Use motor craft strut bearing mounts and either MC struts or KYB struts. Been down this noisy bumpy road with aftermarket. Never works out. Be ready to replace the replacement monroe.

Almost to the finish line.

Strut bearing mount has failed. The good rule of thumb is to replace the struts and strut bearing mounts in pairs. Use OEM motorcraft strut bearing mounts. I have had other aftermarket mounts fail. Your best choice of struts will be MC or KYB

Type and grade of engine oil change for 2011 Edge SEL FWD 3.5L
macbwt replied to Edgingage's topic in 2011 Edge & MKX
I took my 2008 Edge to 285,000 miles on synblend bulk oil and a bulk oil filter. Key was the frequency of oil changes. -
Covering some SSM"s and a TSB on the 2015+ Ford Edge and an F150 TSB

Looks like we can now call it the 1st Annual MACT group meeting. This meeting has apparently started other regional MACT group meetings bringing Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX owners together.

I was able to replace the KYB shocks under warranty with 100K miles on them through rockauto. 12 bucks for shipping though. I have the new ones installed and have been riding around on them for over a week now.

Going to have to have a scanner to get this working maybe even Ford involvement for programing

The first one connects down below on the transmission I believe.

About 28K miles on the tires now. Fronts are less then 5/32nds outside grove and more than 4/32nds inside groves center. The rears are at 7/32nds. Tires have never been rotated. I should make it to the November time frame and then ditch the fronts and install my snow tires then in the spring buy two new tires and put the older set in the front to wear them out next year.

You are a funny man assuming it was my remote. It is my wife's remote to her Edge and WE both will never know why she does not just grab the door handle to unlock the door. LOL You can ask her though, but I will not. LOL I could not find the missing piece and for 15 buck her remote now looks brand new. It was pretty worn and beat up from being in her purse.

Type and grade of engine oil change for 2011 Edge SEL FWD 3.5L

Use the 5W20 for your driving. The weather you will endure will not cause issues either way. I used 0W20 once and suffered some metal wear in my wife's Edge and stopped using it. I use full synthetic on both vehicles and one has about 210,000 miles with no issues other than the valve cover blow by, but that is about to be remedied soon. -
Blueberry's key fob button broke so I ordered a new case and got it working again. 15 dollar repair.

2012 Ford Edge - Rear Camera - No Guidelines
macbwt replied to bdshan@gmail.com's topic in 2012 Edge & MKX
The software/firm ware I believe will be a Ford proprietary thing and you will have to pay for a diagnostic and update if this is the issue. Is the part a genuine Ford Replacement camera? -
Clip the ps belt until you can replace the hose at least you will not ruin the pump. Might drive like a dump truck but will still steer. The high pressure line is the usual suspect. you will have to jack the Edge up and remove the wheel well for better access. Removing the pump may be a better choice if you have meat paws like me.

Maybe the APIM is needed a reprograming. Did Ford install the noise canceling system in the 2017 Edge?

Could be or cracked head. Trying to think how it could get in there through a gasket leak. Hair line fracture would allow coolant through. However this may be more than that since it gathers up enough coolant to cause a missfire. I would scope the cylinders to check for coolant the leaking cylinder would be essentially steam cleaned of any carbon deposits. Check oil also. Test the oil. If you have coolant in the oil then you will need major engine work.

I plan on finding out because I will cut it up to look when I finish installing the new one. Not cutting up the new one but at least will see the inside of the old one.
-
I just purchased the updated valve cover and will be replacing the old one. Let's see if this helps with the oil consumption.

Either your suspension is bent or your tires are too large. There is no other reason for the tire to rub the strut.
