  1. The crossbar is hidden and it doesn't block the sensor. http://lincolnmkxforum.com/uploads/gallery/album_10/med_gallery_932_10_117255.jpeg
  2. Interesting - had never heard of colored fluid but that would make sense for leak detection. Especially on a race car.
  3. None of that stops the internal heat from the PTU itself which is the main problem.
  4. It is surround sound and it's the entire package not just the speakers. It's become my favorite feature and we only have the 12 speaker system. Well worth $1K and completely blows away the Sony system in my fusion.
  5. That's another reason to go with the hidden hitch - doesn't seem to interfere with the kick to open feature.
  6. Pretty sure dark or even black also means it's absorbed water. I don't think I've ever seen rust colored but I could be wrong.
  7. Why the Curt instead of the hidden hitch? Just curious - with HH you don't see the crossbar.
  8. Bad. It should be clear. Won't hurt to replace it.
  9. As a friend and former Ford transmission engineer told me - if the filter is clogged the tranny is already toast. You don't need to change it.
  10. The THX system was designed by THX engineers and calibrated for each vehicle (supposedly). It showed up first on the Lincoln LS sometime between 1999 and 2002 - there were quite a few articles about it back then. It has significant power but like the Revel systems it's used for precision and clarity not volume or boom booms. You can get DVD-A discs online but only for a few artists and albums. Never took off in the audiophile world.
  11. It's easy to put a new engine in an older car - much harder to put an old engine in a newer one due to throttle by wire, electronically controlled trannies and all the interactions between the computer and the engine and tranny.
  12. I've had excellent experiences with both Michelins and the Conti Cross Contacts.
  13. Probably not. Even if you got the hardware to work the software to drive it isn't there.
  14. Sorry that was supposed to be a link to the actual timing chain part on fordparts.com.
  15. I've used Pro-Fit mounts in the past - they usually attach with a screw behind an existing trim panel.
  16. It cools by venting cold air through the holes. With nothing on it the cold air just dissipates. It's not going to cool the leather. Just put your hand on it and you should feel the cold air.
  17. Try pulling the sync fuse - should be listed in the owner's manual. You can also pull the negative battery cable to reset everything.
  18. Our 2008 Edge did fold flat and it was great. I don't believe the newer ones fold flat.
  19. With Ford ESPs (the only kind to consider) you have up until the bumper to bumper warranty expires to purchase the ESP. After 12 months the price goes up $100. The time and mileage are inclusive of the factory warranty. So a 7 yr, 100K mile ESP only buys you 4 yrs and 64K miles of additional bumper to bumper coverage (within the limits of the ESP covered parts) and only an additional 2 yrs, 40K miles on the powertrain warranty.
  20. A wagon lover is never going to like a CUV for the reasons you mentioned. Completely different preferences.
  21. Flood Ford is one recommended vendor. There are a couple of others - do a forum search.
