Transmission Flush, or simple drain and fill?1004ron replied to slides's topic in All Wheel Drive (AWD) I added that to show a friend that I got "paid up front", .......by myself. LOL Damn good beer. The rotor laying on the floor is the 8 month old 9K mile Power Stop that started making a growling noise and slight vibration at low speeds - they promptly sent a complete new kit, but will go with solid rotors next time.

Transmission Flush, or simple drain and fill?1004ron replied to slides's topic in All Wheel Drive (AWD) I think I did the transmission drain with it on ramps. Just this past weekend I had it up on stands to rotate tires and replace the front brakes - the position of the floor jack lifts it level.

Yeah, it should be be able to go 78K miles on the original fill, but most here that do their own maintenance change it around half that mileage. I'm keen to see photos of yours to see if it destroyed itself or possible an external impact - there's a few reports of them grenading.

If you believed Ford's claim that the PTU was "lubricated for Life", and have 78K miles on it, then not too unexpected.

Congrats and welcome - I like that colour. The firmness of the suspension is subjective, but I don't feel mine is too firm, and expect the 2015 and 2017 would be the same.

I do as well, and I find the dashboard pressure indication to be accurate and check it at least once a week and if it drops one or two psi, I top it up with my home compressor using an inflater with an accurate gauge.

Transmission Flush, or simple drain and fill?1004ron replied to slides's topic in All Wheel Drive (AWD) Keen to hear if you get more out using the oil extractor through the dipstick vs the drain plug. Most folks use a lot more than 5 quarts to change over a higher percentage of the total volume.

When last was the cabin air filter changed, and do you continuously use recirc?

One on my Edge Sport and one on my wife's Mustang

We're all welcome to express our personal opinions here, but I'm interested to hear your reasoning behind that comment.

Looks aside, myself and others here can confirm that the JLT performs well, which would make it a whole lot better bang for the buck. The two JLT that I have were bought when they had a seasonal special, so think I paid around $135.

Fluttering Noise from Undercarriage and Dashboad Rattle1004ron replied to CCMAYES72's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension @bb56 I can envisage those washers working, and I have some of that foam you described and will give that I try.

Fluttering Noise from Undercarriage and Dashboad Rattle1004ron replied to CCMAYES72's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension Service manager just replied to my email with a copy of the TSB and the below comment - I've replied asking if mine is covered under the ESP. Edit: His reply: Not much is covered under the ESP , extended warranty. Might try the new type fasteners, if my string work-around gets loose.

Fluttering Noise from Undercarriage and Dashboad Rattle1004ron replied to CCMAYES72's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension My comment is based on how tricky it was to get that Retainer Ring fully seated with the shield off the car - as you say, it may have seated and you'll know some time down the road, but then again I used the same kit on mine and its vibrating again.

Tail light Condensation1004ron replied to d0minicano's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers What M/Y ? - is yours still under warranty? Good idea to add that to your account profile. Mine came and went for about 10 days, and haven't seen it again since.

Fluttering Noise from Undercarriage and Dashboad Rattle1004ron replied to CCMAYES72's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension Thanks. Will send a query to my local service manager for warranty cover. Not sure if the below confirms that mine is still covered by the ESP. https://ford.oemdtc.com/3633/underbody-shield-rattle-noise-while-moving-2015-2017-ford-lincoln

Fluttering Noise from Undercarriage and Dashboad Rattle1004ron replied to CCMAYES72's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension OK, looks like item 2 and 4 which is a red plastic anchor with a metal self tapping screw. I can see this being an improvement. Amazon has clearer images of this, and would have to measure the diameter of the large hole in the body metal to see if it can lock in. https://www.amazon.com/Engine-Undertray-Cover-Bottom-Shield/dp/B07B26FNBZ/ref=pd_sbs_263_5/138-3585131-1943450?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07B26FNBZ&pd_rd_r=124286bf-8c92-4054-8be0-2b94153abfcc&pd_rd_w=XiF6X&pd_rd_wg=xirYl&pf_rd_p=7cd8f929-4345-4bf2-a554-7d7588b3dd5f&pf_rd_r=Y4J9M9BMSAGJKDWQ0SN0&psc=1&refRID=Y4J9M9BMSAGJKDWQ0SN0

Fluttering Noise from Undercarriage and Dashboad Rattle1004ron replied to CCMAYES72's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension I'm having difficulty finding the revised part you mentioned - I'd like to compare it to what I installed. I'm at three years and 54K miles - wonder if the extended warranty that I paid $1.9K for will cover this?

Fluttering Noise from Undercarriage and Dashboad Rattle1004ron replied to CCMAYES72's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension Watched you video - my personal opinion is that the flutter will return pretty early using this method. On yours the ring is not locked onto the clip that has the foam washer keeping some compression on it, and this can only be done with it completely removed from the vehicle. The image attached shows the step that is virtually impossible to accomplish without removing the shield from the vehicle.

The only Motorcraft fluid I've used is the transmission Mercon LV I believe my choice of Engine, PTU and RDU fluids are superior to Motorcraft. Changing the transmission filter on these means removal and splitting of the trans, so agree, don't consider that as required maintenance.

2020 edge titanium steering wheel doesn't heat up1004ron replied to Huebie's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim Welcome !!!! My 2017 Sport's wheel gets comfortable in 30 seconds and cosy at 1 min. Never had the need to use gloves. Make arrangements to meet the service manager first thing in the morning and do a comparative test with similar vehicles in their lot - one of the cheap IR temp guns and a stop watch would be handy.
-
Must have a large balcony for the Edge to park on it. Where was the food and how did it get contaminated?
-
The PTU holds almost a quart. Why don't you consider the post directly above yours - a drain plug?

7 Months and 9K mile update. When braking at speeds 40 mph and below there's a faint growl and light vibration which changes as the speed peels off and it comes to a stop - not bad enough to make me want to rush out and buy new brakes. The original rotors were definitely warped based on the lower frequency vibration when braking at speeds 60+ mph, but were smooth at lower speed. My wife's 2015 Mustang with the original solid rotors is smooth at all times, so might go back to solid rotors next time. Edit: Sent an information request to Power Stop and within a day they responded by email and called, offering a new replacement kit.
