  1. When the voice is speaking, increase the volume using the volume knob or the volume buttons on the steering wheel.
  2. Actually it is of a concern. Many owners faced far more inconvenience, some reported that it would feel like being hit from behind, while others said it put them in a critical situation due to the vehicle not accelerating (being in neutral for a moment). It is to the point that the official repair involves modifications on the valve body.
  3. It doesn't necessarily mean all vehicles are having a problem, but anyway these are the TSB numbers: TSB 12-1-17 for Engine Ticking Noise, built on or before 1-May-2011. TSB 11-12-10_Tranny Harsh Bump, built on or before 15-April-2011
  4. Ok, just a note on the 2011, pre-May 2011 builds have 2 issues that are covered by TSBs', one related to the transmission and one to the engine. So I woud at least make sure it is a May 2001 build or newer.
  5. Of course newer is always better. It is the question of which is the better deal.
  6. If it is equipped with rain sensing wipers, there is a TSB for it, TSB 11-11-12 for replacing the sensor. I had it done to my 2011 MKX, and although it greatly reduced the phantom wipe, it still happens on rare occasions.
  7. I suggest you carefully read the warranty guide for your car as under the "EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE" of the Warranty Guide, "What is Covered?" it includes: Electronic Engine Control Unit (ECU)* And the footer: * Includes hardware and emissions related software changes only
  8. Do you have remote start? I would like to know if there would be a conflict between remote starting & the shock sensor (if starting engine would trigger the Alarm due to the shock sensor).
  9. Main Screen: Settings > Vehicle > Camera Settings > Rear Camera Delay > select "Off" Although I personally find it a very useful feature, not available in many other makes.
  10. Dealer is probably going to install this: http://accessories.ford.com/electronic-module-10669.html
  11. Check this thread: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/9097-2012-ford-edge-sport-single-exhaust/ I don't think anyone has solid information if there is actually true benefit to the true dual setup compared to the other. nor even a sound/noise comparison.
  12. Media experience (ls973800,), they are the same. The 2013 addded a sport mode to the transmission. That gives more aggressive shifting, though both have steering wheel mounted paddles. Also the 2013 has a physical button for the hazard flashers, while 201102012 have a capacitive button. In 2012, the side view mirrors became smaller with a option for led turn signal lights. Some early 2011 builds had true dual exhaust, while later they changed to fake (dubbed quasi dual) exhaust.
  13. For factory auto windows, you need a different window motor. The MKX already has passenger auto up/down window. So it might be possible to use the switch & motor from the MKX.
  14. Yes. You are right. But that's how it is written in the owners manual.
  15. By the way, the Booster is covered by an extended warranty, 10-years or 150K miles. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/13888-13n02-extended-warranty-coverage-on-brake-booster/?do=findComment&comment=107538
  16. If you don't have the color changing lighting, then you don't have ambient lighting. It's either both or none, they are a set.
  17. What WWWPerfA_ZN0W said. It might be the brake booster not holding vacuum due to a leak. But if it's after 2 days, you should be fine. When my booster was failing, the hard pedal came after 2-3 hours of turning off the car and kept decreasing until the hard pedal came even while driving. Replaced under warranty.
  18. Ok, it seems 3.7 Mustang owners (same engine) had the same dilemma, regarding premium fuel and increased performance. Even though the owners manual stated the increased performance for the 5.0 engine and not the 3.7, they apparently found out that the 3.7 does actually benefit from premium fuel. http://m.themustangsource.com/showthread.php?t=487261&styleid=28
  19. I think the "91 octane" recommendation refers to the 2.0 engine. From the 13' owners manual: Octane Recommendations 3.5L/3.7LV6 engines Regular unleaded gasoline with a pump (R+M)/2 octane rating of 87 is recommended. Somestations offer fuels posted as Regular with an octane rating below 87, particularly in high altitude areas. Fuels with octane levels below 87 are not recommended. 2.0LV6EcoBoost®engine Regular unleaded gasoline with a pump (R+M)/2 octane rating of 87 is recommended. Some stations offer fuels posted as Regular withan octane rating below 87, particularly in high altitude areas. Fuels with octane levels below 87 are not recommended. Premium fuel will provide improved performance and is recommended for severe duty usage such as trailer tow.
  20. Where & for how much did you get them? Also, how is the road illumination? any difference, worse/better?
  21. The factory (called Perimeter Alarm by Ford) , if equipped, does NOT have a shock sensor. But the Ford Accessory security Alarm, that works with the factory Fobs, does have the shock sensor. The factory alarm will only sound if a Door, the lift gate or the hood is opened without using the fob or keypad. It will Not detect glass breaking or protect against entry through a window if the door was not opened. If anyone knows how to a shock or glass breakage sensor to the factory alarm, please tell us, would be very helpful.
  22. Well, you can also upgrade to the 2-way extended range remote start that is available as a Ford Accessory.
  23. Modern Ford vehicles will not disable the alarms unless the remote unlock button is pressed or a correct programmed key is used to turn on the ignition. So even he unlocks your door with a correct cut key, the alarm will still off in about 12 seconds unless they use the remote unlock button or turn on the ignition using a correct programmed key.
  24. The power outlet located on the passenger side of the console? Just a thought, the MKX already has a light for the glovebox, so maybe there is already wiring for it in the Edge?
  25. Even if the key opens the door, the alarm will still go off & engine will not start unless the key is programmed to the ignition.
