  1. I just checked Sync My Ride finding I can download and order a new SD card. I just ordered my A4 Nav SD card. Once I receive the new card I'll do the update.
  2. I can't find the link at the moment. Ford's updating SMR sometime in January for people running MFT with Nav. They'll post a procedure for upgrading the software plus ordering a new Nav SD card version A4. Remember, you need the new SD card for Nav to work.
  3. Welcome to the club. I'm fortunate too because I don't see a lot of reboots, etc. I keep a flash drive in my center console in case I get the urge to reboot when the system acts funky. I do see a few minor issues, but my biggest problem; no weather maps during rain storms. I just pop the Nav SD card out for a few seconds which fixes the problem. Hopefully, the new update fixes everyones MFT problems
  4. I use the ">>" or "<<" on the tuning knob.
  5. I can't add anything except I agree with your comments. Hopefully, the kids can move on and forget about the madness
  6. I've never encountered any problems with the gas door freezing up. I live in a snowy area too. Also, no problems with the wiper blades
  7. I don't know about the lat and long input, but check out ProClipUSA for great GPS and phone mounts. I've used a few in various cars. A little pricey, but well worth the money. I sometimes mount my Nuvi next to MFT. My Nuvi responds to voice commands and every once in a while both systems respond to a command. Also, comical listening to each device provide turn directions. I find MFT's less chatting and forgiving if I decide to venture off a route.
  8. Here's a link describing Voice-activated Sync - http://www.ford.com/.../#page=Feature9 Ford Edge brochure - http://www.ford.com/...ostalCode=43566 Package 101A contains the following: Features include: Auto-dimming (electrochromic) rearview mirror Automatic headlamps SecuriCode™ keyless entry keypad Compass Reverse Sensing System Below floor cargo management Voice-activated SYNC® SiriusXM Satellite Radio I strongly urge you contact the dealer for demo and description of the options. You'll need a paid subscription for Sirius XM Sat radio after the grace period expires. I don't recall the time period for Sirius from the factory.
  9. Dingo, Why did you choose the Uniblade over the Flexblade? I'm curious because I used Flexblades on my Volvo and Edge. BTW, I do like their website; very informative. Thanks, Rich
  10. Here's an eays alternative to pulling the fuse - http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/8872-re-boot-for-my-touch/page__p__71262__hl__+reboot%20+usb&do=findComment&comment=71262 download the delayed reboot utility to a USB Falsh drive and insert into an available USB port. I generally run the utility and turn the car off and perform a reboot later in the day.
  11. System's rebooting because it's running low on avaialbe systems resources. Search the forums for additional info because we've discussed "scheduled maintenance" Ad nauseam
  12. A note re the latest update which fixed a minor problem. Remember in the previous version when creating a Nav Favorites the space bar was grayed out? Well, created a new favortie today with spaces in the name and I actually inclded spaces in the name. I know, minor issue, but generated a few threads of concern.
  13. Just to join the herd; mine's done. I had to manually start the installation process which took around 15 minutes total. Note, when performing the installation you'll encounter two reboots. Each reboot may take a minute before you see a screen; don't panic! Also, after the first reboot the screen states the install process may take twenty minutes. I ran the entire installation while driving home from work. You need to insert the USB and start the install while in Park. The only problem, you'll loose audio and phone communications during the installation so plan accordingly. If you're driving by yourself sing a few songs; who will care?
  14. Please check out the link, http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/11185-myford-touch-v32/ You'll find a discuss re: installing a new MFT version PLUS the temp's back on the screen.
  15. Although the Ford All Weather mats cover the foot rest area, they're meant for people who don't see a lot of snow in the winter. Both WeatherTech and Husky all weather type mats "contain" the snow and ice keeping your carpets dry.
  16. Husky All Weather mat comes up high enough to protect the foot rest. I tried the following in a Volvo XC70 I owned before the Edge. Picked up a cheap rubber floor mat at Wally World. I found tan one to match my carpet color for around $2.00; like I said, cheap! I apllied a couple of velcro dots to the back to mat and put into place, Remember, put the mat's bottom edge under your main floor mat. The mat held failry well and kept the carpet clean. My only concern, melting snow may trickle down and get under the main floor mat, but I never noticed a problem. A dead pedal? Great idea! I read a thread either on here or an Explorer forum talking about dead pedals on EBay. I looked the other finding many, but most required a bolt mount. You're correct, wish we found an OEM version.
  17. I went through a similar issue this spring. Car refused to start even when I inserted the key into the "emergency slot". I opened the manual reading up the procedure to confirm I'm not suffering from another moment of stupidity. I called my dealership and the service manager picked up. We confirmed I used the correct procedure. Next, I called AAA and waited a few minutes. Just for grins I tried starting the car which worked. Called AAA to cancel my tow call and drove to the dealership. Diag code came up indicating a faulty key fob which the deakership ordered. Yes, only thing we could chase. I've never encountered the problem again. I tried different batteries for the key fob too, but no clue why except maybe a bad key fob like the diags stated.
  18. I performed some fiberglass repairs on one of kayaks last year. I spent a few hours watching YouTube videos re: applying epoxy, etc. Also, since you'll need to make a mold search for fiberglass molding. I found a few videos, but didn't watch them. You may need to use a relasing agent between the wet fiberglass and whatever's the mold; just guessing here. Finally, if you use an epoxy or other resins pay attention to safety precautions. I've used epoxies in the past, but found my skin's allegic to certain epoxies. Trust me, I developed a rash like poison ivy. I hate poison ivy!
  19. Download the DelayedReboot zip file to a flash drive. Keep the flash drive in the car for rebooting the system when Weather's hung. I've successfully restarted the pesky weather app several times.
  20. I searched the site using the string. "calendar wrong date" finding http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/6884-2011-edge-calendar-issue/page__st__20__p__59691__hl__+calendar%20+wrong%20+date&do=findComment&comment=59691 pointing at http://boards.synccommunity.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?tsn=22&nav=messages&webtag=fordsyncmb&tid=3316 Hope the info helps
  21. I've never set up any waypoints on MFT, but Garmin allows a user to configure, via points. Basically, you add a destination along your intended route sving the destination as a way point. Next, create your route on the Garmin and include the via point(s). I'm going by memory and oversimplified the process. For example, if you leave northern Mass heading to northern NJ all mapping software wants to send you through NYC. Great, more traffic. I'll add stops along my route to force the GPS to use my route avoiding known traffic hotspots or take the scenic route I want instead of mapping software thinking for me.
