Yeah, hood struts sound like a good idea, this rod is a real pain. Wash the car, open the hood to dry everything off, and ya gotta out up the damn support rod.

Wow, they really do look bad. Never saw anything like that. Did you try any typr of wheel cleaner on the market? Zep products has a cleaner out, orange, in color, that you dilute 4 to 1, works pretty good.

Has to be pretty damn hot looking.

Not bad, Oskar27, but I wish it was a little longer. Looks like it could be 8-10 inches longer on each side. I saw a Porsche or Audi on the road a while back with a real nice S/S protector on it. Might do some research on it. Thanks for the post on this one. Joe

I've been looking for a S/S protector for my MKX. The rubber ones from the dealership look kind of flimsy. Guess I'm use to the Heavy Duty one that came standard on my '06 Explorer that I had. Guess I'll keep on searching for one made of S/S !

If one of your dealerships are willing to look in Jersey for a swap, they can call Maplecrest Ford/Lincoln in Union, phone # 908-964-7700. They are about 2 1/2 hrs from the Scranton area. Are you right in Scranton, or the 'burbs? Have a friend over in Hanover Green.

No problems with 3.5.1, have had it about 4 months. If master reset doesn't work, you might want to try and disconnect battery cable, wait a minute, and reconnect. Worth a shot.

Beware of extended warranty's other than Ford. About 4 years ago, my wife's sister bought a used Ford Five Hundred, took an extended warranty through the Ford dealeership she bought the car at, that was not a Ford one, some other company. When the throttle body went, this was not covered, cost her $1,300 for the repair, then a few months later, another repair was not covered, so another $900. These repairs would have been covered under Fords ESP warranty. Original warranty was $1,400, plus the 2 repairs came to $3,600 out the window !

Went to Staples today for some computer related stuff, and a new mouse pad. The mouse pad is black, measures approx 7 3/4 X 8 3/4, and cost only $3.99. Can make quite a few of these rubber mats for the price.

Nice find, and welcome to the forum. Looks like you found yourswelf a real sweet Edge,fantastic ! I had a '06 Explorer (V8), and gas mileage is much better with my MKX.

Super news ! Had a '95 Explorer. sold it in '02 to friends for their daughter, had a few miles under 150K on it. She sold it last year with 235K, still ran great. Your Edge loks to be in real good shape.

Can't wait to see it at the next Autoshow. Looks really sharp.

I think that White Platinum realy looks sharp, and will not show dirt as much as the Mineral Gray. My MKX is Silver Ingot, looks col, and does not show dirt that bad, a lot better than a darker color.

Whatever they did, lets just hope that it works.
