MFT Overhaul Press Release
JOEHIO replied to phantom9000's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Last week, when I picked up my new MKX, the service rep said that they just got notification that the update will be available in January. So far, no problems with my new set of wheels, but the update is supposed to have friendlier user screens, and much faster ! Joe -
Hey Richy, it is a great wheel brush. Got mine quite a few months ago, at Pep-Boys here in New Jersey. Got my MKX this past Monday, and it too, has the Chrome clad 20s on it. I already put a coat of wax on it and the wheels. Spent some time on each wheel, but I feel that it was worth it. Joe

Edge Limited Adjusting The Angle Of The Headrest
JOEHIO replied to epsanto2's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Got my '12 MKX this past Monday, and the head rests are 4 way adjustable. Up and down, and they have multiple settings for tilt. When you tilt it fully forward, it releases, and goes to the normal straight up and down position. A big improvement over the ones in my wife's 09 MKS. I will check the '12 MKS's, and if those headrests are 4 way adjustable, might order them for the MKS. -
Thanks, loving it so far. So much more comfortable than my '06 Explorer was. Once I learn how to use everything, I'll be okay. Our salesman DID go over everything, but there is just soooo much to learn,

I don't know if they are adjustable in the Edge, but picked up my '12 MKX yesterday, and the front ones are adjustable. Joe

Picked up my '12 MKX today, forgot what it was like to fall in love, last time was when I met my wife. Didn't drive it too much, had a family birthday to go to. So far, I am thrilled with it - technology, features, style, ride, luxury are unreal. It's Ingot silver with black interior, Elite package, 20" Chrome wheels, wood package, and all weather floor mats. Will have to post pics soon. Joe
-
Yeah, I better be careful, WE know how these "Jersey girls" are, right ?
-
Thanks for the observation, PhillyAnt, yes it is a MKX, not MKS. I made the correction. My wife drives the MKS, I'll be driving the MKX. Now we'll have 2 MK's in the household, one "S", and one "X". Your pics look nice, enjoy. Joe

I finally did it - bought a '12 MKX AWD. Getting it on Monday, can't wait. Exterior is Ingot Silver, with black interior. It has the Elite option package, which gives you just about everything and also has the 20" Chrome Clad wheels, the wood package. and all weather floor mats. It just came into the dealership, and is exactly what I would have ordered, so what the heck, saved my wife from having to go out Christmas shopping for me. I guess that now I have to go out and get her something "special", huh ?, but what can I get her when she already has me (ha-ha). :happy feet: One of the mechanics at the dealeership is buying my '06 Explorer Limited, and gave me what I wanted for it. Will post pics when I get it. Joe

Good suggestion, will do. Joe

So sad, My condolences, and I think also from everyone in the forum, to the family. True, live each day to the fulllest, as one never knows what lies ahead. Dingo, sorry for the loss of your neighbor, and akirby, to you also. I know thqat this might seem unusual, but if you want to post a first name of the deceased wife, and an address to send a condolance card, I think many in the forum would send her a card, to show our support to everyone. It will not bring back her husband, but might help with her loss with everyones support. Regards, Joe P.S. I work for a cousins Funeral Home, so I know what support and condolences mean to a family.

Impressive Voice Command for Radio
JOEHIO replied to richy's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
I just want to know one thing - what station did it tune into ??? ( ha-ha) -
Explorers have a option that limits height on the rear liftgate, not available on the Edge or MKX.
-
I'd definately get back to the dealer and have them check it out. You might want to suggest to your service rep to compare yours to another Edge, see how they compare. Most important, make sure that you get a copy of the paperwork from the service department for you records. Joe

Condensation ??
JOEHIO replied to CCL123's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Did you have condensation problems before the rock chip?, or was it still warm when it happened. Never heard of this problem before. Can anyone hep on this? I would try and go to the dealer if the car is fairly new, give it a shot, but don't mention the rock chip. Joe -
The best with your new Edge, and glad you made the switch. Joe

Found a site via Motor Trend (car magazine) WWW.MOTORTREND.COM/BAYTOBEACH Watch all video's, amazing reactions from people, how surprised they are with the MKX. Beat out Mercedes and Lexus !

Hope all goes well. Joe

Is the $1,000 costco discount taken AFTER you negotiated your best deal? We have memberships to Costco and BJ's, wonder if either one is better.

Smart move, in my opinion. Unfortunately, I had the '06 Explorer back to the dealer last week, had some issues, and they were billing Ford Extended warranty $1,200 for repairs. My warranty is up on Dec 13th, really considering being in a Sport or MKX by then. I've probaby saved around $4,000 with the warranty, should have gone with a 7 yr/ 100,000 mile one, like I did with my wife's MKS. Oh well, a new car will make a nice Christmas present, don't you think?

Here's a thought.........................like Edgieguy suggested, try sleeping backwards, with feet near the front seats, but bring the front seats all the way forwards, as close to the dashboard as possible. At least that way, your feet an hang off the air mattress.

You have to go out and get the Sleep Number bed - totally awesome !

Ask A Professional Detailer?
JOEHIO replied to CanuckG35's topic in Appearance - Detailing, Wash & Wax
Use the products you received as a gift, and you'll be in pretty decent shape. May I suggest a good waxing before winter, ie Maguires Ultimate wax ($24.99 at Pep Boys) did a real nice job on a friends car I did with him, don't know how long it will hold up, but the shine is superb, and more slippery than a baby's ass ! The Ultimate Quick Detailer is nice for use after washing the car, adds luster, but not to be used in place of a regular wax. -
