  1. It's not necessary. Just press and hold the volume down button on the steering wheel and you will effectively mute the radio very quickly - virtually the same as having a separate mute button. Try it and you'll see.
  2. Thinly disguised concept. Replace the roof with a BAMR and the seats with MKZ seats (and probably ditch the rear console although it could be an option) and you have the production vehicle. Compare this to the Escape and you can anticipate what the next MKX will look like compared to the Edge. http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/52342-lincoln-mkc-concept-debuts-photos-and-video/http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/52342-lincoln-mkc-concept-debuts-photos-and-video/
  3. Some people have added window tint film to the sensor. I think someone found a small tinted plastic cone. It should work but it would be trial and error.
  4. My wife's Edge is White Platinum tri-coat. My Fusion is Tungsten grey. You decide.
  5. If they're OEM then they're chrome clad.
  6. It certainly could, but if that happened you would need a tow truck and maybe an ambulance.
  7. Exactly. Ford experimented with systems to tell whether it was the driver or the passenger but in the end decided using voice control was a better solution since it can be used by either one.
  8. And you're buying a new tire, wheel, control arm, etc.
  9. An ink pen? That sounds like a lot of clearance to me. Brembo recommends 3 mm or 1/8".
  10. I think the problem is they had to spend so much time just getting MFT to work they didn't have time for anything else like applink or the web browser, etc. Hopefully that's changed now.
  11. Welcome to the forum. May i suggest you use punctuation and some capital letters? I had to stop reading after the second line. It's very difficult to read.
  12. Better to let the dealer do it with a machine that sucks out the old fluid and introduces fresh fluid through the cooler lines. This way you change 95% of the old fluid including the torque converter. There is no need to change the filter. If it's gunked up then the tranny is already toast.
  13. I lost 2 mpg switching from oem michelins on my 06 Fusion to BFG super sports.
  14. Pretty sure the new head unit has to be programmed to the vehicle but I don't remember the details. Do a search here or on the web.
  15. I assume the switch sends a trigger to the SJB and there is logic in the SJB that determines when to turn off the signal. So no, there doesn't have to be a wire that's hot while the turn signal is flashing. In fact I'd bet against it. You'd probably have to rig up a circuit that monitored the turn signal and as soon as the turn signal was triggered it would turn off the DRLs and would then set a timer to turn them back on. Every time the turn signal flashes it would reset the timer. The timer would be set to a time longer than the interval between the signals so when the timer expired you would know that the signal had been turned off and you could turn the DRLs back on. Since the logic is all inside the SJB that's the only solution I can think of short of hacking the SJB.
  16. Must be a Canadian thing. Every Best Buy, Target and Staples in my area has 50 packs of blank CD-Rs for $10-$15.
  17. I don't control that - it's up to Robert Lane who owns the site. I'll pass on the suggestion.
  18. Having driven around for 3 years with a visor with a ragged seam showing I understand. The retrofit homelink worked great but I couldn't figure out how to get the cover off and back on without cutting it and I did not want to take it to an upholstery shop. I replaced the visor and went back to the clip on OEM opener.
  19. I guess it depends on how you treat it but I've had light colored leather interiors in my last 2 vehicles which I kept 6 and 7.5 years and my leather looks like new with minimal cleaning/treatment. My wife's last 4 vehicles are the same and they've been kept anywhere from 4 to 6 years.
  20. You're not really losing any more with a lease than if you bought the car and sold it after 3 years. Either way you're paying the first 3 years' depreciation. And it's easier to just turn in a leased vehicle and get a new one after 3 years if you decide you don't want to keep it.
  21. Theoretically buying a leased car will cost the same as buying it outright since your lease payments are based on the residual value. There could be a slight difference in interest rates and the incentives can be different which woud make one option slightly better than the other. The only other potential downside is you might be making payments longer with a lease and buy than if you just financed it up front, but the payments will be lower. I think it's a good idea if you're not sure you want to keep the car long term. I considered doing it myself.
