Hey Steve Don't give up, you'll find a dealer willing to work with you. Being in Jersey, I know that there is a dealer in Staten Island, I think the name is DANA Ford. Did you give them a try? As NatG suggested, try some internet quotes. I know if you go on website EDMUNDS.COM, there is a spot where you can put in info for internet quotes, and some delerships will give an additional $500 off, if you go through internet sales. To me a very important factor is the service department. Check the dealerships, and ask if their service department get the Presidents Award? If not, I would shy away from them. This is based on passed experience, take it for what it's worth. Years ago, a friend did not take my advice, went to a high sales volume dealership, to save an additional couple of hundred dollars, and got screwed when it came time to get the car serviced, when he had a problem. LOL Joe

MyFord Touch Updates set for 1st Qtr. 2012
JOEHIO replied to HFord57's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
PhillyAnt My dealer said to disconnect the posative for 5-10 minutes, then reconnect. It's supposed to do a complete shutdown, then when you reconnect, the system will do a complete system maintenance, which might take a couple of minutes. I better keep my fingers crossed until the update comes out. Did this once, and it seemed to correct the problem of cold air coming out of the defroster when the temp ws set to 72. -
Jim I don't know about the dash light problem, but when I had my '06 Explorer, ( was a 6 disc changer), I would have problems ejecting most cd's. When I would hit eject, I would have to take another cd, insert it part way into the slot, to help guide out the existing cd's. Dealer said it was because many of the newer cd's were a trifle bit thicker, causing the problem. I just learned to live with it, because after the warranty expired, the dealer said that possibly the cd player was defetcive, and I didn't want to spring for a new one, because it also had nav. Needless to say, I did switch dealers. Wish you luck. Joe

Have the HID's on my MKX, and am very pleased with both low & high beams. Yeah, I did load up with the Elite pkg, 20" chromies, wood pkg, but what the hell, I'm only going around once. Ford should make the HID's standard equipment, as a safety feature.........................they really improve night vision. Car manufacturers can now give you airbags up the ass, why not make HID's mandatory ??? .

My MKX has the soundscreen windshield, and the car is so darn quiet, it's unreal. Second line from the bottom starts out with number BA__________

My MKX is too new ( 2 + months) to see rust, but the wifes MKS is 3 years old, and never a sign of rust, I must admit, I hand wash every week, and do clean them, too. If I helped a friend with a car, and there was light rust on chrome parts, I used ultra fine steel wool and car wax, worked for me !

Thank you, FordGuru, for clarifying this. I have posted this same thing in the past, that the service tech at my dealership, said that if I did run into a problem, to disconnect the Posative battery cable for 5-10 minutes, for all systems to completely shut down before reconnecting. Some on this forum have posted that it is safer to do the negative cable. Your opinion on this please? Thanks, Joe

Really "sweet", the best with it, and hope that you are feeling better, too. Joe

Hey Richy, I was right there when they disconnected/reconnedted the posative cable, when I thought I had a problem with the car, and it actually was a problem with my Ipod. I'll call them tomorrow to see what they say on this, will add a post asap. Joe -
LED Turn Signal Indicator on the Mirrors for 2012
JOEHIO replied to latinsazon's topic in 2011 Edge & MKX
Hey Frozennuts, they really look great, thanks for posting the pics. will try and order these, as I'm thinking about them for my wife's '09 MKS. Joe -
Welcome, Dennis. Good to have you on the forum. I am of Polish decent, know just a few German phrases that my friend taught me, and I know if I posted them, they would get bleeped out. The paint on your 'Stang looks great, what kind of Polish/Wax are you using on it? Joe

All I can say is "DITTO" to what Ricjy posted. Back in '06, I wasted $500+ on a dealer installed protection package on my Explorer, which in my opinion, was worth shit. Listen to what Richy said, he knows his stuff.

:happy feet: Welcome aboard, Rob. It will be GREAT to have another "Ford Tech" on board, to help out those in need. I'm waiting for the update to come out this 1st qtr (hopefully), and a reprogram for the rear liftgate that closes when it wants tom on the first try on my MKX. Otherwise, it's been great, on occasion MLT a bit slow, but for the most part, been pretty darn good. You'll have tom post pics on your Edge. Joe.

2011 Edge/MKX My Touch and Sync Problems
JOEHIO replied to akirby's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Had the wife's MKS in thisn past week for LOF & tire rotation, talking with the Service tech about problems people are having, he said until the update isn out, disconnect the Postive(red) battery cable for 5-10 minutes, not just a few seconds or 1 minute. He said that, like a computer, every app should shut down completely before reconnecting (reboot). This dealership ( Maplecrest ) is the same one that helped out another forum member out in 'Vegas, who's dealership had no idea about the program rewrite for the rear liftgate. -
Enjoy thenew Sport when you get it, you'll love it. Soak the foot in warm water with Epsom salts.

That's right, listen to Dingo....................the man knows it all. The '12's have a smaller mirror housing than the '11's.

LED Turn Signal Indicator on the Mirrors for 2012
JOEHIO replied to latinsazon's topic in 2011 Edge & MKX
Yes, a bit chilly outside for you ! I can see why you have the name that you have, mine would be frozen, too ! I think that in Europe, they are ahead of the U.S.A. in may respects regarding safety issues. I'm glad to see that they are putting the indicators on the Edge and MKX, and in my MKX they were standard equipment when you order at least equipment package 101A, they should be STANDARD on all models. A good idea to have them visible from the rear, too.
