There is no snake oil here. Ford very specifically lists the parts that are or are not covered and the covered list is quite extensive, but it isn't bumper to bumper and Ford doesn't advertise it that way. Your dealer obviously overstated the coverage and you didn't bother to read the documentation. So blame your dealer but not Ford.

Nice! I think it's also a fairly simple DIY procedure - it's all electronic now - no cables.
-
Always read the fine print - it lists exactly what is or is not covered, regardless of what the salesperson said. That said I would have thought it was covered but from what I can see Ford is correct - it's not covered by the premium ESP. That's one reason I never buy them although Ford's Premium plan is way better than the 3rd party plans. I really think Ford should extend the factory warranty on these and the door latches.

Exactly.

Did you try pressing the down arrow as instructed? The menu may scroll.

You should pull the battery cable and see if you can reproduce that type of failure.

Ventilated/cooled seats in the 2016 fixed?
akirby replied to mjonis's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Well that sucks. -
Please don't start multiple threads on the same topic. As I said on the other thread, the front doors will open just by pulling on the inside handle (once for the fronts, twice for the rears) - no need to unlock the door first. Did you try pulling the inside handles or did you just assume you had to unlock the door first?

All you had to do was pull on the inside door handle and it would have opened. Doesn't matter whether the doors are locked or not. The shifter problem is well known.

I think that's true even if the dealer adds the factory hitch because you're not getting the upgraded cooling and other things that come with the factory tow package. The hitch itself is the same and attaches the same way.
-
Assuming the Ford dealer is using Ford parts it should look just like stock. I think you can get wire holders that attach to the hitch which would be more like OEM. Just for reference, you can get an aftermarket hitch and wiring for about $250.

Tire Recommendations Would Be Much Appreciated

They can certainly ask the dealer nicely. -
Those are DRLs - daytime running lights. They're off by default in the US (mandatory in Canada). The dealer can turn them off.

Your reply seemed to indicate you were waiting for Ford to respond about it and were disappointed they had not. -

Ford has nothing to do with how the dealer runs their business. In fact it's against the law for Ford to even attempt to interfere, -
Nope.

There are 2 types of fabric protection - water based (scotchguard) and silicon based professional formulas. Water based lasts about 6 months - silicon lasts 3 years. Back in college we had a 5 gallon drum of the silicon stuff that came with a 3 yr warranty. I used to spray paper towels and they would hold several ounces of liquid without leaking for a few minutes. I don't know if you can get silicon retail. Just make sure to reapply the scotchguard every 6 months.

Driver floor is SOAKING WET
akirby replied to Blue_Edge15's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
It's almost certainly not the same problem. Likely causes are a clogged moonroof drain ( if you have a moonroof ), a bad door seal or a clogged ac evaporator drain.- 480 replies

So he thinks it accelerated by itself without him touching the gas pedal?

Tire Recommendations Would Be Much Appreciated
akirby replied to tamugrad2013's topic in Wheels & Tires
It's not quality at all. Softer tires grip the road better and ride smoother. The trade off is they also wear faster. Some Michelins will last longer than others. Personally I'd rather have better performance and comfort than high mileage. I would never want a tire that lasted 80k miles. Roads also make a big difference. -
Sorry. - didn't see the MKS part. Try blueovalforums.com

Michelins are expensive but the only issue I've ever had was the center strip wearing prematurely on the pilot sports. But I've also had good luck with the Contis. -
You forgot the huge gains in mpg......

Doesn't the driver still control the throttle?

If it was only the strapping the tanks would not have leaked, right?
