  1. That is because he mainly deals with 15 plus Mustangs which runs CGEA1.3...he doesn't know everything. I have been dealing with SYNC stuff since 2013 and I don't know everything either, always room to learn. Yes the CAN BUS system is different. It's programmable though. I suspect Ford is writing the older can bus out of the newer software which is why dual climate won't work with 3.4 via SYNC (works fine if you have hard controls though) as I stated earlier. The newer generation of APIMs were never installed in the older can bus system from the factory so they have no reason to keep supporting it. I don't recommend your specific APIM be used in your vehicle but that doesn't mean basic things won't work. If you stay with 3.3 you will be perfectly fine as long as it is programmed properly.
  2. I deal with MFT a lot. 15 Edge with that version of APIM, I can't recall any issues. Doesn't mean things can't go bad. It is the early version Edge's 11/12 model year that have high failure rates.
  3. Yeah those are way wrong...it has to be programmed specifically for your vehicle which it clearly is not. If you messed with the ACM programming that needs to be changed back to what it was originally as well. There are cheaper places to have it done too.
  4. That is not factory remote start. Might have been installed by the dealer but hitting the lock button three times def. is not from the factory. You need to find out what system you have first.
  5. If this is what you are using for SYNC3, its way off.
  6. How are you activating remote start since you don't have the fob with the led?
  7. @TxBucki if you can't figure out the proper APIM programming there are a few sources on the internet that can supply proper programming for a fee. You many want to consider that. Also be aware that with an APIM running 3.4 software your dual climate will not work correctly from the SYNC unit and as Ford pushes out updates more features may not work right as that generation APIM was never intended to be used in a CGEA1.2 vehicle such as your Edge. So if you upgrade from 3.3 that will not function right.
  8. You can't find the setting in the cluster to turn it off and on?
  9. Here is a sample video of MFT and adding an android phone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scIniGdiHFY Vehicle Health Report isn't supported anymore just FYI. It may be possible the APIM has lost its BT and its time for a replacement.
  10. Guess they are too lazy to look it up.
  11. Give this to them... 15 Edge 3.5 PTU_Transfer Case Drain and Fill.pdf
  12. I'm not sure where the info came from that it has an accessible horn relay but according to the Ford service manual the horn relay is internal to the BCM and not serviceable.
  13. Thats a completely different system. Can't help.
  14. Sounds like the GPS receiver is bad or the APIM (SYNC) is having issues. Going to need to get it checked out.
  15. Back in Dec of 19 I bought a cluster from a 19 ST and put it in my 16 Sport and the Sport did not pass the data to the cluster to get the boost gauge to work.
  16. Only the 2.7 has a pulley setup as photographed for the 15 Edge. I have no doubt its a 2.7. The work to swap in a completely different size motor would have been way too much work. They put the belt on the wrong. It just needs to be put on the right way.
  17. The light is powered on the same circuit as the other interior lamps. If those work then you have a wiring issue, switch issue or the bulb is just no good.
  18. I hate belt routing but that looks wrong to me. Isn't the alternator (ALT in the pic) the small pulley. You have it running to the tensioner and the idler pulley from the alternator. The diagram doesn't show that. Shouldn't it be like this?
  19. Are you all comparing the same software build?
  20. Search the vehicle thoroughly. There is a fob in it somewhere. As mentioned is there an aftermarket remote start installed? Also I think there is a way to tell through the dash settings how many keys are programmed to it. May want to look that up and see if that is possible to check.
  21. There is no fuse for it. It runs directly off power sent from the APIM. If you have both the usb cable and power plug connected properly and the APIM works you have a wiring concern between the APIM and media bay. Perhaps pinched wires or something?
  22. Don't take your fob out to the car and see if it will start anyway.
  23. Tell them they need to program the as built data for the TRM.
  24. Your eliminator did not cause this issue. The as built data didn't auto program during the trailer module update. They need to write the as built data to the trailer module, if I was working on it, i'd do it twice, clear the codes and see if it comes back. It shouldn't.
