That makes sense. I can see how the brushless fan would increase cooling efficiency.

Thanks for the info. Another question. How does that benefit the radiator and more importantly the brakes?
-
I was wondering if anyone was going to talk about the ST performance brake package. Since the calipers are the same, I'm of strong opinion that the front brake rotors are the same as the edge sport rotors. The ford webpage says larger 13.6" rotors....If you were to replace your front rotors today they ask if you have the 345mm rotors. 13.6in = 345mm! A quick google shows that the ST brakes are compatible with the sport. Are they any different or are they the same? What are the benefits of a brushless radiator fan?

Night and day difference! Its like being Hellen Keller and seeing and hearing in UHD and ATMOS for the first time. Its like breathing you can hold your breath but eventually you will breathe. Its like having sex, once you've had it you know you want it! You can't unsee, unhear and unhave sex. Unless you became dumb deaf and blind and a eunuch that's what stock feels like compared to being tuned!

According to the the HPTuner website, the 2.0 is not supported. You may have to call directly and see if it is supported. There is the possibility that their website is not up todate. https://www.hptuners.com/vehicles/ Nick is right, the only tuner at the moment to support the 2.0 is Livernois. https://www.livernoismotorsports.com/product/LPP631154 You can follow this thread for more info.... https://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/24536-20-lms-e30-tune/#comment-187493

Mazda makes some good looking cars. One of my neighbors has a new Mazda 3. I've been side eyeing the CX5. I really like the way she looks. Specs leave a lot to be desired but I digress..... Let me help you out with the warranty. Google these vendors when you have a chance. You can get much better warranty pricing by shopping online. Ask your dealership to match. The best warranty is a Ford ESP warranty. Anderson and Kotch, Flood Ford, Zeigler, Lombard Ford, Champion Ford One of the best things about shopping online for the Ford ESP is that you can get ZERO % interest financing. No credit check required.

Aesthetically speaking I always though that the 2014 edge sport would eventually have a cult following. Just did not realize that it would have a price too match so soon. Sounds like you are considering the 401A package. Personally I love it. The only peeps I have heard say that they don't care or don't miss it, is because they don't have it. Not knocking them, but it was on my must have list. I work in the field so things like cooled seats and 110V AC outlet come in handy etc Keep in mind that the more bells and whistles you have the more opportunity to for things to potentially go askew. Not trying to scare you, just being upfront. I would look at getting an ESP warranty for either vehicle.

Here are a few dishes that you should add to your feast of food for thought! Look at the cost of ownership/ maintenance involved etc. What needs to be addressed now and what can wait etc. Whether or not you will get an extended warranty etc. What type of warranty (what does it cover, how long is the coverage) will the dealership give you CPO vs regular Try not to focus on the monthly payment. Focus on the overall cost of the vehicle. Dealerships love fuzzy math that usually involves getting you the monthly number you want to spend but costing more in the overall grand scheme of things. Enjoy your meal!

Ask the dealer for an OASIS report. The OASIS report is a detailed list of any and all service/ warranty work that has been done at any Ford Dealership. If the repair has been reported to carfax then its a pretty good chance that the work has been done. This is a list of everything that is checked under the CPO program. https://www.ford.com/certified-used/about-certified/inspection/

Interesting point you made there. Funny the conversations one can have while shoveling snow. I was asking my neighbor how they would sell on his lot. He said if he could he could get it low enough at auction (between 8-12K) he would. He would take them on trade if it was in great shape and the person had realistic expectations. Here is the funny part, he said he wouldn't go out of the way to buy the 2012-2014 sport because they they would sit on the lot. The average buyer would want a newer one. They are too similar in price to the 2015s. If I was spending low/mid 20s I'd aim for the 2015.

Canoe on roof, where to tie it in the front?

I stand corrected. 401A package, cold weather package and 21" wheels sans performance brakes are in the low 40's! Thats a tremendous savings from the sticker price.
-
I couldn't fathom it. I had to take a look. I asked my neighbor who manages a dealership what they were going for. He said that they sell in the mid 20's based on mileage etc. He didn't realize they held their value like that. I said apparently neither did I. A 2015+ CPO Sport in the mid 20's is a good look! All depends on your budget

Fully loaded (including the high performance brakes) the ST is $50,070 before any incentives or discounts. There is nothing comparable at the base model price. The euro equivalents are actually a few bucks higher and Im sure you do not get all the bells and whistles as well.

I debated long and hard before purchasing my 2017 Sport over waiting for a 2019 ST. it took a while before the 2015+ grew on me. I like the front the rear not so much. But If I want to upgrade, I would do it within 2-3 years when the ST comes down to the low-mid 30's on the used market. I try not to buy new vehicles. Its not the price its the depreciation that bothers me. Like Nick said value is a made up number. I also like to think of value as what someone is willing to pay for an item. If I was considering shelling out 50+k There are other options that offer better performance / looks etc. I like the ST. Don't get me wrong, my post does not exhibit any hate towards the ST nor is a negative reflection of anyone who chose to buy a new ST. When and if the time comes for another vehicle I will give the ST a long hard look. By that time I hope and pray that whatever issues people are experiencing will be addressed and resolved by then.

All depends on your budget. I wouldn't consider getting a non sport version but thats just me. My lady doesn't mind. Then again her commute is less than 1 mile round trip. The dealership in the second link might want to consider selling whatever the fu*k they smoking cause that price is straight out ridiculous. The best thing about it is that it has low miles....... I'm sure the $6500 price difference is meaningless for a the discerning buyer who values a low mileage offering. The sport in the third link is appealing and the price is more in line with market values etc. It has 13K+ miles than the one in the second link. But it is also $6500 cheaper than the one in the second link. Esthetically speaking I like the look of the 2014 vs 2015. Performance wise I prefer the 2015+ If you were looking at the mid 20's then I'd suggest looking at the 2015 sport. All depends on your budget.

I was going to say that who ever installed it needs to have access to IDS but Perf beat me to it. If the dealership that you purchased your vehicle farmed out the service to an aftermarket installer then you may have to pay for the IPC update. If you paid the dealership directly for the install, the IPC programming SHOULD be part of the price. Emphasis on should. I just don't want to see you get charged for something twice. I can see where the dealership might have some wiggle room. But if I were them I would do it simply in the name of customer service. It takes all of 10 min. 5 min might be too long! Good Luck! Hope it works out in your favor!

I do not know if this pertains to your vehicle or not but the TSB#ASI-45145 may help to resolve the issue. Welcome to the forum! Where are you located in PA?

Odd. Sounds like a phone call is in order for clarification.

If you returned your 2016 to stock and still have your MyCalibrator you should be good for up to 5 vehicles. You can email them the serial number of your tuner and the ECU/ Strategy codes from your new vehicle and they will upload the new corresponding tunes for you.

Sounds like a great place to do business. Might have to check them out if I can't find anything closer to home when the time comes.

If you don't mind me asking, which dealership did you buy your ST from? I brought my Sport from Pundmann in St. Charles. I couldn't be happier with the entire experience!
