    New Edge

Hope that your wife, and you enjoy the new Edge. Have my MKX a year now, and luv it, even after coming out of a V8 Explorer. About the only thing that I miss from the Explorer is the shitty gas mileage it gave me. It's so nice to get out on the highway with the "X", set the cruise, and get 25+ mpg's, and that's with the 3.7 engine. Let us know in a month or two, how you're doing with the Edge.
  5. Hey Mike, Cobgrats on your new Edge, and yes, Ford does build some good stuff. I had 1 foreign cars, was a '87 Accord. Not a bad car, but in 5 years of ownership, went through 3 C.V. boots, not a cheap repair. Knpw you had some previous nice rides, and will be very happy with the Edge. Enjoy ! Joe
  6. There should be a section in the back of the manual, for recomended serving. I've always had trans fluid/filter changed every 60,000 miles on my previous cars (Explorers). Sold my first Explorer ( a 1995 ) to friends for their daughter with 150K on it, she kept it for another 7 years, had well over 200,000K on it, with original engine/trans, etc. Just follow recomendations in the manual.
  7. Enjoy your new ride, how about some pics?
  8. I had a similar problem years ago. Coffee was the culprit. Told dealer it was hard to get out of park, they took it apart, cleaned it, no charge.
  9. Thanks, akirby for your input. My last update 3.2.1, has been pretty good, the only problem that I experienced was last week, for a day and a half, everytime that I started the car, the passengers heated seat would automatically come on, at it's highest setting. I would shut it off, and upon next startup of the car, it would come back on, then the problem dissapeared, go figure !
  10. Have not experienced, or heard of anyone else with this problem. I would suggest taking it to Ford, Should be covered under your 3/36 warranty.
  11. If they won't replace, how about trying your insurance.
  12. So you're saying that when I take my MKX in for an oil change next week, I should not get the update to 3.5 (currently running 3.2) ?
  13. The plastic on the wheels are chrome plated, they will not rust, but will scrape. The tire and wheel option package will cover for a new wheel if it is damaged, and cannot be used, unfortunately, will not replace for cosmetic damage. Seeing that it was a rock in the road that caused this, maybe your insurance will cover it, don't know if it will, but might be worth a shot.
  14. I think that you should investigate further. The steering wheel controls and shift indicator light up on my MKX. I could POSSIBLY see steering wheel controls not being illuminated, but not the shift indicator.
  15. Congrat's on your new Edge, and welcome to the Forum. You don't see too many in your color, looks nice all shined up. Enjoy !
  16. Smart decision, you will be very happy going with it. Even the auto dimming mirror is great ! Joe
  17. I would definately go with the 101A pqackage, unless it puts a big dent in your budget. Dollar for dollar, it's a good deal for all you get. Auto dimming rear view mirror and auto headlamps are great, not to mention the reverse sensing system, and keyless entry. As Edgieguy stated, adds to the resale value, and are options that many would look for. If you break the extra in payments over 4 years, it's not evem $21 more a month.
  18. Okay Andy, maybe it is the fastest colour, but don't ya think that Ingot Silver with charcoal black comes in a close second ?
  19. Damn, I better run my butt over to Advanced Auto. At that price, it's unreal ! Thanks, Joe
  20. Nice looking Edge, enjoy it, and happy motoring. I'm helping the Canadian economy, went out yesterday, and bought a B E (Braber Equipment) generator. The lawnmower/snowblower place that I have gone to for many years, HIGHLY recomended it.
  21. Congrat's on your Edge, and welcome to the Forum, a great place to "hang out". Where about are you in Ohio? Have some close friends in Northfield, Akron, & Burton area's.
  22. Man, sorry for all your problems you are having, Sync in my MKX has been fine. Maybe you should try another dealer, if one is in your area.
  23. I always say, "If I want to talk to someone really intelligent, I talk to myself ". :hysterical2:
  24. I don't see why they wouldn't print out your service history for you. I'll be taking in my "X" for an oil change next week, will ask my service "tech" if this can be done. They (Maplecrest) have been great with everything, and I know that they will give me a straight answer, no B/S.
