MKX-rear side marker lights fuse location

AWD - start with checking the PTU & driveshaft for signs of leakage. Hopefully no metal shavings in the PTU fluid! Check exhaust heat shields, may be loose. Usually a buzzing sound, but if vibrating fast, could sound like that. Any recent work done on the Edge?

Whining or grinding when coasting
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Dave7778's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
How many miles on your Edge? Is the noise continuous or intermittent when coasting? Is it only when you start up it up and drive away after letting it sit for some time? AWD immediately begs the question: PTU. So check the PTU fluid condition, see if there are any signs of leaks on the unit or the driveway. With your foot on the brake, work slowly through the gears and listen carefully to see if you can hear it while the Edge is not moving. Did you install the brakes yourself (rotors AND pads, or just pads or ...)? Are the caliper slide pins and pistons moving freely? Is the transmission that was installed new/recertified/used? Check all nuts & bolts on the parts replaced to make sure everything is mounted properly & securely. May have to use loctite to secure those that have come loose. -
Don't know about recording, but 360 view would be #1 priority. Recording a close second.

Greetings from the "Live Free or Die" state
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to DTA308's topic in Welcome Forum!
Welcome, Scotty Kilmer! J/K, glad the Edge has kept your interest so long Great color choice, BTW. -
The "easiest" parts to throw at the problem are the headlamp switch and the multifunction switch. The SJB, as akirby pointed out, is best left to the dealer/service shop to diagnose.

Not exactly an "easy" color to decide on. The more "basic" colors like blue, black, white, etc will always be preferred by most people. I have liked the entire line of orangish/brownish hues on the Edge that Ford has put out, but that's me LOL.

What is leaking in these pictures?

Drain from the reservoir using a turkey baster - a popular choice. -

Outstanding TSWs? What wheels did you go with? -
Interesting workaround, however temporary. Hope the new parts treat you well.

Tire noise???????????????????
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to Redbow's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Another 25 degrees and you can enjoy Death Valley paradise at home! Hope the tires continue to behave themselves, good luck -
OEM parts are meant to a job, and when they are not seen or looked for, they get as basic as possible As long as they function correctly, I am OK with that! But no doubt, if there is an upgrade like the TurboSmart, why not?

Do you not have warranty coverage, vanjcox? If not, how far out are you of coverage?

Should mention the issue to your service advisor next time you have the Edge in for service. Maybe the hoods are being made of a lighter material now? I do know it takes triple digit speeds for the hoods to flex on other model lines, maybe the additive effect of your speed and the big rig's speed did it ...

Drilling a drain hole might, but adding Amsoil wouldn't.
-
If you ARE paying for a new PTU, see if the mechanic will install a drain plug per the_natrix's instructions. Despite the revisions, I am not sure the basic issue has been resolved. Also try to get it filled with Amsoil gear oil, not Motorcraft.

Reverse Camera Lines
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to tamugrad2013's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Probably the estimated tracking of the Edge based on current steering position? Referred to as FIXED GUIDELINES in the owner's manual in the PARKING AIDS section: Using the Rear View Camera System The rear view camera system displays what is behind your vehicle when you place the transmission in R (Reverse). The system uses two types of guides to help you see what is behind your vehicle: 1. Fixed guidelines: Show the actual path the vehicle is moving in while reversing in a straight line, which can be helpful when backing into a parking space or aligning the vehicle with another object behind the vehicle. 2. Centerline: Helps align the center of the vehicle with an object (i.e. a trailer). Note: If the transmission is in R (Reverse) and the liftgate is ajar, no rear view camera features are displayed. Note: If the image comes on while the transmission is not in R (Reverse), have the system inspected by your authorized dealer. Note: When towing, the camera only sees what is being towed behind the vehicle. This might not provide adequate coverage as it usually provides in normal operation and some objects might not be seen. In some vehicles, the guidelines may disappear once the trailer tow connector is engaged. Note: The camera may not operate correctly under the following conditions: • Nighttime or dark areas if one or both reverse lamps are not operating. • The camera’s view is obstructed by mud, water or debris. Clean the lens with a soft, lint-free cloth and non-abrasive cleaner. • The rear of the vehicle is hit or damaged, causing the camera to become misaligned. Note: Fixed guidelines are only available when the transmission is in R (Reverse). Note: The centerline is only available if fixed guidelines are on. A. Rear bumper B. Fixed guideline: Red zone C. Fixed guideline: Yellow zone D. Fixed guideline: Green zone E. Centerline The fixed guidelines fade in and out depending on the steering wheel position. Always use caution while reversing. Objects in the red zone are closest to your vehicle and objects in the green zone are further away. Objects are getting closer to your vehicle as they move from the green zone to the yellow or red zones. Use the side view mirrors and rear view mirror to get better coverage on both sides and rear of the vehicle. Selectable settings for this feature are FIXED and OFF.- 1 reply
