  1. Or you can just look for the appropriate forum and post it there. The moderators are lazy. If you have a 2015 or 2016 it would best to post it in the 2015-2016 section.
  2. Ask the people with 2007 Edges that sat on dealer lots for 8 months waiting for a new gas tank whether plastic is better than metal......
  3. Obviously for the "whoosh" sound......
  4. Also - don't accuse people of trolling when they're not trolling.
  5. I'm not disputing that money is made on parts replacement but Ford has to eat the cost (parts and labor) for a warranty replacement. In turn they may charge the supplier for some or all of that cost depending on the supplier contract. So even if Ford made some money from non-warranty parts replacement you have to factor in the additional warranty costs. I don't think this is a business goal. You're correct that the reason Ford may not be moving fast enough to re-engineer some of these parts (or not doing it at all) is $$$ but it's the cost involved in re-engineering the part not the revenue they may or may not be getting from parts replacement. There are dozens of examples of Ford re-engineering parts to address problems. They just don't seem to do it all the time. And you can say all day long that Ford is the dealer and the dealer is Ford but nothing could be further from the truth and we have state laws that say so.
  6. Ford and GM do not share engines at all. Even the 6F trannies that were co developed are different. And I don't know where you got the idea that Ford makes money on bad parts but they don't. Ford has to spend a lot of money on warranty repairs - parts and labor. The dealer gets the labor but the dealer isn't Ford.
  7. On my MKX it seems to work pretty much anywhere (I have the aftermarket Hidden Hitch). Just test it and see what works best on yours - could vary. On our 2014 Escape I had installed an aftermarket hitch but it blocked the sensor and you could only kick in one spot on each side right next to the exhaust. But that shouldn't be a problem on the Edge.
  8. Yes - just hold the button until it gets to where you want it or hit the button a second time to stop it if it's going by itself.
  9. You should make a forward kicking motion as if you were touching the underside of the bumper with your toe about 6-8 inches back from the edge. Some people do a waving or sideways motion and that doesn't always work.
  10. I would have sworn I answered this already. Did you post it somewhere else? You're probably opening it all the way and if you do that you must crack a window as James says. If you press the open button once and let it open until it stops that's the "comfort position" and you shouldn't get the buffeting or droning. Only open it all the way at lower speeds.
  11. Did you test the old coils? They could have been bad. I guess now the only way to find out is to wait and see if the pcm fries the new coils. It's possible they were bad. It's also possible they jumped on the most likely diagnosis without actually testing the coils. Hard to say at this point.
  12. Heat can rob a bit of power but not that much. One of the benefits of the Ecoboost engines is lots of torque at low rpm. I think you're just noticing the throttle tuning as TourGuide says.
  13. What about these? http://can-am.brp.com/content/dam/canam-spyder/Global/MY2016/Image/Lineup/RS-S/2016-Spyder-RS-S-Magma-Red-Steel-Black-Metallic_3-4-front_2.png/_jcr_content/renditions/cq5dam.web.480.480.png
  14. See if this link works when the site comes back up. I think it has pics of the hitch on my MKX. http://lincolnmkxforum.com/topic/1180-2016-mkx-hidden-hitch-install/
  15. You could always get a MKX if you want all those features, which is Ford's point. Euro Edge cost more in line with a MKX than a NA Edge.
  16. Euro Edge and Mondeo have a lot of MKX and MKZ features like folding mirrors, adaptive LED lights, etc. because Lincoln isn't sold in Europe (yet).
  17. My 2013 Fusion and 2016 MKX use two but they also have bi directional remote start - maybe that makes a difference.
  18. Easier and cheaper to just trade for one that does have it.
  19. Just get a hidden hitch for $180. It sits below the bumper, doesn't interfere with the lift gate kick sensor and the cross bar is not visible. The factory option is at least $1K if not more. I can post a pic if necessary.
  20. e Check the Bluetooth settings on your phone just to be safe.

    Waving?

I had one of these in college - does that count?
  22. You tried it on all 4 doors and none of them worked? There are different sensors for each side of the car and it's doubtful you'd have 2 bad sensors at the same time. And that would not stop the unlock button on the fob from working. Sounds like the module that controls the locks is fubar'd (not sure what it's called - front end module, body control module, etc.) They should have a troubleshooting procedure especially if it can be recreated.
