You would have to be the first. You get to improve or restore life to a dying MFT/ SYNC2 unit. I guess this could be a cheaper alternative than swapping in complete SYNC3 kit.

Would you be open to crowd funding? It doesn't have to be any like a gofundme page etc. I can't speak for every member but I feel that I can honestly say that you're working for the collective good of the community! I would donate! Perhaps I'm alone in this but you may be pleasantly surprised if the option is available! Just a thought!

No worries, you're fine. My front grill is not open and I feel and appreciate the benefits. If the opportunity presented itself to get a modded grill, I would get one. From what I understand the airflow is increased by opening it up. @snmjim or @Special_K are in a unique position to answer any and all of your questions regarding speed. They helped develop the FMIC and CNC grill. If I'm not mistaken they installed the first one produced for a member here.

I don't think that anyone has subjectively measured just the FMIC, because most people usually do other mods in addition to the FMIC. We have the same package/ options. I don't run E30. I can't speak to what a typical improvement in regards to running E30. But I can say that without a doubt that your temps will come down and you will not suffer from heat soak unless under the most severe cases. Which translates into more runs at the track for you without having to wait for her to cool down! Currently Ultimate Performance is the sole provider of the FMIC. I received one that looked like a bakers apprentice made it! Called UP and Matt the owner gave me 2 choices. Refund or replacement. He said they have a new welder and asked if I could give him some time to get new cores and give them another chance. Due to life simply getting in the way, combined with Covid I damn near forgot about it. Dropped Matt a line and he stated the same. Refund or replacement. Nothing to talk about. Didn't give me a hard time or anything. I'm glad that I waited. I unboxed my FMIC and was greeted with a work of art. If you decide to go forward I hope your experience is the same if not better!

Welcome to the forum! Your best bet would be to have your tint metered at the tint shop. Depending on the brand of tint they carry you should be at the 10-15% area to match the factory tint. For example the OEM tint on my edge measured out to 20%.... doesn't look like much compared with the Llumar tint compared to the rear tint. I opted for 15% which is pinch lighter during the day and almost 100% match at night. You want to go darker on the front two windows because of the fishbowl windshield! It lets in so much light you def need to go lower on the front two depending on the shade/ quality of the tint. HTH

Apart from being old and outdated.... why did you replace the original radio? Did the original radio work? I ask because all you really need to install an aftermarket radio these days are the corresponding harnesses. Radio installs are typically plug and play. If your previous radio worked without issues then it could be the harness or the replacement radio. I like to check the cheapest/ easiest solution first.

Did your mechanic check for codes? Some codes can be disabled and leave a permanent trace I.E. frozen code. IIRC there was a recall on the 15-16MY for adaptive steering. I don't recall when the expiration date was. I'm pretty sure it expired though. Not to scare you but trying to inform you. There are a few different steering related recalls for your year. There is the adaptive steering one which I mentioned where they will replace the steering wheel, there is another where they replace the steering wheel bolt and another where they have to replace bolts in the steering gear box, There may be one, but I can't remember it off the top of my head. Good luck maybe the dealer can reach out to Ford on your behalf because the country was shut down and the vehicle wouldn't have been serviced for the recall if it was sitting on a dealers lot... That would be an angle, I would definitely peruse.

Now I have to ask.....why was the engine initially replaced and why was it replaced with an different engine than the one than the one that came with it. Unless the only engine available was a 2.0 and it was free... and the labor was free and the warranty was free etc

I can't speak to the level of your technical proficiency, Originally you had to download all the files individually and compile the install script etc.. Someone decided to build a better mouse trap! Here is a link to an site that will do all of that for you. All you need to do is follow their directions and have your USB drives ready....... I heard that the STs are equipped with the Bilstein B4 equivalent. Take that with a grain of salt. I heard it on the nets and you get what you pay for. What I can attest to is that H&R springs make for a tremendous difference in handling and cornering. H&R springs with the Bilstein B6 will make your car handle like a go cart on steroids! I can not recommend the combo enough!

Agreed its annoying. I had a 2003 Expedition with power fold seats. Want to lower them press the button.... want to raise them push the button.... I guess Ford decided that they were saving monies across the board..... Don't think you're missing out on anything by getting a new model..... New model....same nonsense. Perhaps if one of the Nautilus owners sees this they can let us know if they have power rear seats.

At the very minimum your new pads and rotors and labor should free! Time to find a new shop post haste!

Today's cars with all of their modern gadgetry and features require much more of a strenuous demand than say vehicles made 15-20 years ago. IMO aftermarket batteries tend to last longer than their OEM equivalents. I can get 5+ years out of an aftermarket battery and ~3 out of an OEM battery. Manufacturers cut corners wherever and however they can. They're not concerned with how long our batteries last. They're considered a consumable item. People will get them replaced at dealerships under warranty and move on if its not satisfactory or not convenient to go to the stealership. My brother had some crazy experiences.... IPC lit up like a Christmas tree on a few occasions... Random DTCs and CELs. Random starting issues.... Took it to the stealership and they took the entire day to test the battery.... Yeah you read that right! They took the entire day to "test the battery" They replaced it under warranty.... all of the issues went away... It happened again and he replaced with the largest aftermarket battery he could find. His edge has been rock solid for close to two years now! The stealership replaced my battery in April 19..... Seems like its starting to fail.... Guess I'll be shopping for a battery sooner than later.....
