  1. Off we go to replace a camera! First off, open your tailgate and then disconnect your battery. The first 4 screws you'll remove are on the tailgate handle recesses. Regular Philips head screws. AFter you have these removed and set aside, slowly pry off the interior tailgate cover. It has several press in clips seen here colored white. Once you're inside the tailgate again look into the holes below the bottom of the glass. I tried to mark it on this picture. A 7/16" socket on an extension will take them out. Don't forget to unclip the wire that you can trace through the tailgate when you begin removing it. On either side there is a plastic press through clip. Squeeze the ends closed from the inside, as you removed the outer tailgate garnish.
  2. These plugs at 75K miles have seen better days. When I was all done, I decided to detail the engine bay...Then change the oil.
  3. I've been on owners groups and different forums since 1995. Even though my Dad made me a DIY'er, Sometimes I still get stuck for a lack of confidence. My spark plug project was one of these. I'm thankful for all the contributors on forums, but for this project I'm especially thankful for @WWWPerfA_ZN0W. Thanks for the vote of confidence, it took a few months, but last week I had had enough of my procrastinating and stopped at Advanced Auto for some MAF cleaner. It took a while I know...But I got it done. Originally, I just purchased some MAF cleaner and planned to just spray out the module. I was soon washing the air box, and cleaning oil out of the air snorkel. I wound up disconnecting and cleaning the throttle body after that. Since I was so far in, I decided to start the plugs. Fronts went quick, the rears not so much...
  4. That would be a shame. When I asked Avlis-Co if this was in fact OEM Ford or if they manufactured for Ford I was told "This Camera is Manufactured by OEM Ford Motor Company and marked with P/N GJ5T-19G490-AD" I guess even as a last resort I'd rather have a functioning reverse camera instead of no camera at all.
  5. I had wrinkles and what seemed like a delamination of my steering wheel leather on my 2011 Sport. Not as bad as what you have pictured, I showed my dealer immediately as the car was only a few months old. Ford said they would do nothing. Its leather, natural material, variations, wrinkles, blah blah blah. I hate it, but short of new wheel entirely, there was nothing I could do. Some dealers will bend over backwards to help and some dont give a crap. My dealer was the latter.
  6. So I guess I'll tackle replacing the non working / sporadic working back up camera in our 2011 Sport. I hate when stuff doesn't work right... Ive decided to use this camera from Amazon http://a.co/d/4lCEe0m, mainly because of the return option. I do want my gridlines (See above statement about things not working correctly) SO.... whats my best option for an OBDII reader to get in there and reprogram this thing? Is there one that we know works better than another? I've searched through our links but cant find the answer I'm looking for... Appreciate the help. Maybe i'll post a photo documented DIY while doing it since this is a reoccurring topic.
  7. So who wants to contact them regarding these malfunctioning rear cameras?
  8. My camera has been failing completely in my 2011 Sport. Sometimes its upside down, sometimes its fine, sometimes it never comes on. Does the camera itself have electronics on it? Is it possibly a connection / contact problem?
  9. @WWWPerfA_ZN0W, Good stuff. I missed this video somehow. Im newly motivated to change my plugs, clean my MAF and PCV. Ill report back if I can find my missing MPGs.
  10. I had SS brake lines installed and found the OEM brakes on my 11 Sport fine. I think I'm hard on brakes and they lasted to 45K. Ive also towed our 2900lb boat a dozen times as well.
  11. Plugs I have not done. I have them, but when I couldnt see the rear set to get to them that project went on hold. Im living south nowadays so Im still in the 70's, but even so I keep up on tire pressures. Was thinking maybe a dirty air flow sensor?
  12. So my Edge Sport has recently celebrated its 7th year with us and at slightly over 73K miles Ive steadily noticed a decline in my highway cruising mileage. Now the Edge was never a really economical vehicle to begin with, but I managed to average close to 20mpg in mixed daily driving. On a recent 9.5 hour long cruise control trip thats the best I could manage. Those trips almost always netted me 23+ mpg. Ive seen as high as 27mpg. (computer, not calculated). Does anyone have any ideas on what Im missing? I run synthetic oil, proper tire pressure, and my Edge is very well taken care of. Open to all ideas.
  13. Sadly I have misplaced one of my key fobs for my 2011 Edge Sport, Im wondering if I can purchase any Ford Key Fob (i.e. Ford Fusion, Mustang, Lincoln, etc) to program to my system? Anyone know?
  14. I use them, no magic. Theyre like every other wiper. Still need to be rotated to stay working properly or else they too get the bazorks.
  15. Here it is for future reference so no one has to go searching around for it. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/18960-door-ajar-warning-on-at-all-times-fix/?p=139142
  16. Get in touch with a lemon law lawyer in your region. Explain the situation and provide all your service paperwork. We got a LEMON 2011 Explorer that went back for service 12+ times and over 120 days out of service. They finally bought the Explorer back from us and we only lost money for "Fair Use" up to the miles that we reported the problem.
  17. I got my letter from Ford to bring my car in for the throttle body exchange. I made an appointment and this morning brought my 2011 Edge Sport into Fairway Ford in Augusta GA for this service. Upon arrival I get greeted by a guy in a Ducks Unlimited parka who then introduces himself as "The Manager" and he goes on to explain that without the service light or wrench lit up, they can't change any part. I try to explain, (Reading from the letter) but he's having no part of it, and turned me away. I called the Ford number from my car and the operator called the service dept and explained that owners should be serviced ASAP. She further explained that Ford doesn't want owners going into "limp" mode on a trip, on a highway, they want this serviced before it happens. Bottom Line: DO NOT BE TURNED AWAY FROM THIS SERVICE. The service associates don't understand the letter.
  18. Re-paired the phone to SYNC and all is well in my vehicle again. Thanks for all the hints.!
  19. All good info. Im going to try to investigate this further today to see whats going on. Thanks for the help, ill update soon.
  20. So I connected my phone and was surprised to see that text message reading is now gone. Anyone else experience this? Maybe its a the Android marshmallow upgrade that took it away? Im not sure when it exactly happened since I dont connect my phone everytime im in the car, just bummed that its gone after I had it. Any help is appreciated.
  21. Hmmm. You might be onto something. I'll have to watch the count and try.
  22. A goalie named Greg Irwin who I've coached through the years needs your votes. I'm now turning to my forum brothers and sisters to help me. Please take a moment if you could, and vote for my guy Greg Irwin. We both appreciate everyone's help. Thanks Andy http://highschoolsports.nj.com/news/article/2378812644311659512/vote-for-the-top-goalie-in-the-super-essex-conference/
  23. May I suggest that whatever hitch you buy, you pair it with the Ajust-A-Ball tow bar. It has polyurethane blocks in it to alleviate any slamming during towing. I have the 4 way for towing our boat, and it not only softens jarring road imperfections, but quiets down the whole towing experience which really eases your mind and allows you to listen for things that don't sound right while you're on your way. Worth the money! I paid $107 from etrailer.
