  1. Hi PapaJester, Depending on your phone, you can go into your Bluetooth options, select SYNC, and deselect PHONE. You should be left with just media; like akirby said, you can always connect your phone via USB. If you do it that way, it'll also charge. Rebecca
  2. 1102adam, My Ford counterpart Todd can offer assistance with concerns not pertaining to SYNC. Here's a link to the FordService profile where you can send him a direct message: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/user/29146-fordservice/ Antonio
  3. Hi 1102adam, I'd recommend attempting a master reset before pulling any fuses: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/perform-master-reset-sync-myford-touch Do you know if your vehicle software has been updated? If you're not sure, feel free to PM your VIN and I can check. Antonio
  4. Hi jonfit04, Check the passenger compartment fuse panel for any blown fuses. You can view the fuse box location and definitions on page 257 of the owner's manual here: http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/catalog/owner_guides/08edgog1e.pdf Antonio
  5. smalsharkawe, I'm afraid I do not; device compatibility varies widely by carrier and manufacturer. There aren't any current device compatibility charts I can point you to, but your carrier should be able to offer assistance with finding the best device that suits your needs. Antonio
  6. 70amcpwr, No problem! I appreciate your willingness to work with me. Shoot me a PM if there's anything else you need. Fingernip, I'm glad to hear that you had such a positive experience. If something else pops up, you know where to find me. Antonio
  7. 70amcpwr, Thanks for keeping us in the loop on your SYNC repairs. My Ford counterpart Todd is able to assist with other vehicle concerns not pertaining to SYNC. If your dealership is unable to provide further assistance with your other vehicle issues, you can PM him directly here: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/user/29146-fordservice/ Antonio
  8. Hi smalsharkawe, If the system is not recognizing your USB broadband device, then it is likely incompatible with your MyFord Touch. This can be tested by connecting and using an alternative USB device, such as an iPod, with SYNC. Antonio
  9. Hi crystal_hinze, Omar's on the right track. I can provide troubleshooting assistance if your vehicle is SYNC equipped. You're welcome to PM your VIN and I can give you a few steps to take specific to your vehicle. Antonio
  10. Hi 70amcpwr & Fingernip, Keep me posted on how your repairs go. I'll provide additional support in the event anyone's issues persist beyond the APIM replacements. Antonio
  11. b1gbleu, It's difficult to say. I don't have any product-specific knowledge about your Maestro, but I've seen other radios that have their own Bluetooth capabilities independent from the rest of the vehicle. I wasn't sure if your setup happened to be one of them or if it piggy-backed off the existing system. Either way, I'm at a disadvantage when it comes to aftermarket equipment. I don't have any way of knowing if the auto-play is coming from SYNC or some sort of default setting in your radio. Your owner's manual would likely offer the best insight. If it's Pandora that automatically kicks in, check under the app settings>advanced>then make sure the box under BLUETOOTH AUTOMOTIVE is unchecked. I hope this helps! Antonio
  12. Hi adoble, I can help address your MFT concerns. What kind of issues have you had specifically? Antonio
  13. Hi Is973800, The Pandora metadata streaming currently varies by device. I have an S4 with Sprint and I'm able to view the song/artist title while playing music physically stored on my phone. I'll post an update if anything turns up on our end, but at this time the S4 doesn't seem to stream Pandora song titles. Antonio
  14. Kwmck, Glad to hear it! Let us know if there's anything else you need. Antonio
  15. Hello b1gleu, In order to use the SYNC hardware and functions to connect your device via Bluetooth, you need to have access to the OEM controls and display. If these controls/display have been replaced, the Bluetooth pairing capabilities of SYNC are likely unavailable with your current hardware. Antonio
  16. akirby, I should have read over the post more carefully before firing off a response. I even referred to the method as a fuse pull, when in my head I was thinking we were on the topic of a battery disconnect for some reason. It's been a long week! A fuse pull won't affect your favorites. In some cases in the past when a customer disconnected their battery to troubleshoot an issue, this has lead to data loss when left unhooked for an extended period of time. In any case, the fuse pull is still your best option. I'm glad to help, thanks for keeping me honest! rwolson, The link you provided didn't pull up anything for me, but you may have been referring to this post: http://boards.synccommunity.com/discussions/Welcome_to_SYNC_Owner_to_Owner/SYNC_Announcements/Sirius_Voice_Command_Update_File/fordsyncmb/3904.1?redirCnt=1&nav=messages&sr=y An application becomes considered third-party after any modification is made to the original file. There are a few websites that distribute this modified version of the Sirius Voice Command Update (SVCU) file, calling it the Delayed Reboot utility. Since there's no guarantee what you might find on the internet these days, I'm unable to recommend those versions of the application as a recourse. Although many of these sites sincerely wish only to help other vehicle owners, it only takes a single unscrupulous individual to dish out malware of some form. On top of this, the original intention of the SVCU isn't to troubleshoot SYNC-related issues, but to resolve a very specific concern in some vehicles. For these reasons, we don't recognize the utility as a viable troubleshooting measure at this time. Antonio
  17. Hi onewomanarmy, Can you clarify what you mean by no longer showing up? I think I can help you with this. Antonio
  18. Hi Fingernip, Let me know how your dealer visit goes! I'll help in any way I can. Antonio
  19. Hi perrytime & rwolson, A fuse pull would have a deeper effect than a master reset, but involves the same loss of your favorites and settings. I can't recommend the use of any unofficial third-party applications, but a key cycle accomplishes similar results without incurring data loss. If you end up visiting your dealership, perrytime, keep me in the loop on how it goes. I can provide further support if the issue persists. Antonio
  20. Hi Oldannieb & lowesdell, I agree with omar's suggestion as the first approach. Here are the instructions on how to perform a master reset, just in case they are needed: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/perform-master-reset-sync-myford-touch In the event the master reset does not resolve the ambient lighting issue, your dealership would need to take a closer look at that behavior. Pertaining to the satellite radio presets, it's possible this is stemming from the same root cause but I can't say for sure. We'll have to revisit that issue after the service garage has had a chance to look at it. Antonio
  21. Hi Kwmck, This could be an APIM failure; keep me posted on how your dealership visit goes. Definitely check the fuse to make sure nothing was blown, in case you haven't already. Antonio
  22. Hi perrytime, I can lend a hand. PM your VIN so I have your SYNC details and I'll look into this. Antonio
  23. Hello Brian J Klos, If you're not able to make any progress in determining the cause through the buttons, I would definitely recommend performing a master reset: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/perform-master-reset-sync-navigation The cause could definitely be hardware or mechanically-related, which would need to be examined at your dealership. Keep us posted on how it goes! Antonio
  24. funhouse69, Thanks for the status update. I wouldn't consider staying in touch with your dealer "hounding" - I'm sure your service adviser would rather have the opportunity to address any lapses in communication than let the matter boil over. It's perfectly reasonable to give them a call to see where things are at, especially considering your scheduling requirements. My guess is that the part could be on back order. Antonio
