Try a reset. Don't think it will work but shouldn't hurt. Pull fuse 29 and wait 1/2 hour. If radio comes on when you reconnect, let is go for several minutes (can turn down the sound if too loud, but don't change channels, etc. until the reboot is complete). If this doesn't work try a full reset. Make sure the car is on, in Park Press the Phone Button to enter the PHONE MENU Scroll repeatedly until SYSTEM SETTINGS appears in the radio display Press OK to enter the SYSTEM SETTINGS MENU Scroll repeatedly until ADVANCED appears in the radio display. Press OK Scroll repeatedly until MASTER RESET appears in the radio display Press OK. SYNC will ask you to confirm the reset Press OK to confirm. The radio display will read ALL RESET SYNC will take you back to the ADVANCED SETTINGS MENU

Surmising: the reason the ACM works after the car has run is, it's switched over the the acc connection and continues to operate for the duration of the accessory delay. The problem seems to be getting power through the start/run feed (which is a separate feed). Unfortunately I don't have a 2012 service manual, mine only goes up to 2010. In the 2010, power comes through the Smart Junction Box, fuse #28, then through a GY-VT wire to the ACM (audio control modular or radio for short). So if this still holds for your 2012, ir fault lies either in the SJB (of fuse panel for short) as there's electronics in here which controls this circuit, the wire to the radio (not likely) or the radio itself. Troubleshooting ideas: using an inexpensive 2 volt tester, pull the radio and ampifiler fuses and test the fuse socket (with the switch in the on or run, position.) If the SJB *is* feeding power, it's probably the radio (ACM actually, but you must replace the entire radio to fix). If there is *no power* then it's the SJB fault and one possible fix would be to rewire to a different circuit that's powered only when the car is on (on in the run position). Involves cutting the wire near the SJB and using a 12 volt quick connector, linking to a different conductor (wire). BTW, on the 2010, there are three fuses to the ACM, #28, operate in run, #41 operate in acc & #39 which I have no ida as to what it does.

PS on my 09 mkx, I clip a pinch type onto the consol Fwd storage comp door (where the power outlet is located). Keeps my phone low and out of the way while still accessible.

Seen those but always worried that jiggling of the part that slide into the would damage mechanism. Also, when drive detectors a cd inserted, tries to load cd, what hapoens to mechanism when it can't? Too expensive to play around with imho.

Nice looking display. Sometimes it pays to pay more for better quality. ?

Tirerack.Com is showing the Michelin Premier LTX (bout $200/ea) as the highest rated. I'm running Bridgestone Dueler's, they gave them for around $150/ea. Good tires. Ford will match these prices and give you a $70 rebate with the Michelin's & $140 with the Bridgestone tires. (If you put the tires on your Ford card, if you don't have one, you can apply right at the service desk.) -
What are you wanting to hook up?

If you crawl under the car, it's just an open tube that sticks down a couple on inches. A blast of air should open it, but I would follow up with a can of Lubegard to kill any mold. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0007PHD0S/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1475951990&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=Lubegard+96030+Kool-It+Evaporator+and+Heater+Foam+Cleaner Here's a Youtube video on how to do this https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Bi22mdXj3wM The drain in located at item #4. .

Although unrelated, parts of this post may be helpful. Would take a LOT of changes to add Sync to an 07 however. Your best option may be to consider an aftermarket unit. http://www.taurusclub.com/forum/120-5th-6th-gen-electronics-security-audio-visual/176592-adding-sync-2008-navigation.html#/topics/176592?_k=gnlztp

Make them really spiffy, put a blue dot lens in the middle of each taillight. Real chick magnet. ?

Had this happen to me once, turned out I had specified an east (street address) instead of a west. {123 EAST Anywhere St. instead of 123 WEST Anywhere St.}.

It is sounding like their may be a more serious problem. Hope they are able to find it. -
They're giving too much control to the computers. One glitch and your toast.
