Rear Motor Mount (RMM) (2016 Edge Sport)
onyxbfly replied to snmjim's topic in Accessories & Modifications
They are using PayPal for the checkout process. If you do not feel comfortable with sharing your PayPal info. You can check out as a guest and just input your CC info. Also in the option/ note field. You should specify that they use the 60 Duro bushing . They may (accidentally )use the 70-80 Duro bushing used for the Fusion sport. -
Sync 3/Sirius XM Updates/ Phone Issues
onyxbfly replied to MJB3's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
You can remove Sirius XM as an audio option, which will remove the nagging Sirus XM update notification with Forscan. -
Nick is correct. 2019+ models are a new body style. There are aftermarket ones available on eBay. Ford Edge Honeycomb grille

Would you mind sharing the tremendous discount price? -
Rattles, squeaks and random assorted noises. They should not be evident in a vehicle that retailed for $50k give or take a nickel or a dime. I test drove a new one back in 2015 and the road noise and other noises were not there. Admittedly the one I drove had a bout 30 miles on it. If I brought the edge sport brand new and it squeaked and rattled and made noise 3 years later I'd be hella upset. Buying one used a few years later and saving on the depreciation, I can live with the noises. I just turn up the volume. LOL The 21" tire/wheel combo leaves a lot to be desired. Its not the price that bothers me. I'm not sure that a low profile tire belongs on a SUV. In retrospect they are fine on the highway. Crappy roads/ potholes ruin it for me. I'm considering going down to 20"s with a taller tire.

Pirelli makes two different winter tires in our size. Michelin makes a winter tire in our size. Atturo makes a a winter tire (ironic since they do not have an all season LOL)

Congrats on your new ride!

Your edge is 3 years old. I truly doubt that it has never rained nor has your edge been washed during that time period. This can not be the first incident of water entering the car. Unless an accident that occurred, which was repaired and not reported to the insurance company etc, There is no way that this is not a structural defect from the factory. After all they repaired dozens of them if not hundreds due to the same issue. I would reach out to Ford Corporate, ask about the oasis report and see if there were any previous related repairs.

I'd ask for the service writer or a tech to do a ride along and let them see it for themselves. On the way back to the dealership ask them to drive her back so they can feel the pull.

Adding Apple CarPlay to 2014 Edge
onyxbfly replied to Jguinee1's topic in Accessories & Modifications
You're welcome. This is the thread that Nick mentioned. You could show it to your dealership or you could show it to aftermarket car stereo shop. (probably cheaper and more practical than the dealership) Sync 3 installed in a 2012 limited. -
Adding Apple CarPlay to 2014 Edge
onyxbfly replied to Jguinee1's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Your dealership was being polite. An official sync 3 kit complete with an official part number doesn't exist! Sync3 can be retrofitted relatively easily. Ford simply wants us to buy new cars.... But alas there is hope. Depending on what he has originally installed will determine the price. If he has the 4" screen it might be simply easier to replace the head unit with one that does apple car play. If he has the 8" screen he can do a sync 3 conversion. sync 3 upgrade for myford touch Another alternative is buying a kit from a member on the Ford Edge World Wide Facebook page. It was mentioned to me in passing. Sorry I don't do Facebook. Perhaps @Nick Halstead can point you in the right direction. Nick is very helpful and he is a Moderator on Ford Edge World Wide HTH -
hub conversion 2015 Sport - retro hub conversion to 2014 hubs?
onyxbfly replied to Bobs2015EdgeSport's topic in Wheels & Tires
HHHMMMM I don't know about that one there. I'd have to look for a second opinion. Isn't steel an alloy? ? Seriously though steel is typically stronger than alloy. Perhaps he doesn't have the right set of tools for the job. On a different note would you mind sharing a pic of your steel wheels or a link? What I'm thinking of may not be remotely similar to what you have. My brother (15' edge sport) wanted a set of steelies for winter use. But he said he couldn't find anything larger than 18 or 19. Anything larger required 6 lugs. -

Another option which I find easier and more practical would be to have your wheels professionally redrilled. Many machine shops and rim shops can provide this service for you. Expect anywhere from $25-$50/ wheel. -
Going from 20 inch rims to 18 inch rims
onyxbfly replied to ccutaia1's topic in Accessories & Modifications
You can have the dealer make an adjustment or live with the speedo being .1-.3 mph off...emphasis on .1-.3 (depending on the speed you're at) The dealer will charge you for about an half an hour labor for it. Personally I'd live with it. -
At first glance I'd say that it's fugly. I do like the the dash. If it is leather or faux leather, as long as it minimizes the glare and reflection I'm all for it!

My 2017 with the 2.7 V6 EcoBoost has a plastic pan. Lord willing I will hopefully never suffer an oil pan leak. If I do I'll definitely ask the the dealer if the metal plan from the F150 is compatible or not.
-
I'd love a Fumoto valve for our oil pans, unfortunately since they are made of plastic they aren't available for 15-18 edges. One would have to think that after the plastic oil pan debacle on the F150 ,they would just make them metal across the board. Since plastic is infinitely cheaper than metal we know which direction the bean counters dictate the engineers in.....

Another honest assessment. Illustrating pros and cons. Maybe @GT500R and @Nick Halstead and others will chime in and share there thoughts feelings and or concerns. Thanks once again!
