Resume on the cruise control is not working

3X on the clock spring -
Keep me advised on this issue. I have not run across a rear spring issue with an Edge. Curious as to what it would be that is causing your noise.

The magnetic spark plugs sockets are much better than the rubber insert type.

Long term effort to test oils with the duratec 3.5. I have ran various oils to date through my 3.5 Duratec on both of my 2011 Edge's. I am now changing the oil brand for the 5th time. I have ran a synblend bulk oil initially with bulk filter then changed to a AMSOIL with AMSOIL filter for multiple runs with the 0W20 and now I am using Mobile one with AMSOIL filter. I am now going to the the Purolator Boss oil filter and REDLINE 5W20 synthetic motor oil. I have testing from many of this oils under two entirely different extremes. 1) all city high idle time and 2) all interstate mileage. I run the same oils during the phase of the testing for Each brand The All city Edge is ran for 100 hrs and the All highway is ran for 200hrs Results so far have me against using 0W20 weight oil for any 3.5 for two reasons; 1) Bearing and high metals wear the oil is just too light for hard use 2) Highway use the extended drive hours (200) the Duratec consumes the oil through the PCV system and will use over a quart of oil during a 200 hr run. Currently I have mobile one and have lost just over half a quart in the 200hrs and the 100hr engine seem to be just slightly down at nearly 100hrs. Testing samples will be collected soon My goal is to build a data base of use in hours and type of oil my weight and brand and hopefully show how the oils behave with the 3.5 duratec.

I am not 100 percent certain but I would be willing to say you have loose shocks or the bushings on the shocks are worn or smashed. The springs are under a lot of tension but do not move in a twisting motion. There is really no ability for the springs to cause a noise. The shocks though have much more that can go wrong due to their complexity and mountings. If you have over 60K miles on the shocks it may be time to install a new set and see if this corrects the situation. Plus you will get better handling and a better ride.

It really does not good for the fans to continue to run since they are not cooling the engine. The water pump is not moving so for the fans to continue is essentially a wasted effort.

You sure can dream and while doing so here is some incentive.

Finally got the two rear wheel hubs off. Took a bit of effort (rust) but some heat and BFH's did the trick.

Try this to clean up the battery.

I did my research. I aim for longevity at low cost.

Note it does not work with many synthetic oils due to the additives in the oils. It will provide false results. Stated in the website. Redline, Amsoil, royal purple etc.

It is just the GL928 alternator unless it is a sport then it will be a different alternator. The 1.5 Refresh has two alternators. The amps are different for each. I will also note I have seen an increase in views on my alternator replacement video so I believe more alternators are starting to fail. -
I am starting to coat the under side of my Edge with the Coroseal. Hoping to buy more time for my Edge.

Two new rear wheel hub/bearings were installed. Removing them was rather difficult due to extreme rust. Had to use a blow torch, hand sledge and a sliding sledge at the same time to bust them loose and even the hammers took some effort. The housing where the hub mounted was so rusty that once I removed the rust the new hubs fell into the opening and I did not even have to pull the hub into position with the fasteners.

This is the tester Solar BA7 -
I would recommend just spraying the spring with a lubricant such as fluid film that should keep it in good shape for a while.

Here is my second Ford Edge to reach 200K miles. Let's just say we are going to start off with a grrrrrrrrr. Needs new wheel bearings.

Thinking out loud. 2007's are prone to PCM issues. Might want to take it out send it in for a repair. If it is functioning all you would be out is the shipping.

This is Lullubelle. LU for short. LU passed 200,000 miles yesterday and is running pretty good. Thanks to the Orange Crush LU has benefited from lessons learned and Ford Engineering improvements. LU stands in much better shape than the OC did at his point of 200,000 miles. I will be making a video on the history of maintenance/repairs on LU to this point of 200,000 miles. Here a few photos in the mean time.

I my self would not ever use a monroe shock. Go with OE motorcraft or the KYB's

Replaced front pads and rotors, now getting noise...
macbwt replied to Mirage52's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
It will be fine. The pad will wear to adjust to the rotor.
