I had a small cut on the backside of my drivers seat in my Explorer, which is leather, and I bought a vinyl / leather repair kit at Pep Boys auto store, included various colors of "repair gook", and a small iron to heat and cure it. Worked well, happy with the results.

Thank god it wasn't a major collision, and the car will be repaired as it should have been in the first place - with them metal on the bumper. I can't believe that they did what they did, but glad it's being taken care of

Best wishes on your new Edge. The black grill, like the sport, should look very sharp. Too bad that Ford doesn't offer the black painted grill as a paint "trim" option, as they did back in the 90's on Explorers- painted option for the running boards and lower panel on the doors. I had a '95 Explorer that was Electric red, and it had a paint option for the lower 1/4 door panel and running boards of grey. Looked sharp !

Had stopped by our dealership ( Maplecrest, Union NJ ), was talking to one of the service reps on this., He said, if done correctly, upgrade should take care of the problems. I Hope that your dealership can resolve your problems. Joe

I've always bought from stock, time to get what I really want, including color.

Had it out in the rain today. Never saw beading action like this, and when driving home, the water just ran right off, pulled in the garage, and it still looks clean. :happy feet:

I've always followed Fords maintenance schedule, trans filter/fluid change every 30,000 miles, and have never had a problem. Back in 2002, sold a friend my 1995 Explorer, with 145,000 miles on it. I always followed the maintenance schedule, and they just sold it with 200,000 + miles on it, with no trans problems, and original engine. All that they did was to keep up with scheduled mainenance.

Found a new product today on the market, Nano Diamond Shield (WWW.NANODIAMONDSHIELD.COM). Checked the website, was impressed with what I saw, went back and bought it. Had recently done a complete claybar/waxing, so I just went over the car with Mothewrs FX, then applied this stuff, the car looks unreal. It's supposed to give 12 months protection, got it at PepBoys for $29.99. Will update on this in a few months.

IF ypo're concerned on price difference between a SE and SEL, have the dsealer give you a lease payment on both cars. The monthly lease payment might not be that much different between the two, give it a shot.

I've used Mothers and Meguires for years, give a great shine, but they only give 2 months or so of good protection. I have been looking into other products, Cquartz nano looks impressive, but I'm wondering if you could still use a carnuba wax on topm of it if you wanted to. Also, Zaino seems to have some good review, along with Klasse all in one Polish, and their seanant glaze. Has anyone used these products? Thanks, Joe

Congrats on your new ride. I've had 14 Fords, 1 MKS, and every one of them has been great. Get a coat of a quakity wax on it for some good protection, you won't regret it, especially with black.

Just wondering if they sell smaller kits, ie - just want to do around the rear license plate area on my wife's MKS. Everytime she closes the trunk, she gets fingerprint smudges on the car.

Had a problem similar to this with my Explorer. There is a shift release mechanism in the console that had gotten gummed up, from too much spray of cleaning solutions mixing up with "dust". Had it replaced, all has been okay for over 2 years.

The best to you with your new Edge. FMC has some great vehicles. Post some pics of your Edge.

Are you running version 2.7 ? Seems to be a big improvement with that.

That's a tough question, as those, along with black, are my favorites. I thinks that the white's look a little sportier, choose your first instinct, and enjoy !
