    Ford Edge 2012

All your questions are answered in the owner's manual. If one did not come with the vehicle you can find a pdf at owner.ford.com or www.motorcraftservice.com. My buddy is a former Ford transmission engineer and he recommends every 60K transmission fluid changes (or sooner). Let the dealer do it - they have a machine that changes almost all the fluid through the cooler lines. Much more effective than a traditional pan drain and refill.
  2. Sometimes they forget to lower the air pressure before delivery. The factory sets it high so the tires aren't as likely to flatspot during shipment. Our MKX with the 21" wheels were 4-5 psi too high on delivery and it does affect the ride.
  3. Merle Haggard/George Strait/Loretta Lynn country? Or Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride country? Or Luke Bryan/GA FLA line country?
  4. We bought the MKX over the Edge mainly because of the seats. But I don't have lumbar issues. Seat comfort is a very individual thing.
  5. I would suggest having an independent body shop look at it. This shouldn't be that hard to track down. The hood only attaches at 3 points plus the bump stops. One way around the "it's normal" BS is to have them test another vehicle and see if it does the same thing. With the hood closed, grab the back above the wipers and see if it moves. If not (and assuming the bump stops have been adjusted correctly) then I'd say you have a faulty hood latch that's not holding the hood tight against the bump stops.
  6. No benefit to changing the viscosity. Ford tests the factory spec in more extreme temps than you'll ever see.
  7. Flood ford is mentioned a lot. Floodfordesp.com
  8. If you have 2 working keys yes. If you only have 1 the dealer has to do it.
  9. Press the left button on the left steering wheel d-pad to get back to the menu. All explained in the owner's manual.

  11. On the Escape after installing the aftermarket hitch I could nail it every time by touching the top of my foot to the bumper right next to the passenger side exhaust.
  12. No but you only need to skim through it once to see all the bells and whistles that are available.
  13. But I bet there are others who would rate the same seats a 7 or higher. That's the point.
  14. You're not supposed to move your foot back and forth - make a kicking motion like you're kicking the underside of the bumper.
  15. Actually it probably is a good place but you need to be able to take both the happy owners and unhappy owners with a grain of salt. Just like online product reviews or movie reviews. Why they're happy or unhappy is more important than the percentages.
  16. Firm seats can be the most comfortable (just like firm mattresses) but some people perceive that as uncomfortable if they're used to very soft cushy sofa like seats. With almost any seat design you will find someone who has problems - you can't build a seat that fits everyone - although the 22-way or 30-way multi-contour seats should come close.
  17. Not on the first floor facing the driveway. Garage and family room on that side and the family room has a 2 story fireplace and 2 story windows facing the back of the house. So no I can't see unless I'm sitting on the toilet in the upstairs master bath (backwards)......
  18. Bummer. My 2000 Lincoln LS had global open and close on all 4 windows and the moonroof. The purpose is to vent the car as you approach on a hot day and the ability to close the windows without getting in the car such as during an unexpected rainstorm or if you just forgot to close the wiindows at night. It's not a big deal but it can come in handy.
  19. Retired Ford employee. Around 4% below invoice.
