  1. Congrats on your new Sport, and I'm sure that you will grow and love it more and more. Have the 3.7 in my MKX, and plenty of power for all your driving needs, unless you plan to enter the Indy 500, then you might want to pick up a 'stang ! I find the brakes more than adequate, a lot better than what's on my wife's MKS. What color/options did you get?
  2. GREAT, I'll pm you on this.
  3. Depending at what station I am at, when mine clicks off, I am able to add at least another 1 1/2 to 2 more gals of gas. Here in NJ, you are not supposed to pump your own gas, but I go to only 2 local stations, and the guys are okay with me Topping it off.
  4. OUCH, sorry to see this. Just a thought, do you think you could put this through insurance?
  5. What a great idea, I think I will have to go the "paint it" route. The black on Ingot Silver just doesn't hack it. Did Ford have a spray paint, or did you use the "brush on" paint? My wife's '09 MKS has the nozzles built in, they are in the plastic cowl around the wipers, and there are 3 of them, really gives a good spray of winndshield cleaner.
  6. Just keep it waxed, I usually do mine every 2-3 months, 3 being the max. I guess that having a heated garage helps out during the winter months. If I can find pics of my Explorer, I'll have to post them. The head mechanic at my dealership bought my Explorer, and is thrilled that it looked like brand new, minus 1 or 2 Tiny nicks, for it's age. It's his wife's daily driver, and she tells people that it's a couple years old, and they believe her. Enjoy the Edge, again, a sharp color !
  7. My dealer said that Ford is aware of the problem, and that there is a seperate program ( ? ) that is being rewritten to correct this tailgate closing problem. For now, some days it's fine, and other days it is a real PITA !
  8. Had a '06 Explorer Ltd, which was real "truckie" in it's ride. My '12 MKX (Edge twin) rides tons nicer, and coming from the Explorer, handles more like a sports car. The 3.7 is plenty quick enough for me, and if people want to call it a Wife car, then I guess people can start calling me Josephine, instead of Joe, but I WON'T wear a skirt ( ha-ha) !
  9. I'm sure the brownish color will look great. My prev ride ( '06 Explorer Ltd) was called dark stone. It was kinf of like a charcoal grey, with a tan/brown tinge to it. Looked great, and even at 6 years old, still got compliments on it. I must admit, my '12 MKX is Ingot Silver, and a lot easier to keep clean. Cellbine, your Edge looks real sweet.
  10. The first few weeks, mine seemed to be off a bit, then my salesman disconnected and reconnected the + battery cable to correct a problem with my Ipod (now fine), and the system rebooted, and all is now fine with the Nav system. Still waiting to see what improvements the new update will bring, a little slow at times, but for the most part, all is going well.
  11. I believe that 2.11 is the latest out there until the rewrite comes out.
  12. Your mirror covers should not be loose, take it back and get them replaced. It might be fasteners for the wheel wells, and it might not be. Just demand it's fixed.
  13. Miguel, Like I said in my post, you do "whatever floats you boat", it's your car, you do what pleases you. Maybe we should go back to white wall tires ! Just enjoy your ride.
  14. I doubt that there is any size difference between the years, but there is the 1 vs 2 hole difference. I wouldn't cut any holes. the mats will probably just rip, because of no extra reinforcement around the hole. My MKX came with Lincolns all weather mats, has the hole to punch out, but they did not do it, and they are staying in place, as is.
  15. My only advice for longevity with any vehicle, is to follow the recomended maintenance schedule. I've always followed "by the book", had a 1995 Explorer, averaged about 20K a year, sold it in 2002, with almost 150K on it, to friends for their daughter to have for college. She drove it back and forth from NJ to OH for years, just got rid of it this past summer, still ran strong, aand sold it for $1,500.
  16. My salesman suggested that if I encounter a problem, to disconnect the Posative battery cable for a minute or 2, then reconnect and start the car. The system will then reboot, takes a few minutes. He said this is better than pulling fuse 29.
  17. I would suggest to go out and by a product called Vinylex by Lexol. Put a few coats on the dash, and after a few hours, wipe down with a terri cloth towel. It should blend in the spots, or like akirby said, get it dyed or painted by a profesional. When my wife got her '09 MKS, I accidentally got black magic marker spots on her pebble colored leater seats. The dealer had a guy come in, her re-dyed the seat and upper door panel. and 3+ years late, all is still fine. Don't ask how I managed to do that, it's a looooong story, a stupid mistake.
  18. Sorry to hear that "the fix" cost you 670 smackers, but at least you problem is resolved.
  19. Well, yesterday the rear gate worked fine, was in the 20's, today it took multiple times to close it, and the temp wqas in the upper 40's so it's not temperature related. Since owning it, some days it worked when we had warmer outside temps, an some days wqas the opposite - go figure, just find a fix for this please !
  20. Real sweet looking, the best with it. Get it in a warm garage this weekend, and get a good coat of wax on it for Wisconsin winters.
  21. Yesterday, rear gate worked fine, temp in the 20's. Today, temp in mid 40's, took 2-3 times to latch, each tome I closed it, so it is NOT due to cold temps causing the problem.
  22. Let us know what your dealer does to fix this. The past 3 days, mine has been working okay, even opened and closed it about 6 or 7 times. Maybe it did need breaking in, I don't know. My mpg's have been pretty decent, too. Taking it easy, I have no problem obtaining 18+ in town, and have hit 26 mpg highway, and I only have 1,300 miles on it . Sync did a system maintenance yesterday pulling into the parking lot at church, will have to see how things go, but so far, no major problems, and voice commands working okay, too.
  23. Don't know 100%, but I think that the top section of the dash, on the passenger side pops open.
  24. Glad to hear that basically, you are pleaswed with the Edge, and GREAT as mileage to boot. As you stated, once the new upgrade comes out, all of us will see big improvements. Joe
  25. For some reason, this little man in the back of my head, is saying that it has something to do with the compass in the car, maybe nav related Not sure that's it, but you might want to check out your owners manual.
