No driver climate option on right 4.2¨ display
akirby replied to Damir Čolak's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
That's not how it works. When you're in Auto mode the temperature is not the temperature of the air coming out it's the temperature you want it to maintain and the car decides whether you need hot or cold air and how hard to blow the fans. When you have it set to 73 the temp of the air coming out is much colder - probably around 45 degrees, not 73. If I have it set to 73 and I get in the car on a 94 degree day, it will immediately blow cold air at high fan speed. If I push the temp up to 82 it still blows cold air but the fan speed slows down. If you want absolute control over the fan speed then just set the temp and leave it alone and just adjust the fan speed. You don't need to keep changing both. -
Does it work on the passenger side or on the read driver's door? Could be a bad sensor.

Trailer wiring harness help

I doubt it but not 100% sure. Go to etrailer.com and check the part numbers for both model years from the same mfr - that will tell you. -

As an example - if I get in my car and it's hot outside and I have it set to 72 the fans come on at max speed. If I need to make a phone call I just raise the temp to 80 and the fan speed slows down and it's less noisy. When I'm done I put it back to 72 or 74. -

It makes perfect sense. Perhaps you don't understand how auto climate control works. When in auto mode you set the temperature that you want and it controls the temp and fan speed. As you get closer to your set temp it slows down the fans. If you're at the set temperature the fans are either off or on very low. Try it - put it on auto and adjust the temp up and down and see what happens. -

If I want to reduce the fan speed I just increase the temp (in summer) and vice versa in winter. I never have to adjust the fan speed manually. And if you are adjusting the fan speed manually then you don't need to change the temp - just set the temp on 65 and manage the fan speed manually. They didn't remove it for no reason. Having 3 ways to do the same function is confusing. -

Why are you using the fan speed buttons? You don't need to change the fan speed - just the temp control in automatic mode. -

If you can leave the right hand screen on climate control then it is easier to use the steering wheel button to change it - that's what I do. But it's not a big deal either way. -

Oh please - it's no more dangerous than anything else you do in the vehicle. You glance at the center stack to find the temp button, then you glance at the temp as you change it. Not dangerous and certainly not any worse than old manual systems. -
I don't think Motorcraft even makes windshield washer fluid but the spec for my MKX is WSS-M14P19-A. But all the folks telling you to go to Walmart or any auto parts store are correct - the brand doesn't matter.

Had a 2008 with a vista roof for 6 years with no complaints.

Don't you have temp +/- buttons on the center console? I know what you mean - that's how I adjust temp on my 2013 Fusion. But with the hard buttons on the center stack it's not a big deal. -
1 - yes you can go back and forth from s to d to s at any speed. 2 - yes but it's not really necessary.

Semantics but it's more appropriate to say they're advancing timing on the 93 tune.

2013 Ford Edge Limited - Towing advice needed
akirby replied to Vanyel1970's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
They won't fit together - it's very very tight. Did you use the supplied wires to pull the bolts out? I did have to remove the bumper but that was only two screws and about 90 seconds on the 2016 MKX. -
$10k Is perfectly fine even with the factory synthetic blend. If you drive in less than optimal conditions the intelligent oil life monitor will reduce that interval to as low as 5K. Modern turbocharged engines are much different than the ones from the 80s.

It's very very difficult if not impossible to siphon gas or add foreign objects to the tank. Therefore there isn't much need for extra security or the extra cost to add such a system. If it bothers you locking plugs are available which is a much cheaper solution.

Yes there is an auto-shut-off if the vehicle is idling in park. Fusion is 30 minutes. You can turn it off but it resets when the vehicle restarts. That works with or without a fob in the vehicle. I thought the question was if the person with the key walked away and left someone else driving. In that case they can drive all day until they shut it off for more than 10 or 20 seconds.

That's why it beeps the horn twice to let you know you just left with the only key. And it shows a message in the message center. It won't turn off and it still allows you to do a fast restart as Waldo confirmed. So if you somehow didn't hear the honks or see the message and you got to your destination it gives you a chance to restart the car without the fob so you're not stranded.

Also - see if changing the outside vent to recirculate makes a difference. If so then it's in the fresh air intake.

2013 Ford Edge Limited - Towing advice needed
akirby replied to Vanyel1970's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
They didn't fit through the hole in the frame rail? Did you fish the flat piece first by itself, then the bolt? I've done 2 of these on an escape and 2016 MKX and had no problems fishing the carriage bolts with the supplied wire. -
What is the issue with accessory mode? You don't have to use it to turn on the stereo - just hit the stereo power button. Not sure what you mean about the key. You can't start the car if the key is outside the vehicle.
