  1. I'd be curious to hear more. A different report then one we see? To me the one we see is almost meaningless. What have you sent & how? I know one of my "lowering my rate" items has been based on miles driven & have be able to provide an oil change or tire rotation invoice-even if $0 just to provide a 3rd party document to show avg. miles based on the time difference listed on invoices.
  2. "send to sync" for nav is a key part that is lost... Turn by turn is in services & in the other free number so that stays same BUT The download address into nav & then let nav calc & have map display & turns & recalc etc is what is missed. The Vehicle health report & have found over the past 3 years has done nothing for me & been just a "drive you to ford website" ploy & then see the coupons or non coupons ( just adds) for dealer services.
  3. YES ...the phone-in "Services" is what goes away. The 888-240-4529 or the 800-304-6099. and yes "send to sync" for nav is a part of that. $60 -Ford & INSANE $199 for Lincoln owners- with no other options. Yes 888-247-2425 is commercial free & has the IDENTICAL reports, reporters, & most if not all of the Services for news, sports, weather, etc & does movies, horoscopes, business search, etc.. You can set up favorites...( I guess it is tied to caller id) since & just said fav & it asked would you like this as a fav & I replied yes... Wish FORD would listen to customers & not charge $199. A simple Google search is much better than their operator assist. Shame the phone contact addresses do not go into nav- even though the feature is in MFT. It is due to many phones having a country code & Ford after 3 years not fixing the fields. I guess they hope they get the $199 from some suckers...
  4. richy.... Curious...when does your 3 yr included Sync "Services" run out? Cause at the new $199 only option was wondering if many would not renew... Was to be $60 but Ford got "cute" on us Lincoln owners... The free 888-247-2425 is a nice FREE option but I do like the "send to Sync" feature - especially when the contact addresses won't go to the nav. due to Ford error with the country field...
  5. Maybe a trip back to the dealer to get the full demo ? You did pay a LOT for a new vehicle... But yep SYNC SERVICES ( the pd service that you may have free for a term) offers a call in feature that downloads turn by turn but is not a full nav with maps & auto route corrections. Can use a smart phone nav & the audio can come through car via Blue tooth.... a walmart, target, or best buy $99 special garmin or tom tom might be another option...
  6. Many wait & let lapse & then if like radio renew for the 5 or 6 mths for $25 deal that they ALWAYS do. They also will do 1/2 price for radio if agree for year. I have seen posts of ALL IN for radio & internet including taxes & fees $90-100 for year. Yes you can get just traffic or travel info or both & not due music. Music- do you like what they offer- will portability on a smart phone, tablet, or pc add value for you ? Does it do any better than Pandora, iheart, stitcher, etc? Those might be the questions.
  7. predgegirl.... One option that worked on other version installs in past was to do a "master reset" first. Then try to install update. You will may loose any personally stored data like any navigation favorites but it has helped with the error "The installation has run out of space" in the past. Another...If you are able to download to a USB flash why not take to dealer? Not sure how it works outside US but Ford's paperwork did state DEALERS can do for you if you so choose to not self install. Someone either here on or on focus fanatics posted the Ford letter sent to dealerships. another - reboot the system 1st then try install. Us etghe delayed reboot app or pull out the sync fuse or disconnect the battery to achieve the forced reboot.
  8. WOW!! Ford snuck one in there on 3.6. All my complaining & others does have some merit. HD radio on/off selection is NOW SEPERATE & independent for FM and AM . NICE!! Not station specific but hey- step in right direction. Lets see over the years : complained about home screen temp being removed, artist & song title being removed , fan speed indicator being removed , & all three have returned in the future releases... They fixed with out admitting it was broken: the text to speech ringer for phone & text message... BUT they removed & have not returned: DST on/off selector, Lat/Long direct input in nav, the 3D carasel of music picture albums, 3 step zoom on backup camera, home screen wallpaper w/o any text overlay, Never fixed the count up to nowhere USB counter ...the phone book addresses being able to be successfully sent to nav ( the county code messed it up), sending of text messages, the import of pictures for caller id,

