  1. blitz, Yes, 350 lbs-ft is good. The Taurus SHO & MKS (Ecoboost) both weigh nearly as much as the current gen Edge Sport (~4450 Lbs) & can still run 0-60 mph in less than 6 seconds. Some reviews quoted as low as 5.2 seconds.
  2. For the 2.7, remember that the 2.3 Ecoboost in the MKC already makes 285hp & 305 lbs-ft of torque & in the Mustang its "over" 300 hp & lbs.-ft. The 2.7 should easily be more than both. On the other hand, Torque will NOT go beyond 350 lbs-ft. due to the transmission's limits. That's why the 3.5 was limited to 350 lbs-ft in FWD/AWD vehicles that used the 6F55 tranny (SHO/MKS/MKT/Explorer/Flex while it made 420 lbs-ft in the F-150 (RWD/AWD with a different tranny) & now 460 lbs-ft in the '15 Expedition/Navigator. Using simple (not accurate) estimates (hp/lbs-ft per liter) from the output figures of the 2.3 & 3.5: MKC 2.3: 285/305 == 2.7 estimated 334/358 (hp/lbs-ft). Expedition/Navigator 3.5: 380/460 == 2.7 estimated 293/354 (hp/lbs-ft). Mustang 2.3 expected 305/305 == 2.7 est. 358/358 (hp/lbs-ft). My best bet, for Torque, will be limited to 350 lbs-ft (due to tranny) while hp between 330 & 360.
  3. I live in Qatar, generally, in the Arabian Gulf countries, only gasoline/petrol engines are offered for passenger vehicles. So for the 2015 Edge, I expect we get the 3.5 & maybe/hopefully the 2.7 Ecoboost. The 2.0 is probably not coming since it is meant for Fuel Economy & here fuel is cheap plus the idea of a 4 cylinder Edge sized vehicle wouldn't be accepted. I personally hope the 2.7 Ecoboost would come, but only if it was as powerful as the older 3.5 Ecoboost (0-60 mph time of mid 5 seconds, like the SHO). Also, from what happened with the 2011 Explorer & 2013 Fusion, I also don't expect to get the 2015 Edge & that we'd only get it in 2016.
  4. Those are Ford's new switches, in addition to new power window & door locks, available on the 2011+ Explorer, 2013+ Taurus/Flex/Fusion/MKS/MKT/MKZ, and who knows better.
  5. Those are the 3.7 L engine's output (current Edge Sport), the current 3.5 makes 285 hp (213 kW) at 6500 rpm and 253 lb·ft (343 N·m) at 4000 rpm.

  7. Will try with my dealer then when I can. Hopefully it will work. Thanks.
  8. Waldo, sorry to ask & I don't mean to be sceptical, just want to make sure, do you mean the wires are there & near a dealer to configure the paddles to work? Or is it a guess/idea?
  9. Ok, was able to remove & installed a steering wheel from a 2013 with paddle shifters, the paddles light up but don't work. All other buttons work fine. I checked the pins on the clock spring, and all additional pins are present, but couldn't check the other end to see if there are wires for them.
  10. Anyone noticed how on the bottom spoke of the steering wheel on the Sport model has what appears to be a speaker grille? The same spoke on the non-sport models have nothing (open)? Could it be the Active noise cancellation? Also, any information on what the Sport will miss out on compared to the Titanium? 11. Hopefully good news for current owners: "Ford promises that the next-generation, non-Microsoft Sync interface is on the way but that it wont be ready by the time that the Edge hits the market. The good news (or bad news, depending on how well it works) is that the redesigned interface can be loaded into the Edge at any point once the new software is ready." 12. Go to Go to this site: https://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleSelection.do Enter your vehicle's VIN number & click "Search". It will give you details about you vehicle. Under "Outstanding Field Service Actions" you should see "13N02 - EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE ON BRAKE BOOSTER", if it is there, I believe (99%) that the extended warranty would apply to your car even in Canada.
  13. They are also sometimes under the rear cargo tray, with the spare tire.
  14. Ok, can someone help with the instructions to remove the driver's airbag & steering wheel? Thanks in advance.
  15. It's also used in some halogen projectors, Ford's Taurus, Edge & Explorer with halogen lights have them.
  16. Get it online. The Edge uses a single filament bulb with a shield in the projector headlight that moves up and down to create the low/high beams. The 9012 is also referred to as HIR2. The 9006 will probably fit, but the 9012/HIR2 is a better (brighter) bulb. You can also fit a 9005 or 9011/HIR1 easily using the O-ring from the 9006/9012. The 9005/9011 are much brighter, but have much a shorter life span.
  17. Please confirm it. If it's true, I'll take my car to get it fixed.
  18. It is common with the last update of MFT (v3.6). Even Explorer owners face the same issue: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=407107 Hopefully the next update of MFT (if it comes) will fix it.
  19. Welcome Kyra, Don't think anyone has brought up this idea before in the forum, but if you have the towing package, you could use a hitch mounted light. http://m.ebay.com/itm/201019024562
  20. Well, it seems summer has finally come!! Yesterday noon, while driving (not heat soaked in traffic). A/C was barely cooling while standstill, but fine when moving. No comment.
  21. No. But as fishx65, you might be able to install all OEM Ford parts from a Limited with HID. Though, if you go for new parts, it will be expensive.
  22. No you can't add NAV to non-NAV equipped vehicles. It's something only Ford knows the reason for. But you still get voice turn by turn navigation through Sync subscription.
  23. Would someone be kind enough to check/confirm if their are any differences in the wirings between an Edge Sport with Paddle Shifters & a regular Edge without Paddles? I have a 2011 MKX, without paddle shifters, & would like to add them by changing the steering wheel to a 2013 that came with. I was able to confirm that the clocksprings & Airbags are the same for vehicle with & without Paddle Shifters, but would like more confirmation if possible. Background: On the 2011-2014 Explorer, there is a "TOW/HAUL" mode button that comes with the Tow Package, it was found out that by just replacing the switch to one that includes the TOW/Haul buttons will enable the mode without any further modification. So I am hoping that the same goes for the Paddle Shifters, that its only a signal that if present, will work. My question on the 2011 Edge is because it is the most straight forward comparison, all other wirings should be identical between them in the steering wheel except for the added Paddle Shifters on the Sport (given both have the same options).
  24. Do you have the door ajar issue? Even when all doors are closed, you still get a door open warning? If yes, then it is your culprit.
