  1. That's what I was going to suggest, although that won't protect against something really sharp or really heavy.
  2. Which is why it's strange that global open only works on the front windows on the 2015+Edge and there does not appear to be a global close feature based on the reports above and the owner's manual.
  3. According to the OM the Edge does not even have global close, only global open and only on the front windows. Very strange. Pretty sure the MKX has global open and close on all windows but I can't test it until Sunday.
  4. Not if it's in the driveway and you're inside the house with no windows.
  5. I just tried surround for the first time. I prefer stereo. bass +2 mid -2 treble +3 fader 0 balance 0 (that's for my 2013 Fusion btw - the MKX has the Revel Audio).
  6. Global close only works with windows that have pinch sensors. I would be surprised if that didn't work on at least the front windows.
  7. I would get 4 along with winter wheels - easier to swap out and keeps the stock wheels in better shape. Then again I live in Atlanta. If it snows 1" we just don't drive anywhere.
  8. I've never had trouble with voice commands on MFT. Ford added physical buttons to most vehicles the last couple of years. With physical buttons and sync3 I can't imagine any system being better right now.
  9. Looks like a crappy dealer to me. Ford only authorizes the repair - they can't do the work.
  10. Have you tried playing with the dash dimmer control?
  11. You have Sync or MFT? Only had Sync3 in the MKX for a week or so but it is night and day above MFT. From the pictures I didn't really like the display colors but in real use I have no complaints. It's lightning fast, intuitive and it stays on the last screen selected (audio e.g.) instead of always going back to home. Voice recognition is improved and is much faster. I don't see how it could get any better other than being more customizable.
  12. Got the hitch installed yesterday. Looks great and it was only $163. http://lincolnmkxforum.com/topic/1180-2016-mkx-hidden-hitch-install/
  13. If it didn't come with Nav it would say Information so you definitely have Navigation. Dealers should have extra cards or you can buy one from the dealer or eBay.
  14. There is a picture in the installation instructions here: http://www.etrailer.com/instructions.aspx?pn=87696 I just got the hidden hitch late yesterday and will be installing it tomorrow on my 2016 MKX.
  15. A message pops up on the left hand screen that says "replace fob battery"
  16. The battery is already dead. The question is how to open the liftgate without power. I thought the button was mechanical but now that enigma-2 mentions it - it might be electrical only. In that case you'd probably have to put down the back seat and pull the rear cover up from inside. Won't be easy but should work. Or just buy new cables or a jumper box.
  17. The vehicle will tell you when the battery gets low. The one in my 2013 Fusion was just replaced after 3 years. Two CR2025 batteries.
  18. 3. Anytime you think you may be right, see #1 and #2.
  19. MKX interior is significantly upgraded. I don't think the MKZ gets the upgraded interior until the new 2017 model. That was a common complaint with the 2013-2016 Z.
  20. I would get the tranny fluid swapped out.
  21. We drove a Titanium Edge and Reserve MKX back to back. The MKX was $7K more. We now own the MKX. The seats and the sound system are amazing. And for the last several years we've chosen Titanium Fords over Lincolns because we didn't necessarily like the styling and there wasn't enough difference to justify the added cost of the Lincoln. That's most definitely changed now.
  22. If you think the 2015 Edge is quiet (and it is) you would be blown away by the new MKX. It's that much better.
