If those features had been standard the price would have been higher. Cheaper vehicles with those features standard are missing other features that Edge has. It's just a question of how the mfr packages the options.

You can't turn the AC on or off via the steering wheel, but my point was that you don't really need to - just adjust the temp as needed and let the auto climate control do its thing.
They will stay powered on until the door is opened for sure. After that it seems to vary by model. Sometimes one port stays powered and one doesn't. Just test it by shutting off the vehicle and opening the door, then check the ports.
I meant check the one you found online for a 2016 and see if they offer the same model number for a 2014. Not definitive - depends on whether they did actual research or just assumed it fits.
But it's not a separate button. It's one big circuit board. If one button failed on your wall oven do you think you could buy one button to fix it? You have to buy the entire circuit board and whatever it's attached to.
Why do you need to turn it on and off manually? Just let the auto climate control manage it. I don't think I've touched my A/C button in years. Auto climate will turn it on and off as needed.
I don't know what's underneath the touch button - it might be possible to clean it.
Sounds like yours might be due to something being loose with the driveshaft based on the clunk and that it doesn't always happen - that should be easy to diagnose.
