IMO, either one will look good. The 1st one will be a little easier to clean, as it does not have a slot in it.

WOW, the whole situation sucks - BIG TIME ! I would sit down with her, explain what a dumb ass mistake this was, and then tell her that her old man is a piece of shit. How could any parent in their right mind just sit back, and let their child get into a predicament like this? Sorry that she got shafted by the dealer AND her father, what I think of HIM (daddy) I cannot put on this forum, becasue the moderator would ban me forever. Maybe she can check out other financing (credit unions, banks, whatever) and get a lower rate. Hang in there, things have to get better.

Saw the servive tech last Saturday, said that he was still waiting to hear from Ford on a program rewrite, and he would check with them on Monday (yesterday), and get back to me. I'll heck with them in a day or 2, been tough around here, my wife's sister passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, funeral was today, and right now, not in the mood to check on this. Will post update when I get a answer. Joe

I stopped by my dealer this past Saturday with a cousin looking for a car, one of the service techs saw me and said that they have the update, and if I had a hour to kill, they would install it. Sounded good, but they didn't have the SD card for the Nav, so I told him I would wait until mine came in the mail with the card (hopefully soon). He said when I get it, to stop by, and they would do the update, and check to make sure that all is functioning correctly, so this is what I plan to do. Hopefully, it won't be too long before it comes in the mail. It's like waiting for Christmas to come !

Yup, you can't beat these dent repair guys. The wife has a dent in the drivers door and passengers door, no paint damage, just dents. My dealership put me in contact with this guy, did both dents for $90, a lot less than a body shop, and they probably would have used body filler and door repaint. Check it out.

That's how things work with many of the foreign cars, you want one option, you have to spend thousands more and get things you don't want, just to get the one item that you do want. Happened to a buddy of mine with a Lexus RX350. There was 1 option that he wanted, but would have to spend thousands more for things he really didn't give a shit about, now the wife is a unhappy person because they do not have satellite radio.

When it stopped closing the last 6 inches, did you try holding the button for it to close all the way ? Give it a try.

Look into a product called Cquartz. A member Richy sells and uses it, has pics posted on the Infinity he had, looked awesome, and was black. User Edgieguy also sells it, PM either one of them.

No gap on my MKX, tight as can be.

A family friend bought a CR-V a year ago. Looked at an Escape, our dealer/salesman gave a really good price, and there was 0 % financing, BUT, she stopped at a Honda dealership on the way home, had a salesman with a good bullshit line, and she got the CR-V - $1K cheaper then the Escape, but with financing for 5 years, she will be spending way more on the Honda. The CR-V is not a bad car, but in no way, shape and form, can you compare it to an Edge. Very noisy, way underpowered, and the interior is a much lower grade/quality. As a matter of fact, the plastic tray between the front seats broke after 3 weeks (she got the base model, so no console, only a flip up tray). She pretty much likes it for back and forth to work, but does not feel safe with it on the highway, One BIG disapoinment with her, is that she is only getting 15 mpg for her commute to work, which is all local. Hell, my MKX does way better than that, and I only have 2,500 miles on it !

I have to add a clarification, like Scorpio said, if ya don't need the room, why not go a bit smaller. I looked at the Explorer, nice, but couldn't justify getting a 7 passenger Explorer for the wife and I, PLUS, another big factor was that the new Explorer is so much wider than previous years,width-wise, it would just about fit in the garage unless the mirrors were folded in. Also, by the time I Loaded up with all options, the price really went up, so I figured that if I was going to blow that much money, why not go all the way, hence getting my MKX ! Like my late father always said, "you only go around once, and there is no luggage rack on a hearse" !

Hey FordGuru, While we don't have an '09 or '10 Edge or MKX, the system is probably like the one in my wife's '09 MKS. In the 3 1/2 years we have had her car, it has been flawless. Has voice commands, and the system are right on spot, when you are at Main St and Center, that's exactly where the icon is positioned. My "X" (2012) is off about 20-25 feet, not that bad, as compared to others. I hope that the upgrade and SD card will correct thqais. The factory nav that I had in my '06 Explorer, which a mechanic at our dealership bought, performed very well, but did not have any voice commands (piece of shit - only kidding). I think that you will be happy with your update. :happy feet: 3 cheers for Ford !

:happy feet: Go for it - get the Edge, you will love it. I have the MKX, yeah, a bit jazzed up over the Edge, but still, basically the same vehicle. Previously, has 3 Explorers ( '95, '02, '06) really liked them, but did not get another one, because I felt that they were too big for just my wife and I, so went smaller and love it. Rides and handles like a dream !
