeforum.com/settings/signature/
  21. Looks like the previous owner took care of the appearance but not the out of sight servicing - question is what else has suffered from poor servicing. Please add location and Model / Year to your signature - https://www.fordedgeforum.com/settings/signature/
  22. I agree, corrosion - obviously poorly maintained. Please add location and Model / Year to your signature - https://www.fordedgeforum.com/settings/signature/
  23. Found them - Dorman Part # 800-040 They're white, but are a perfect fit. Dorman - OE Solutions 1/2in Universal Fuel Line Retainer 2 Piece https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/b/dorman-oe-solutions-3387/hardware---fasteners-16585/retaining-clips---connectors-25214/hold-down-clips-clamps-19033/115bcf9d8125/dorman-oe-solutions-universal-fuel-line-retainers/800040/4257314 Its unlikely you'll break this clip - because access is awkward to squeeze/press the retainer inwards, I pulled it out and that's when it broke. While I was at it I found using a long nose pliers to squeeze/press the back of the retainer worked best. qd_catalog_dor231625581 - Updated.pdf
  24. When doing a spark plug replacement I broke the release clip on one of the small air Quick Release Couplings and cant find where to buy a replacement. The connector in question is on the air pipe circled in red in the attached image.
