To me, Ford ESP Premium Care, is like TERM Life Insurance, you're damn if you do, and damned if you don't. Took it ( 7 yr, 100,00 miles) on the wife's '09 MKS, and taking it on my '12 MKX. Yeah, it is costly, but, MAJOR repairs (engine, trans, electrical) can run into THOUSANDS of $$$$$$, so to me, it's worth the protection. Lets say you took a 20 year term life insurance on yourself and spouse, and after 20 years, you're still here, does that mean you got screwed ? I just like you play safe. You're choice ! Joe

I have '12 MKX, my wife and I were out on the NJ Turnpike for a trip to southern NJ, reset the MPG indicator, had the cruise set at 65 mph, and got a constant reading of 25.1 & 25.2 mpg, very happy with this figure. The MKX comes with the 3.7 engine. Around town, I avg about 16mpg, if I baby it, I can see a increase of 17 mpg.

I like the look, kind of Edge Sport style.

Luv my MKX, especially the front end styling. While Eatinitup might not like the front of the MKX as much as his Edge, I think it is in poor taste to comment as he did. I luv my MKX, and all the luxury it offers, yes, it has spoiled me a bit, but WTF, only going around once !

True, you cannot completely turn the rear vents off, but if you slide the lever to the leftmost on the left, and right on the right, it does restrict the amoount of air that comes through the vents. Give it a try. Joe

Went this route years ago with my '06 Explorer. A BIG waste of money, just get a good sealant on it, doing it yourself. Leather care was a waste too. I have used Connelly's leather products and very pleases with results.

I just got a Iphone 4S, and all is working fine, Verizon is my carrier. I didn't know that I had received a text, but got in my MKX, and as soon as I started it up, the text notification came through. Phone before this was a LG450 ( I think) and that also worked fine.

Check your owners manual, it will list what should be done for the 60,000 maint program. I believe that it might include tans fluid & filter, cooling system flush, and other things. I have always followed what Ford suggests, had a '95 Explorer that I sold to a friends daughter at 140K, she sold it last summer with 235k and still running strong.

If you're handy, try rubbing it out yourself. My wife put a scratch on the top edge of her trunk lid on her MKS, took it into the dealer, and at no charge, they wet sanded it out, you wouled never know a scratch was there, and that was 2 years ago.

Looks nice, mayve they should have an option "touring" package to offer this paint scheme. My "X" is silver ingot, and with the black panoramic roof, and window trim, I don't mind the black lower valance panels, but I do like the change that it makes to the car.

Had very few problems with voice recognition. Problems encountered when I'm trying to use voice commands, and my wife is talking to me, otherwise, all has been fine.

Wow, definately a difference. The question is 1) do you live with it, or 2) take it in for a respray, and hope that they do a better job. My MKX is 6 monhs old, and Silver Ingot matches perfectly. Wish you the best. Joe

Have the BAMR in my MKX, no mic problems with it at all. I guess I had better keep my fingers crossed.

I have Ingot Silver MKX, luv it cause it doesn't get dirty, but darker colours outshine kighter ones.

Check with Ford, even though your father in law has passed, you might still be entitled to discounts.

I'm in New Jersey, can't help you with anyone in your area, but I want to tell you NOT to waste money on dealer protection packages. Back in Dec '05, when I got my '06 Explorer, the dealer convinced me to go with the paint/interior protection package for $495, what a waste of money. It didn't seem to give any great paint protection, wound up waxing it myself, which I did from that day on, doing it every 3 months or so. Many in the forum clain collinite waxes are very good, might want to look into it, or go to website WWW.LIVE2DETAIL.COM, get some tips there. LOL Joe
