  1. If it is a miss fire then check for a misfire. Did you check the Purge valve solenoid for vacuum? What was the vacuum reading? Anything below 7 and you have a failed/failing purge valve. Spark and fuel are your concerns at this point. Are the injectors all working? What are your O2 sensors reading?
  2. This is a kick off for the MACT Ford Edge/Lincoln MKX Facebook Live videos that I produce each Sunday afternoon on most weeks. The videos can be found live to the groups MACT FORD EDGE on the Facebook group of the same name or are later up loaded to the MACT Ford Edge youtube channel. They are also posted in HD format with some enhancements on the Facebook page and this forum. Hope you enjoy them. Here is what you missed last week.
  3. A video on how to remove the passenger side seat on the Ford Edge MY 2011. I am sure the drivers side will be forthcoming.
  4. I changed all the fluids in my Old ranger when I bought it and this brought it back to life with full power. New fluids work wonders.
  5. If you have a shift to park issue the Edge remote start will not function. I have had that occur to my wife's Edge.
  6. my overall mpg is 23.4 mpg based on a 5k mile run currently as monitored in my Trip #2 function. I reset Trip #1 each tank.
  7. Once you reset and fill the tank the mileage to empty will be based on the mileage from the last trip before you reset it.
  8. If you do not have a limited then this is not an option for adjustment.
  9. Reasonable and good planning.
  10. What are your fuel trims running at. Vacuum leak (brake booster) could be an issue. It will not set codes with a leaking brake booster.
  11. What time frame for capture of the mileage do you have it set at? 5min 10min or 30min?
  12. It was going to happen and finally did LU was running rather sluggish at WOT and I checked the Filter Minder and it was at 80 percent. So I was only running 20 percent air flow. I pulled out the AEM filter and cleaned it. Got a bunch of mud out of it and have now let it dry and re-installed the filter. Let's see what happens tomorrow during the 400 miles I will put on it. The AEM filter had 98,000 miles on it since it was installed and was never cleaned.
  13. No easy way around it. You have to remove the intake, but it should be a simple job. The only thing I would do is replace them all. I always say if one is failed the others are sure to follow.
  14. Did you remove the air intake, battery and battery tray etc.. This usually provide much more real estate for working on this area of the transmission.
  15. That part is called a Transmission Fluid Thermal Bypass Valve.
  16. Agree the LCA has nothing to do with the seal or axle. Luck of the draw if you have a leak 1 out of three of my Edges had an axle seal leak but nothing outstanding. More like a seep than a leak.
  17. If there is full power to the connector that plugs into the window regulator then Bob's your uncle. Regulator motor is bad.
  18. Just a thought besides the strut (which I highly suspect) but also the sway bar bushing. Turning puts a lot of stress on the sway bar bushing also. Try spraying some silicone lube int he sway bar bushing just to see it this quiets things down.
  19. Some folks always ask. Does a full sized spare fit in the back of the Edge. My response is can you get a square peg in a round hole?
  20. Just in case you wanted to replace your blower motor in the HVAC system. Here it is.
  21. This is primarily an issue with the 1st gen Duratec VCT engine. For some reason the coils back feed into the the PCM when they fail due to the spark plugs being extremely worn. The Ti-VCT 1.5 Gen Duratec does not seem to have this issue of coil failure back feeding into the PCM as much as the 1st gen does. Coils still fail but have not been causing PCM failure. Not entirely sure what electronics were changed or if the re-engineering of the Duratec to the TI-VCT had anything to do with the protection of the PCM from coil failure.
  22. I have only replaced struts, sway bar links (front) and rear shocks. All other parts are OEM at 205,000 miles on the Edge.
  23. I have not made a video on this yet. I am still waiting for my front wheel bearings to fail. I am currently at 205,000 miles on my 2011. I am sure one day one will start to fail, but no idea when. I just replaced the rear hub and they were a real PITA and required high heat, a hand sledge and a sliding sledge at the same time to remove them. They were both rust welding into the suspension. I am planning on replacing not only the bearing, but the front hub also on the fronts when the time comes just because I do not want to deal with the rust.
  24. The coil pak should fix the ignition issues and a rework PCM will finalized the 2007-2008 Achilles heel of the Ford Edge.
  25. How many miles on that 2010? Some parts would be needing replaced some i would not, but I do not know the condition of your Edge to say. I have never replaced a rear sway link or bushings in any Edge. Mine do not seem to wear much in my driving conditions. Inner and Outer tie rods is also another item I have never had to replace. Again condition of the old parts would be a hands on check. Axle - I would strongly recommend an OEM axle, but maybe the aftermarkets are getting better. Again never had to replace an axle either.
