I lost the front windshield panel 51916 and front driver side 51968A a few weeks ago, and not had any water leaks. I have since removed the rear driver side 51968B and it was not glued. I have new clips although the old ones look like they could have been reused. I have not had time to reassemble the panels and last night during a very heavy rain, I got some water coming out from the overhead sunglass holder?
Could this be because the panels are missing? Obviously they are not watertight whatsoever, so seems weird.
Does anyone know where the roof drains are? I would hate to put this all back together and then still have a leak.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
For me, it wasn't the seats in the Edge, but the legroom, specifically the foot room. My feet don't rest comfortably up under the dash. Well, mainly my left foot. I have to cock it sideways, and just can't get it right. I have gotten rid of other cars for this very reason. But the rest of the Edge is pretty good, especially for a 2016. It runs great and has plenty of features for me. Especially since I don't really drive it that often. My other vehicle was a F-250, but after I sold my 5th wheel, I really couldn't justify that much truck. I ended up trading it for a '23 Explorer, which has been a great ride. No leg/foot room problems, and really a great driving/riding car.
Yup, guilty as charged; iPhone user. But it doesn't happen in the other forums I frequent. Oh well. As far as the trip, it went well. Car towed the trailer just fine, although it was a tad thirsty... averaged 13.5mpg on the way out (~700 miles). For the return trip, I filled up initially with premium gas and somehow that equated to an average of 14mpg on the way home. With out the trailer, going to the launch site and back to the hotel, it averaged 27mpg. Normally the Flex would have been fueled up once in the middle of the week. The Edge just needed a full tank before I left for home. Not sure I'm sold on the ST seats for a long trip tho...
I have a 14 SEL and was changing the puddle lights. When I was putting the light back in it stopped working. The other side was still working. Put the old back in and it would not light up either. Any thoughts?
Update: I changed my RDU & PTU fluids recently. I was surprised to find the RDU actually had a drain plug. Not all cars do. While I filled it up simply as boostededge said above, I pumped it in using a pressurized device and it actually took the full amount as specified in the manual.
As for the PTU, I sucked the old fluid out using a vacuum device and pumped fluid in using the same pressurized device I used for the RDU, and again, it took the full amount as specified in the manual.
As far as whether or not the PTU has a cooler, I'm wondering if a PTU cooler is installed where original vehicle destination is a dealership in the hotter climates of the country. IE; NorthEast US has colder climates than Arizona so I would expect, maybe, that would be why Arizona would get a PTU cooler and the NorthEast does not. (?)
