  1. Congrat's on the new Edge, looks sweet. I prefer to refer to the vista/panoramic roof as a BAMR - Big Ass Moon Roof !
  2. I entered a post back in last fall, regarding Dr Color Chip, and stated how satisfied I was with the results. As a matter of fact, tonight, after supper, I just showed a neighbor what great results it gave, and he was amazed. To everyone out there, go for it !
  3. twenty seconds 0 - 60 not bad (ha-ha). Before the '79, I had a '74 Cutlass Supreme. 350 with a 4 barrel. Moved nicely, and just loved gas. Regardless, it was sweet.
  4. I've never had to use any type of headlight restoration, and I have kept cars for as ling as 9 years, but that car had glass headlight ('79 Olds Cutlass Supreme Brougham). Had a '95 Explorer for 7 years, headlights looked new the day I sold it, All I did was wax the headlights every time I waxed the car.
  5. I have not experienced what you have at all, I would suggest a visit to the dealer. Let us know how you make out.
  6. What kind of insulation are they going to wrap around it ? Never heard of anything being done like that before. My concern would be, if this is what has to be done to correct the problem, why wasn't the car originally built this way. They are not resolving your original problem, they are just putting a BIG Band-Aid on it ! From what you described, to me, it sounds that there is a problem with the exhaust system, possibly it should be replaced ???
  7. First of all, call your insurance company, then take it to a shop, and have them do it. I guess you could attempt it yourself, I wouldn't.
  8. Dingo. Couldn't have said it better, kudos to you ! This is something people overlook.
  9. Many moons & cars ago, I had Coopers, and they were great, Sold the car before I had to replace the tires. About 100 years ago (lol), I bought off brand tires at a Firestone dealer. They were 'Pennsylvania Turnpike Fat Cat Avante Guard' tires. All that lettering was on the sidewall of the tire, in black. Num nuts here, wanted white lettering, so I sat there for hours, doing all the lettering with white paint. I must have been nuts, and by the way, they were a decent tire.
  10. I use my Husqvarna backpack blower on the cars, works really well, but for door jams, trunk & hood openings, I do the old fashioned method, and wipe down with a microfiber rag, ya know the ones that area about 12 X 12. Also use it on the wheels to wipe down my nuts.
  11. Can anyone help Denzel2013 out ?

Too bad I wasn't there in my Ingot Silver. A very rare shot you captured. Don't see that man y "X's" on the road, never mind 2 right in front of you.
  13. Welcome tom the Forum, and you will most likely get answers, but you have to post questions.
  14. Like Dingo said, batteries are covered under warranty. Years ago, I had the battery go on my wife's MKS, the car was less than 2 years old, now here we are, 3 years down the road on the second battery, and all is fine. I don't know if a Sport will be faster than a Limited, some people on the forum say that the Sport is actually slower, due to the weight added by the 22" wheels. Hey Dingo, can you give some input on this. I have the 3.7 in my MKX, moves along nicely, and I have the 20" wheels on it. It's not a rocketship, but can get up and go. I think my wife's '09 MKS is faster than my "X", don't know for sure, she refuses to race me.
  15. Congrat's on the Edge, and welcome to the forum.
  16. Didn't get adaptive cruise, and after last weeks trip to Cleveland and back, kind of wish I had it. Some people can't drive at 1 speed if their life depended on it.
  17. Yes, I too, still buy cd's (where else is a guy going to get good Polka bands :hyper: ), and still spin tunes on my turntable.
  18. Super cool, enjoy the Edge. What did you do with the Ranger, and where R U located. I would love to find a old Ranger that runs decent, and isn't falling apart, for a Home Depot hauler, etc. Do yourself a favor, and get a good coat of Collinite 845 wax on it, as soon as you get it.
  19. Yup, if I were you I would clean up your nuts. On my MKX, there are plastic covers that cover the seat brackets. I guess you could order the parts from a Lincoln dealer and put them on.
  20. Your Edge looks awesome in red, congrats on your purchase. Where about in Ohio do you live. Heading out to Strongsville (Clev suburb) next week. Joe
  21. I don't know what to tell you about the extended warranty. Some people say that it is a waste of money if you get one, but all I can tell you is that duringthe last year that I owned my '06 Explorer Ltd, there were numerous repairs that were covered under the extended warranty, to the tune of over $4,000. It's kind of like term life insurance, damned if ya do, damned if ya don't !
  22. Hi Sean, Welcome to the Forum, it's a nice place to spend some time. Congrats on your Edge, front end looks sweet without the license place holder. You're lucky to live in a state where front plates aren'tm required. Wish Jersey didn't require them. Joe
  23. Personally, I find the gels too sticky. Lucas is water based, no petroleum in it, so tires do not discolor/ Bought the new product, WIPE NEW you see advertised on T.V. at Walmart last week. Put it on the lower trim on my wife's MKS, the shit really works. Made the grey cladding a lot darker/richer in color. Now the true test is to see how long it holds up, manufacturer claims 2 years, we'll see.
  24. Thanks Richy & Andy, just convinced me not to switch. Did the wifes MKS with durogloss mixes ( I call them love potion's) and Collinite, the metallics in the Cinnamon colour are awesome. Looks better than when it was new, and it will be 5 years old (omg, time to buy her a new one???).
  25. Have no such problem with my "X". Might want the dealer to check it out for you.
