  1. Hey Paul, Congrats on your Edge, and welcome aboard. Check the forum for headlightn upgrades, a fellow NJ member, Edgieguy, upgrades his Edge Sport. Joe
  2. Another new member from the Sunshine State - welcome aboard, and enjoy your Edge. Joe
  3. Looks like it just came off the showroom floor, the best with it. The pinstripe looks real nice on it, I don't think that I've seen a new Edge or MKX with it, gave me an idea for my "X" . :happy feet: Do yourself a favor, get a good coat of wax on it, or better yet, Cquartz. See member Edgieguy or Richie on this. Joe
  4. I think that the Lorenzo's are really a sharp looking wheel, and in my opinion, the A/R's look more like the 22's that are on the Sport. It's all up to what kind of look that you are looking for. The A/R's will be easier to keep clean. I have the 20" chrome on my MKX, they look sharp, but being a 15 spoke wheel, they are a pain to keep clean, and I bathe him weekly.
  5. When I got my MKX, I asked the salesman what exactly was the soundshield, and he said it was a extra layer of some type of film, that was added for quietness. He said the price of a windshield with soundshield, is probably twice the price of one without.
  6. None of the gaugues sweep upon startup with my '12 MKX, yet, my cousin has a '12 MKZ, and all of her gauges sweep upon startup. She got hers the end of Oxtober of 2011, and I got mine end of November.
  7. Have the OEM 8 incher in the dash, luv it !
  8. Welcome aboard, and the best with your new Edge. Yeah, us "new owners" knew of the hiccups, and like you said, I;m certain that the new update will resolve our issues. My MKX is the 14th Ford product we have owned. Had a 1995 Explorer, sold it at 7 years old to friends for their daughter for college, she just got rid of it last year, and I think she had 235K on it, when she sold it for $1,400, and still running strong on original engine and trans, with no overhauls or rebuilds ! :happy feet: Keep them serviced as per maintenance chart, they will run for a Long Long time !
  9. I have the Bissell "little green steam machine" (or whatever the hell they call it) and it works GREAT. One thing I do when I first get a new car, is to treat the carpeting, especially by the door sill area's with scotchguard for carpeting.
  10. Hey Captn, Friends have bought weather tech and very pleased with them. Years ago, one of my friends bought the kind that "glue on", and after a few years, car washes destroyed them, so go with the "in channel" style. Joe P.S. Where in northern Ohio R U ? Visit friends in Burton & Northfield at least once a year.
  11. Thanks Richy & Ladybird4, will have to give it a try when the wife gets back home. Her sister was released from the hospital today, nothing more they can do (has battled a very aggresive cancer for 19 months), so my wife is there 24/7 until the weekend, when her sons "fill in". Will try your suggestions when she gets back home. Joe
  12. You might try and disconnect the neg battery cable for 5 minutes, then reconnecting. This will force the system to reboot when you start back up, will take a minute or 2 to do this. Has solved many problems. You wil need a 10 mm wrench for this. If this doesn;t work, I would go back to the dealer, and get paperwork after your visit, for backup, in case of any problems (hopefully not) down the road. I remember a saying from years ago (being in I.T. for a living) - "To error is human, to really foul things up, requires a computer". (MFT)
  13. I think that the Sport 22's look friggin awesome. Considering looking into the 20" Sport look wheels that will be coming available on the 2013's.
  14. Hi Ladybird4, Got my wife a Iphone 2 weeks ago, paired it to her '09 MKS & my '12 MKX. Set as favorite in her car, all is fine. She took the MKX out yesterday, tried to connect her Iphone, she said it would not connect. I haven't had a chance to check things out, her sister in the hospital, and she's been running back and forth. Any suggestions on what to do would be appreciated. Thanks, Joe
  15. Just curious, YanksWinAgain, what dealership did you get your Edge at? I got mu MKX at Maplecrest, over in Union, have a servicde dept that I have been VERY satisfied with. Been with them for 3 1/2 years, since my wife's '09 MKS. Joe
  16. Good job there, c_bova, they look good, now to see how they perform. Joe
  17. Better to have a little "extra: than none at all. I could picture taking a trip out to Ohio, being in the middle of Pa, with no gas stations for many miles, and realizing that I am about to run dry. Been driving a hell of a long time, and even on road trips, if I get to the 1/4 mark, I refill.
  18. Richy, I have to agree with you, the heated seats are just fine, but remember, we have 3 temp settings in the MKX, the Edge has 2 settings, like my wife had when she drove her Five Hundreds, but they were fine. Beats not having them at all. I do the same as you with the headlights. Joe
  19. I don't know for sure, but you might first try something as simple as taking the battery out of the phone, and them putting back in. If that doesn;t work, then try disconnecting (unpairing) the phone from the car, wait a minute or 2, and then reconnecting (pairing).
  20. Let us know how they look after installation.
  21. :happy feet: Halaluliah ! Glad to hear this. Joe
  22. The upgrade to the audio system sounds like a damn good idea, and can't beat the price. Illuminated sill plates are really great, have them on my MKX, even the wife things they are pretty cool looking. I only wish that they nhad them for the rear, too. I guess the Eibach spring swap is a matter of one's likes, will it effect handling in any way, to make it better. It's your decision, do whatever floats your boat ! I'd like to do something to mak my MKXmore unique, without effecting warranty, but don't know what. Joe
  23. At least in the MKX, and possibly an option for the Edge (at least the limited & Sport models), the followiing (my wife's MKS has both) 1.) Four way power lumbar, not only in & out (harder/softer) but also to go up and down. 2.) Auto highbeams - turn on automatically when needed. There is a sensor that turns them off if another car approaching, or if there is a car close in front of you. 3.) A GREAT feature that I had on my 1993 Taurus SHO was power seat bolsters - had them for the seat cusion AND back support. Talk about a seat to fit everyone, that was the ultimate !
  24. Just today, I told my wife that when the update comes out, we will be loosing the center temp display, and she was upset. She had to bust my chops, and said "what kind of piece of crap are you driving?"
