  1. Welcome to the forum, tintdude3, and your 'mods' really look great. Now you gave me a idea to carbon fiber wrap the grill on my MKX, make it one of a kind. Thanks for the idea.
  2. I'd go back to your dealer, this is not normal.
  3. Why not see if your dealer will work with you. Maybe, just maybe, there is a defect with the carpeting.

If you went to your owners manual, THEY DO GIVE INSTRUCTIONS, and if a problem STILL existed, there is a phone number to call. When I got my ipone4s a year+ ago, I had issues, called the number, and the person was very helpful getting my issues resolved. I'd go down to the garage to get the book to see exactly what. it said, but I just had back surgery, so I really don't feel like going down to the garage..
  5. Enjoy your new ride. Can't wait to see the color.
  6. Akirby - Glad a stretch helped you out. Actually, the surgery wasn't that bad, had the staples removed today, 10 days after surgery. Now, I have to take things a bit slow for a while, and no heavy lifting. I'm glad that P/T worked for you. I tried chiropractic, P/T, acupuncture, and message therapy, finally had the MRI, and now it's all history. I just want tom point out to arielc that back issues are not to be taken lightly.
  7. I had a girl 'coast' int the bumper on my MKX, same scenario - her license plate put a hole in my bumper. No easy fix, dealer filled hole, repainted, HER insurance took the bite. I hated for her dad's insurance to get involved, but I wasn't about to drive around my 'mint' MKX with a hole in the back. It's silver ingot, and the hole looked like a bullet hole.
  8. Sorry it got totaled, but you're probably better off-it probably wouldn't be the same. I Hope that you get some decent bucks for it. Careful with the back. I've done chiropractic for MANY years ( 20+ ), and has helped in most instances, EXCEPT for the last time. Had daily pain, kept on going for adjustments, and never got better. Went to a orthopedic doctor, had a MRI, and just a week ago, I was operated for herniated & bulging discs. Thank god I had it checked out, I could have been going, and going for chiropractic adjustments, and have gotten nowhere. Don't mess with the back & spine, it's the central nervous system in there. I wound up going to a neurosurgeon, he did wonders.
  9. WOW, a sad story. I'd raise hell wit that dealership, and report them - sorry bunch of &^# *#_itches !
  10. I just had to post this. I love reading reviews in Motor Trend, Car & Driver etc, on how much better foreign cars are over American cars. I've had American cars, and 1 foreign, and most have been Ford products. Will continue to do so. Usually, towards the end of the article, they will give a review, including regular maintenance costs. Even a Honda CR-V will have routine oil change/tire rotation cost around $75, and in MANY cases, well over $125 ! My friends RX350 costs over $160, while with my MKX, I get 4 years for free ! Even with my wife's '09 MKS, a oil change, tire rotation & 32 multi-point inspection costs $39.95, and I get a complimentary car wash and vacuum ! Thank you Ford Motor Company for keeping my costs down, and a special thanks you to our dealer, MAPLECREST FORD/LINCOLN in Union (Vauxhall), New Jersey. Have been with them almost 6 years, and very happy, especially with their service department. !
  11. Hey Chris, Welcome to the forum, and the best with byour new Edge, Looks sweet, and love the color (I have same on my "x"). By the way, nothing wrong with being a smart-ass.
  12. My dealership is Maplecrest Ford/Lincoln, in Union, New Jersey. A great place, top notch sales/service/and people. They treat you like family, as a matter of fact better than family.
  13. 12EdgeSport. Cngrats, and welcome to the Forum. I have a '12 MKX, loving it more each day. The 3.7 is awesome. You'll love yours more and more, too ! Keep us posted. Joe
  14. OMG, with those miles, you could have driven to Europe !
  15. Congrat's on your Edge, your FIRST Ford, but not your last. Suede white ones really look nice. The Rogue is nice, but you're absolutely right - outshines the Rogue in every respect.
  16. I was talking to our salesman last week on the new MKC, he said it is a little lower, wider, and longer than the Escape. The interior is supposed to be more luxurious, too
  17. I've got my '12 MKX, will keep it for a while, only 22,000 miles on it. Will be looking into a replacement for my wife's WONDERFUL '09 MKS. She loves it, does not want to give it up, but 1 1/2 more years on the extended warranty, and things can get costly without it.
  18. Sorry to read that some of you out there are so ANTI American (especially Ford). My '12 MKX has been great, and ditto for my wife's '09 MKS. WWWperfznow, sorry you feel the way you do. We had 2 foreign cars - a Subaru & a Accord. Decent cars, but far from trouble free. Been doing Fords since 1992, now Lincolns, and been very happy with both, and doing it the American Way. True, foreign cars are now manufactured in the states, but who reaps the rewards- NOT US !
  19. I've had hardly any speech recognition problems with my MKX, unless I talk too fast, or say a address number as 'three fourty five' when I should say 'three four five'
  20. I have my '12 MKX a little over 2 years, and really love it. Looked at the Edge, liked it a lot, but wanted heated and cooled seats, Power tilt n telescoping wheel, and a few other diddies. It does ride quieter than the Edge. A neighbor has a '12 Edge, and said that my MKX is much quieter and smoother. The Edge is really nice, but the "X" is just that much nicer. Either way, you can't go wrong.
  21. Are you from NJ? Maplecrest Ford/Lincoln has been great. If you are from NJ, call there, ask for Ray Shuta, and tell them Joe the Polak sent you.
  22. How could you give up a face like his? So cute !
  23. When I wash the car, I use Meguiars or Mothers car wash, and I also use it on the rims. Usually twice a year, I'll wax the rims, using Meguiars cleaner wax. Seems to hold up pretty well. As RJG posted, I would not use any spray on wheel cleaners on the wheels. They may be too strong, and cause permanent spot marks, that will not come off. If you feel that you need to use a wheel cleaner, I would go to your Ford dealer, and check with parts dept, see what they have in stock for you to buy. For added protection, after doing the wheels with Meguiars cleaner/wax, I use Collinite 845 wax, one of the best out there. Did our cars, unbelievable results !
