  1. If you get a better stereo (like the Revel system) you'll see how bad Sirius sounds and you won't want to listen to any stations. I never thought there was a big difference between Sirius and mp3s with the Sony system. But with the Revel system it's very noticeable. I still listen to a few stations.
  2. If the coupon was in the system at the time you took delivery it should have showed up in Vincent. It won't hurt to ask but don't be surprised if they can't honor it. I got my coupon via email within 7 days - not sure if that was from the brochure request or because I was registered on fordowner.com or both.
  3. I only listen to 6 Sirius stations but I understand your point. It would be relatively easy to make 12 or 18 or 24 or 36 presets.
  4. Look for remote start settings in the left hand menu and a start button on the remote ( a circular arrow with the number 2 ).
  5. It depends a lot on your roads. Around Atlanta I've never found 20" or 21" wheels to be harsh at all, but YMMV.
  6. You can see the keys hanging in the ignition. Keyless entry means the keypad. Keyless start in this case probably means remote start. Definitely misleading - whether it was intentional or not is anybody's guess.
  7. It's actually the opposite - at higher altitudes you need lower octane so 87 is fine. If all you have is L and no select shift you can shift to L at any time - the computer won't do anything that's harmful. You may still have to use the brakes a little. Just don't stay on them for a long time without getting off them for a bit to let them cool down.
  8. That's why you should always RTFM at least once either before or just after you get a new vehicle. How else would you find out about new features? Do you know how to start the vehicle if the battery in the fob fails? Do you know how to put the vehicle in Neutral when the battery is dead?
  9. With such a small load the top gear may not matter too much on flat roads. You just don't want to lug the engine with a load on it. Without a tow/haul button you would use selectshift to keep the vehicle in 4th or 5th gear depending on speed and load. Especially if you're encountering a lot of hills.
  10. Ford's only obligation at this point is to get the leak fixed and to ensure it hasn't caused other damage. In this case I would say a 100K mile extended warranty to cover any future repairs would be appropriate compensation in addition to one or two months payments. I understand your frustration and don't blame you for wanting a new vehicle. The reason Ford doesn't want to do a buyback is that this type of problem should be easily fixed by the dealer with one or two visits at most. If that fails they may offer a buyback or force you to do a lemon law. Either way I hope you get it fixed.
  11. Ford doesn't charge anything. The dealer charges whatever they want to charge so shop around.
  12. Why don't you set the opening height to a lower position?
  13. Is it dropping in and out of HD mode? It can do that if the signal is marginal and it does make a noticeable audio change.
  14. That's not a bug - that's human error.
  15. Same as a repair - if you're under warranty it's free otherwise you have to pay for it. In the case of a software update it's just labor.
  16. It has to be for the alarm because it doesn't prevent you from opening the front doors.
  17. They are standing behind the vehicle - they're still trying to repair it and are offering compensation (probably one or two months of payments). They're just not doing what you want them to do. Sounds like the dealer doesn't know how to fix it properly and there isn't much Ford can directly do about that unfortunately.
  18. They're no worse than other mfrs. Ford does go above and beyond on some things including buy backs and 100K extended warranties they're just not consistent. And it gets compounded when you have incompetent dealers.
  19. Prevents a thief from breaking the window and using the unlock button to disable the alarm.
  20. A TSB is nothing more than a repair guide - has nothing to do with whether it's covered by either the factory or an extended warranty in most cases. What seems to have happened is Ford issued a TSB and extended the warranty. The strange part is the "mileage deduction" - never heard of that on a repair. Either it's covered or it's not. Very suspicious of you ask me.
  21. No - you can always open the front doors with the inside door handle even if they're locked. You may have to pull the handle twice and it may set off the alarm but you would not be locked in.
  22. I really wish Ford would be more proactive buying back vehicles. They can repair them and sell them at auction just like lease returns so they won't lose much money and they'd have a lot more happy customers.
  23. I use it all the time. I hate having to dig in my pocket for the remote.