  10. I have used this procedure that was posted by copernicium112: To get incoming Texting to work on iphone: It is important to see show notifications. If you do not see "Show Notifications" under your Sync options on the phone try this: 1) Delete your phone from the car. Delete Sync from your phone. Wait a minute to make sure everything clears. 2) Turn the phone off and on again. You don't need to reboot the phone but make sure it is physically off and then on (not just lock and unlock). Turn the car off and then on again. 3) Pair your phone fresh w/MFT. Let it do its thing (phonebook loading, voicemail #, 911 assist, etc.). 4) On your phone, turn BT off. Turn it on again. 5) Hit "connect" on the MFT screen to reconnect BT. 6) On phone Go into the settings screen, Bluetooth, Sync., & press the blue arrow icon You should now see "Show Notifications". 7) Set Notifications to "On" on phone 8) Back up a screen on the phone and turn BT off again. Turn it back on. 9) Hit "connect" on the MFT screen again to reconnect to BT. Have someone send a test message.
  11. Oh how true.....Ha Ha... The Ford destination app works -just like linc app Thank you. Oh wait... On Lincoln app- it has a parking meter reminder & a vehicle finder - wooooo. And the UTIILAZIATION rate for those operator assists ----what 1% use & they charge $199 for all.... What a nice gimmick!!!
  12. Interesting... The world is going one direction- BIGGER- & Ford may not be moving fast enough... Question - But a Back up HD like the WD or Seagate's can be formatted in FAT 32- the 500GB, 1TB or 2TB types?
  13. Glad you got it to work. I just Received an incoming text message on way in to work from wife. Got the "voice name" announce ( broken 3.5-fixed in 3.6), listened to it, pressed the bottom button on iPhone to activate Siri and said "reply to text".. Composed it & Siri read it back & asked should I send & I said yes. All with eyes on road & hands on wheel. Maybe MFT will let you reply but in mean time...alt solution works.
  14. Sync services is $60 for Ford vehicles but $199 for Lincoln. I just did an online chat to confirm. I asked about a la cart prices & was told NO Please wait for a SYNC Agent to respond. Mia says: Hello. My name is Mia how can I help you? Customer says: Sync Services- How much is it for a Lincoln owner? Mia says: The cost is $199. Customer says: Is there any option to go al la cart? Mia says: Sorry no there isn't. Customer says: The service was free for 3 years & was to be $60. Ford owners are $60 Mia says: Yes the service is $ 60 for the ford vehicles equipped with MyFordTouch. Customer says: Will the mobile apps -either ford destinations or Lincoln mobile still work when the 3 yr. complimentary subscription ends? Mia says: No, you need an active subsciption to use SYNC destinations Customer says: How do I register a complaint about the $199 price for me when everyone else is $60.   15. bce Thanks for keeping me sane! Good catch. Sometimes when you want something to work you may overlook the obvious. Opps. Proves the help a forum can be to get others to review as well before you jump in the deep end. Yes- need to call "services" to get the destination to car built in nav. Darn. I guess app offers Additional options if you do not want to use the "map" feature of Ford's destinations mobile app or Lincoln mobile app. You can use google maps on phone or the apple map on phone & then send that to sync services. Maybe that convenience is worth the $4 to open up the additionally options. But alas....I agree.... The "Sync Services" "send to sync" is a feature I do like & use but not worth $199. And Ford is only packaging it as a $199 option to Lincoln owners. We have no ability of "a la cart" pricing. There are no levels of service- all or nothing. The operator assist- When they fail to find what you are looking for & state they CAN NOT use a simple google search- seems to be more like a listing lookup of "pd" merchants in those cases. So I would then have to pull to side of road & do a simple google search myself-so why pay for their services ? Oh well if anyone finds a better way to accomplish the destinations ...I am ears...Thanks all
  16. good point I am now confused. Am I on to something or does this app almost dup people into getting when as a Ford/Lincoln owner we already have a free app. Too late tonight- I'll need to rethink tomorrow,. The purpose is I like sending destinations to vehicle- via mobile app or from MapQuest. Is there away to still accomplish when sync services subscription expires- IE I will not pay $199 as a Lincoln owner to renew- That is just insane price in my opinion
  17. I tested the "send to car" compatibility app for iphone. It worked with 3.6. A destination was successfully sent from app to the built in nav. So ...looks like the full app ~$4 when paired with the "Free" other "services" # 888-247-2425 is a nice alternative to Sync Services. Especially when it is time to renew at $60 or $199 depending on vehicle. Or now if you are the Spouse's cell since Services only works with 1 cell at at time. Thanks to -I forget which poster - mentioned it in their thread.

  19. Update: big thanks to copernicum112 for hanging in there and testing the delayed reboot app. The fact that he Got it working is fantastic. I updated to 3.6. The direct reboot app also works successfully. I did notice only 15 of my nav faves stored. But some other ones were in the previous destinations and I was able to save them. I was able to "send to sync" via the mobile app Successfully. Text to speech ringer for phone and text message worked successfully. iPhone text message received works successfully. The command play text message or play text message two work successfully. My 32 GB USB indexed fast and successfully. Radio information on the home screen is finally appreciated. Observations of others were also noted with the keyboard in all caps for the nav favorites, Backup camera settings combined for grid display, etc. Anymore observations I will post later. BT audio stream via iphone 4s went smooth. Same as before ..no album art but Song/Artist info . USB either from a flash drive or iphone connected via usb still has the counter up to nowhere on the entertainment screen. It is not on home screen. Entertainment zone-Space above presets- home screen- Flashes the Sirius ch logo or FM number & then displays artist & song title. NICE! The other screens- phone, climate, nav.- STILL only show song- not artist-in the bottom left line. The Nav map change to entertainment still leaves the street name blank in upper right line. Need to jump away & back to get a refresh. As stated on home screen can press in an open area in quadrant to jump to that zone & not just on the other lines. Wallpaper added back nicely. When open door Lincoln Logo on touch screen now lights up & does its movement.

Shame they do not pair it with another service Like come in for oil change & get the sync update thrown in or the 19.99 oil change can be upgrade to 39.99 "the works" & in addition to the more BS than anything else of "checking" your fluids & inspecting belts do the sync update at nominal charge. I duno but walmart washer fluid at $1.29 & last a while - I do not need dealer for that one... My vehicle is MLT but wife's is 1st gen sync & we choose not to upgrade years ago - when -at the time the adds were for $99 to add 911 assist & VHR. BUt we do use the dealer for the $17.76 oil change ~still under $20 after tax & fees.

  23. Or for ford call 800 number - open a case file & use a regional rep. Be persistent. Use several examples & back up your position. On several occasions they have been unwilling to FIX the problems but pushed the "send me a receipt" & we will reimburse you to make you go away.
  24. Why do you always use sarcasm? if my kid could use the ipad & get internet while parents are driving the long summer trips then useful.... but since can not.... After 3 years if a feature is not used or popular get rid of it...oh wait that was your reply more or less to the direct input of Lat/Long in nav- cause they need resources to improve overall system performance... So why not remove the broken wifi for that extra resource? I give back or add a nice value added feature.
  25. when the nav voice is speaking that is when to raise the vol button & it then raises current item-nav voice vs say the radio.
