  1. Yes, you are correct, it looks like his paint is de-laminating. I'll do a deep dive on google. The dealer I purchased my car from informed me when I purchased my edge. Then again the dealer may have been mistaken. Or if you happen to ever pass by a dealership with multiple 15-18 on their lot, you will see that the the paint tint/ shade does not match between model years.
  2. Did you buy the wheel and tire package? If so that is a good candidate for wheel replacement. Or you might get some love at the dealership you purchased her from. If they have other edge sports on the lot they may let you switch them. If that fails, you can get avery decent job done at home. It's all in the prep!
  3. Welcome to the forum! Unfortunately your wheels are not black. Due to supply chain issues, IIRC due to a natural disaster. Ford used different vendors throughout the 15-18 run. The lack of quality control and consistency led to various shades of grey. If your wheels are perfect and do not require any repairs you have a few options. The cheapest alternative is plasti-dip. Any imperfections will telegraph through the dip. A medium grade solution would be painting. Medium grade but not medium price. If you're going to DIY, your cost will be materials. It is possible to do a very high quality job at home. It's all in the prep. If you want a professional job, you're going to have to pay professional prices. Some will debate that paint is better than my next suggestion. The best alternative would be to have your wheels powder coated. Powder coating is the best bang for your best bang for your buck. You can have any imperfections repaired. Powder coating is more durable and can withstand more abuse than paint. In Philly powder cooting will run you $600 and up and that includes any wheel repair and removing and reinstalling your tires. If your wheels are perfect I've seen prices as low as $450. Almost every place that repairs wheels can do powder coating in house. Although I would imagine that there are places that just repair/ restore and not powder coat. If you search through the gallery you will see a few members with plasti-dip and powder coating. HTH
  4. Here you go. Here two decent videos that should get you most of the way if not all of the way, take a look at the PDFs I attached for clarification if needed. 5. Not unless you have glass coverage specifically in your policy. State Farm has 0 deductible, glass insurance, built into their full coverage policies. Unfortunately most do not.
  6. Quick heads up in regards to the FMIC cold pipe upgrade! RamFab is no longer making the cold pipe upgrade. He has passed on the tools and materials necessary to DTP Fab! DTB Fab can be reached via the following: https://dtpfabworks.com/ or https://www.instagram.com/dtp_fabworks/?hl=en If you had a hot side pipe fabricated, I believe that you would be the first to have one. Let us know how it works out for you. I may have a cold side pipe available for sale.

  9. I understand the hesitancy in regards to not wanting to spend monies for something that may or may not used more than once. I also understand that we have to work with the budget that we have available to us. Point your browser in this direction.... OBDLink-EX-FORScan Adapter This adapter was exclusively designed by the FORScan team. The main difference between the adapter and the one that 1004Ron mentioned is that this adapter is limited to FORScan use only. Although it is fully compatible and compliant with all OBDII specifications and fully bilateral. You may or may not have to pay for 3rd party apps to diagnose other vehicles. Unfortunately you do not get access to the full diagnostic suite that comes with the OBDLink MX.
  10. That's bizarre! Sorry to hear that you're still dealing with this! Usually removing the negative cable does the trick! Personally, I would get the code reader because, I like to have an idea of what of I'm potentially dealing with when going to any mechanic. There are lots of knowledgeable folks on this forum. Perhaps they can shed some light! @WWWPerfA_ZN0W @1004ron @enigma-2 @jmr061 @omar302 @macbwt
  11. The error code that you have their in your pic speaks to the exact problem that your facing! THE FCIM is the interface with the buttons that do not work for you. Have you tried disconnecting the negative cable for 10-20 min to see if that will reset the modules? Some have even left it disconnected over night! If you search the forums you will see that some people have had success disconnecting the negative cable. Good Luck!
  12. You can reset your BMS with FORScan and the appropriate OBDII adapter. Lots of members including myself use this one here: MX OBDII Bluetooth Scanner
  13. Here you go... Call and ask Dan if his Sport lens are backwards compatible. If not the other tail lights look great as well! HTH https://drivebright.com/product-category/ledtaillights/?filter_model=edge&filter_make=ford&filter_year=2010
  14. Personally I would go with Fords ESP warranty. That's not to say that they're aren't any other skilled mechanics or other good warranties etc. Ford ESP will cover your repair at any Lincoln/ Ford dealership in any city in the country and Canada. Pay for rental coverage as well. Yes the stealership has held my edge hostage. Yes it can take longer than anyone would like to have their repair completed. Things happen. It's not the norm but the exception. As we are all aware there is a national shortage on parts for various manufactures. If the newish looking truck that you previously mentioned was there for service, it could be possibly due to whatever part needed to be replaced etc. When my car was at the dealership and it took them longer than a few weeks to replace the BCM. They needed a "Ford Engineer" to do some programing for it that the dealership techs were not able to complete. I work for the city and I drive from location to location. I can do as little as 0 miles a day or 50 depending on whatever the schedule for the day is. I paid $5/ day to cover regulatory rental fees etc.... I also had a new hybrid fusion.... The money I paid was pale in comparison to the money I saved in gas and the mileage I saved on their dime. I was also to recover the majority of rental fees from Ford Corporate. What other warranty/ company will do that?
  15. I guess I'm the only one surprised that the fuel door doesn't lock when the truck is locked? My coworker said someone drilled a hole in his daughters gas tank....Found the leak when his daughter called him and said the car wouldn't start despite putting gas in it before parking for the night..... He gets to her house with his emergency can.....poured gas in....gas poured out. I said aren't you glad that we have locking gas doors? He has a Nautilus. He said our doors do not lock.... I had to go check for myself..... SMDH Definitely learned something new today. I wouldn't even bother with the locking gas cap. Compare the price of R&R a new or used gas tank.... If a thief can siphon my gas without getting caught, they won the day! Just leave my gas tank alone!
  16. Someone feel free to correct me if i am wrong..... Your MY would use MFT/ SYNC1. Those units tend to die due to a variety of reasons. Don't feel as if you made a bad choice. next gen has similar not the same issues and they eventually die. You could reinstall the previous touch screen and find and or pay someone to program it for you. There are a few people here that can help you. That would require buying an OBD2 adaptor. I use this one.... OBDLink MX= OBD2 Bluestooth scanner You would also need to use FORScan. Or you can do as Enigma suggested and go aftermarket.
  17. Still looking for a used set......
  18. Are you referring to the rear seats? I don't think their is an option available for the edge to make them fold back up.
  19. @TXFRDOwner Can make you the correct harness for you. Point your browser in this direction for more info on the 4"to 8" conversion. http://www.2gfusions.net/showthread.php?tid=4050 HTH
  20. I have the one in the video. While it's not that obnoxious to remove and install, it can be a pain in the @$$ at times!
