  1. It is possible that the Restraint Control Module has been damaged (even if airbag did not deploy), and you should make sure that is among the parts replaced. The harness to/from it should be checked for shorting also.
  2. EBay is the easiest way to get it, but there are other sites that sell the manuals at full price. The alternative is to buy a subscription to the information online (such as at mitchell or alldata). Maybe motorcraft also provides access online, not sure.
  3. Probably referring to a PCV vent? Might be as simple as replacing the valve & hoses?
  4. This is what the OM has to say about it: Heated outside mirrors (if equipped) Both mirrors are heated automatically to remove ice, mist and fog when the rear window defrost is activated. Do not remove ice from the mirrors with a scraper or attempt to readjust the mirror glass if it is frozen in place. These actions could cause damage to the glass and mirrors. Do not clean the housing or glass of any mirror with harsh abrasives, fuel or other petroleum-based cleaning products.
  5. Wow, not good! I certainly hope Ford has mitigation in place, as that is a definite and known fault with the engine/production process. They seem to have known about since at least March 2008? Wow. Most reports of leaks have been PTU related, either a seal failure or the PTU vent spitting up its' lubricant.
  6. Check the seat track bolts from underneath the Edge, they may need to be tightened. Is the ratcheting mechanism firmly seated in the groove? Maybe move to a different notch?
  7. Instructions for cleaning: http://www.knfilters.com/video/Cabin_Air_Filter_Cleaning.html http://www.knfilters.com/instructions/18685_Inst.pdf
  8. I meant the slender long curved cover on each side of the floor shifter trim cover itself, very early on in the video. I wonder why they would make it difficult to remove the trim?
  9. Here is a video from Coastal for their LockPick product: Though they don't remove the trim ring, they do pry off the cover on each side to expose screws. Maybe that will do the trick?
  10. Ouch! Glad you are ok, the Edge may have taken a hit to the BCM or relays, it looks like. Check underhood fuses to see what might be blown.
  11. Best wishes to your wife for a speedy recovery and resumption of an active life, akirby
  12. I saw an Engine Oil Pressure warning but not an Engine Oil Life display in the 2010 Owner's Manual. I think your mom is doing a great job! But if using Ford SynBlend, 5K/6months whichever comes first on a normal duty cycle should be fine. Extreme conditions, like repeated stop-n-go in city traffic, 3K/3 months would be better. Aftermarket full-syn oils can last longer.
  13. Have seen a guy "transplant" a Sync3 system into a Sync2 SHO. Supposedly everything works except the nav display in the gauge cluster area. Even that may be resolvable, they think, but that might require a dealer to turn on a thing or two via IDS.
  14. Ask Benny (LevittownFordSuperCenter) to see if anything can be done about shipping? If the second shaft you picked out isn't corroded, maybe it can be lathed smooth. But I wouldn't know how tight the clearances are with the seal, so it might still leak.
  15. Are they available in the style you need? Not sure what the bulb collar means, but I see H4/H13/9004/9007 listed as options. These seem to be HI/LOW type bulbs. Since the Edge uses a shutter (right?) for high beam, would you be running LOW all the time, or HIGH all the time? Worth a phone call to vLED.
  16. Hope you can hit the 500,000 mark in this fashion
  17. The button feels fine mechanically though, right, not sticking or anything? I'd check all the turn signal bulbs to make sure they work consistently, and for codes (any major auto parts store should be able to do that free) that might give some clues. Now and then, pulling the negative battery cable and leaving it off for some time does wonders. Of course, then you have to allow time for the PCM to relearn your driving behavior and reset emissions readiness status (is that part of your inspection check?). If that does not work, the BCM may need to be reset or replaced.
  18. Welcome to the forum, and glad to hear the HIDs are working well for you Osram kit, by any chance? Pics of kit and/or install etc.?
  19. I think the real upgrade would be a 9006 HID kit based on this thread: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/13037-headlights-2013-sport/ From what I have read, HIR2 bulbs give you about 1800 or so lumens, while these "brigher" replacement halogens are not much better, at or under 2000 for sure. Still you could give the SS Ultra 9006 a go if you like. Additional reading: http://shnu.us/HIR%20Trimming%20A.htm
  20. Sure you don't have HID on the Sport? Halogens are listed in the OM as HIR2 or 9012. The Silverstar Ultras are listed only for: 9003/H4, 9004, 9005, 9006, 9007, H7, H11, H13/9008
  21. Welcome to you & your '13 Edge, garspeed! I hear houseboats are the norm over there
