2016 Edge Transmission Hard Shifting
ben senise replied to Maverick's topic in Recalls, TSBs & Warranty
i have the same issue in my 2016 3.5 Ti AWD. i posted about it here: i originally wrote that it slams into 2nd gear but now i'm wondering if it's actually 3rd. i have a maintenance coming up in a couple of months which will be just before the expiry of the 3 year factory warranty and i will ask about it then. please be sure to post here if you find out anything more about this. -
auto mode regulates the vents, fan setting, and air temp. auto mode blows hotter air when the cabin temp is much lower than the set temp. as the cabin temp rises, the blown air is reduced to match the set temp. manual mode does not do this. it just blows air at the set temp. don't forget that another way to reduce fogging inside the car windows is to turn on the AC. You can run the AC at warm temperatures as well as cool. The AC removes moisture from the air and increases de-fogging efficiency.

-25? time to put on a sweater! ? i was under the impression that touching any button would turn off the Auto function. the system would take quite a while to get the interior of the car up to 22, hence the fans going full tilt. the auto setting tells the HVAC system to do whatever it takes to get the interior to the desired temp. personally, i would probably set the temp, fan speed, and vents manually under those circumstances. i think that when the system is set on manual to 22 for example, the air blowing out of the vents is at 22. so you could probably set the temp to 26 (or higher?) and set the fan speed to 2. that way you'd get hotter air out of the vents but less flow. all the controls are on the display on the climate tab/page. don't forget that you can talk to sync 3 to set the temp. i don't know if your 2015 has that though.

2017 Fog Lights
ben senise replied to bcultra's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
which bezel are you talking about? i posted some pics of an edge in europe a while back. this is the way i would go if i were to do this. -
I was buying something on amazon and an ad for Philips X-tremeUltinon LED bulbs showed up on the page. just wondering if anyone here has tried them or seen them in action. i put H9 bulbs in my 2016 Edge and got a noticeable improvement. just wondering if these would be better yet. i'm not crazy about going the HID route with the mods that it would require. i know that there are many brands of aftermarket bulbs out there but i'm somewhat hesitant to put my trust in them whereas I think Philips is a reputable company and make a good product. any feedback would be welcome. https://www.philips.ca/c-p/9005XUX2/x-tremeultinon-led-car-headlight-bulb/overview

Comprehensive List of Possible Forscan Mods?
ben senise replied to ben senise's topic in Accessories & Modifications
i have that on my 2016 Ti -
it seems to me that some of you earlier on in this thread are confusing ANC (Active Noise Control) with the enhanced engine sound in sport mode that is supposed to make your car sound sportier by piping fake engine noises into the cabin.

which i believe you can do at https://owner.ford.com

pics or it didn't happen ??? congrats.

thanks Nick, that's what i did but i could only find the philips "standard" bulbs and yes, they were quite inexpensive even on amazon.ca. i might see if i can find some of the higher-end bulbs you mention. i think that guide you linked to is the one i used to determine how to mod the bulbs to fit. i did the change in dec 2017 and so far so good.

ok, thanks. i admit that i didn't click through the link. i should have. thanks for the input. thanks for all of that. i might try to get some of the racing vision that you mention. bulbs seem to be hard to come by here in canada. maybe next time i venture south of the 49th parallel. i'm reluctant to fiddle with HID in the current housings. if i could see the results IRL then i might consider it. at the end of the day, it's not super critical. i'm always looking for the most cost effective solution (with cost including effort as well as money.)

@omar302 are you saying that no mods to wiring, harnesses, etc. are needed? just pull the old ones out, pop the new ones in and all the connectors match up? i can manage the forscan. i bought better (brighter) bulbs and noticed a small improvement. then i got H9 bulbs and noticed a little bit more light again. they were just the standard ones and i was thinking that if i got the brighter bulbs, i would even get more of an improvement. the advantage of this approach is that it's easy and inexpensive and easily reversible. if factory HID lights are easy to install and i can find a pair cheap, then that might be a good solution.

2013 Ford Edge Door Lock/Unlock Problem
ben senise replied to 2013EDG's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
it could be a number of things. it could be the actuator (motor) has died. The wiring to it may be disconnected. the linkage could be broken. can you hear the actuator working when you put your ear on the door? if yes, then it's the linkage. if no, it's one of the first two things all of these will require you to take off the door panel and have a look. it's not that tough of a job if you're used to working on cars. otherwise any mechanic should be able to do it. -

I lived in Europe for nearly 30 years and this brand is quite well known there. I've never owned these tires though. According to Wikipedia, they were bought by an Indian company in 2009.
