  1. The 2011-14 have these issues in common: Door Ajar Shift to Park APIM Brake Booster Throttle Body But it seems like you went in there with a plan, that always deserves a I have been able to recover the costs of my extended warranty due to 3 major repairs already. Of course dealers charge substantially more than an independent shop, so value is relative LOL. MFT is probably the biggest complaint on everyone's tongue, glad it did not put you off!
  2. Welcome! Seems to be a rare color, mostly we see Kona Blues rather than MB. It really is gorgeous, and I hope you have a great experience with it. Post some pics of your Ranger as well I would consider getting a Ford Protect/ESP warranty to go with it, should be able to get a decent price on it online.
  3. Good going with the Fumoto. The drain plug was probably toast anyway
  4. Could probably do backward facing seats?
  5. More than likely PTU, it is not engaged in P or N, but is in all other gears.
  6. Thats why you get the Edge with the BAMR LOL ...
  7. Sorry to hear hill! This is an event with rather catastrophic results unfortunately, and not enough owners are aware ...
  8. It would pull the vaporized oil-fuel mixture out of the mix, but it would not prevent fuel from continuing to get into the oil past the rings. The fuel would already have contaminated the oil in the crankcase, but the catchcan would allow intake "air" to be that much cleaner, also reducing carboning of the intake valves in the process.
  9. AWD by any chance? Sounds more like PTU/driveshaft issue if so.
  10. That is for the 2011-14 Edge, and I believe for the 2010 up Taurus, etc.
  11. Welcome & congrats, great lookin' ride!
  12. An older thread, but still useful http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12362-ford-logo/
  13. EBay is the most popular source, I think there are a couple of recommended vendors named by members of this forum, hope they chime in.
  14. The blue does fade over time, it seems quicker in some vehicles than others. Some take it apart to repaint, others get stickers or simply replace the emblem entirely.
  15. Welcome to the community, BuddyLee, nice ride! The first thing I have to ask is do you have a Ford extended warranty. It is hard to say if the miles are highway or city miles, what the balance is, but a lot of people give up their rides either becoz they are out of warranty, or major but routine maintenance is beginning to crop up. Coolant, spark plug, and pcv valve come to mind right away. A drain and fill of the transmission fluid is also highly advisable. This will give you a known starting point, and worryfree miles of smiles. Is your Edge AWD?
  16. The hub bore is the main problem, as it is too small to fit on the 2007. The 2007's hub bore is 70.6. So you would have to bore out the PI wheels or find adapters to fit. Don't know how well the adapters would work out though.
  17. Let us know how the tread life works out on the Spec X's.
  18. There are different levels of Techron products. For longterm cleaning (ie 1 bottle in 3 months to a year), you would use Techron Concentrate Plus, for example. If you were throwing Techron ProGard with the non top tier fuel, that would probably be better, but even then it would go for 1,000 miles, no need to do with every tankful. Can't say nonTT fuel + Techron = Chevron, but it certainly would be a much improved product. Since the base fuel is only produced by a few refineries, and the main difference is detergents, you would think so, right? But with any station, the difference is going to be the transport tankers and how well they are maintained. Never pump gas if you see the tanker at the station. All the sediment in the tank will have been stirred up and will end up in YOUR vehicle's fuel tank. Ugh. Instead, I WOULD use synthetic marine oil like TC-W3 or the Marvel Mystery Oil, usually at 1 oz of the product to every 5 gallons of fuel pumped. Add before pumping fuel, first tank doesn't matter, but if you add on the second tank as well, then you need to know how much to add. These products burn cleanly and have lubricating properties that help injectors and fuel pumps stay happy despite winter fuel. Always look for a busy station because even if non Top Tier, the fuel has had less chance to go stale/pick up contaminants from the storage tanks.
