  1. If you like listening to local FM stations then don't waste your money. If you like listening to specific genres or artists or time periods without commercial interruptions no matter where you drive then give it a shot. When we trave we listen to the same stations as we do at home - mostly 70s and 80s music. There are some other benefits - weather maps, traffic data (with navigation).
  2. It's either the switch or the smart junction box. I don't know what the vsm is - maybe that's another word for the SJB.
  3. There is a separate manual for navigation. It's not in the regular manual. I found it on motorcraftservice.com -> owner guides.
  4. Did you try reading the navigation manual? Menu->Feedback->Navigation Guidance-> OFF
  5. With FWD I don't think there is any big difference between the 08, 09 and 10.
  6. I just get the cheap laptop from Dell. I spend too much time with computers at work.
  7. Definitely throttle body. Tell them you heard about a throttle body problem with the same exact symptoms and see what they say.
  8. It may work fine but you can get the same or better from a detailer for $100-$150 tops. Run away.
  9. There is no such thing as "selling dealer" with regard to ESP. The coverage is the same at any authorized Ford dealer.
  10. Also possible. But if you don't see any damage I wouldn't worry about it.
  11. If the actual window sticker says it came with Nav then all you need is the SD card. The dealer should have one from the last MFT upgrade. If you're still under the factory 3/36K warranty then Ford should take care of it if the dealer can't or won't. I think Ford actually extended the MFT warranty with the last upgrade so it may be covered longer than 3/36K. If it's out of warranty then it's strictly between you and the salesperson since you bought it used.
  12. What rwolson said. You need to have a route programmed to get the alerts - otherwise, how would it know which roads you were planning to use?
  13. Higher octane won't damage any engine but it also won't help most engines and is a waste of money. Some engines, like yours, will benefit from advanced timing when using premium yielding more power and better mpg. But it's probably not enough mpg improvement to make up for the higher cost of premium which is why Ford only recommends it for better performance when towing, etc.
  14. If a simple plug change could increase mpg the mfrs would have done it ages ago. Stay away from cross drilled rotors and just go with slotted if possible. Cross drilling can weaken the rotor and cause cracks if not done correctly. If you do go with them make sure they're high quality made in the USA.
  15. Sorry - got confused about 2.0L EB. The one on my new Fusion just lifts off - can't say for sure about the Edge but I think it's the same.
  16. It just pulls off. First time takes a little extra effort.
  17. It usually means a wheel sensor is misbehaving. Sometimes it clears itself.
  18. I'm still here for the near future. Never hurts to have a backup.
  19. So you got the message saying there was no key and you didn't think to check and make sure she brought it back with her? It should tell you that the key was missing when you turned it off and given you 20 seconds to restart it without the fob.
