  1. Damn...should have read this thread again before taking pictures but hopefully it is the same on the drivers side. The pics below are of the passenger side shroud. The wife is out shopping and won't be back until late so if I remember I will take a look at the dirvers side. My guess is they will be the same.
  2. I'd still get the codes read....my other vehicle was having an occasional misfire with no CEL. When I read codes I found an intermittent O2 sensor issue and also was logging the misfire blocks to see if it was a single cylinder or not. Software like this can be very useful in finding your issues.
  3. Well so far mine has been more stable and we have phones connected but I agree the overall functionality is still very buggy. I have questioned fromt he beginning the choice of processor in the APIM. As I recall it is 400MHz which is the same as what is in my old portable GPS and it doesn't have to handle HVAC, voice recognition, radio, phone etc. I know they dumped some of the processing to the GPU but 400MHz is way underpowered. There are definitely still software bugs but I think a lot of the issues are because they are trying to write code around the hardware limitations.
  4. Did you ever try the update? Ours has been more stable with the upgrade but still has occasional reboots and other glitches but I have another service visit schedueld to see what they can do. I hope they can finally figure out what is causing the problems but if they can't I might be forced to pursue the same. Just not feeling the reliability of this vehicle out of warranty. But with that said I don't think I would go back to Ford and I'm surprised with all the troubles you had you did as well.
  5. I'll take a look tomorrow and see if I can snap a pic but it is dark so I doubt you'd see much

    WTH?

Yeah saw that and figured that was what the phone number was for...at least that is what I hope.

    WTH?

My buddy sent me this picture and I have to say I am pissed at him for not waiting to get a picture of the owner. Though there is a phone number on there if anyone want to call him. Seriously though, I have heard of people rolling their fenders for wider wheel/tire combos but what do you do for this....lock out the suspension?
  8. OK that makes more sense...so the $86 for music, travel link with traffic is ~6/mo so half price would have been another $36 plus $15 for some fee and some tax brings it close to 160.
  9. Out of curiosity...did you get the traffic too? Just wondering why I was quoted a higher price. I realize your price doesn't include their other fees but I thought that was only like 15 bucks.
  10. I had 55W 5k in my last ride..properly aimed in projectors you shouldn't have a problem with blinding on coming vehicles. I did find they were very bright, so much so I never used high beams. I had tons of light a useable distance down the road and a lot of spread on the sides looking for deer and bear. But with that said some do say they have issues with so much light up close that the eye adjusts and doesn't let you see long distances as well. I didn't really notice this but to be honest the roads by me are pretty twisty so you don't have long stretches of flat road to notice this effect.
  11. If you see an outside temp reading in the top center of the screen it isn't updated. If you just have a big digital clock, you are on the latest version.
  12. I had rec'd a letter from them stating I could get music services for half price ($86) plus some small fees. When I asked about the travel services they said I could also add those for half price but the total was going to be like $160 for the year. I ended up passing to see if they make a better offer. The travel features were nice but we rarely used them, still not sure the wife really knew all the features she had. But maybe in a few months they will offer up something better.
  13. Your description is a little different than the TSB but there is a known issue with a heat shield that causes a hooting sound when turning right only. Don't recall the number but certainly the dealer should know about it and be able to confirm if this is the same thing you are seeing.
  14. I don't know that people don't find it useful...just not worth the money. Most feel for the price Ford should have made it a retractable shade. There is one on Ebay that is less money and retractable but I think only one member bought it and they never posted pics so we really don't know how well it fits.
  15. Not necessarily the case. Many times this is true but from what I have read here some have had electrical issues becuase the power is pulsed not constant. So this can take a toll on the ballasts and over time they are more likely to fail. Also some have reported that the electronics of the vehicle have been damaged due to the in rush current required to ignite the bulbs. For the few bucks they cost I would error on the side of caution but that is up to the end user. As mentioned above the harness is a good idea since it will draw power directly from the battery. You don't need error eliminators or adaptor cables. Mounting brackets are up to you and how you want to install. And no you can't use that kit, it is the wrong bulb type for your vehicle.
  16. For slim kits: http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DDM-HID-Kit-Slim-Ballast-35W-or-55W For full size ballasts: http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/Apexcone-Raptor-HID-Kit As mentioned above go with 9006 kits and I would recommend the wiring harness as some have had issues with the electronics in the Edge.
  17. If you have a 2011 I believe you need a 9012 or 9006 kit. While the 9005 may work you may have to adjust the tabs. But if you do a search you will find a ton of posts on this subject. Lately it seems many members have gone with kits from DDM, not sure if they ship to Dubai though.
  18. Enjoy the time off with the family....I took a day this week to spend with my little guy and would love to be able to do a week.
  19. Never heard of that, but that seems crazy it isn't covered under warranty. I would check with your local dealer and see what they say. Often if you go to where you purchased it they can work for you to get things approved. At least that is what I have had some success with for other brands...not sure how it works with Ford.
  20. I did the last time I used it and they gave me some BS about being backed up. I think the first time they didn't want to help because the issues were MFT related and when I spoke to them they told me three weeks to get in. What was funny was when Ford corporate was working with me and the same dealer miraculously had an opening the next day. I guess it is time to just look for another dealer.
  21. Just wondering if anyone has had any luck using the Ford online service request? Twice now I have put in a request for service with my local dealer, I get an email confirmation saying I will receive a call in 24 hours but never hear anything. Last time they never called and this time it has been over a week. I really like the idea of this because I can explain the issues we are having and know that it is attached to the service records since I had one dealer who was notorious for not including things on the service report. Ended up biting me in the ass when the part totally failed right after the warranty and I had only one record of it being in rather than 5. Just don't know if it is this dealer or that this system just doesn't work.
  22. Good info...I requested a service through Ford's site last week and it indicated I would be contacted within a day to confirm. Four days later and no call, so I too may be looking for another source of service.
  23. I would be surprised if it were pinging or a bad cat, both should come with a loss of power which wasn't mentioned. Either way I hope for the OP's sake it is just a heat shield.
  24. If it sounds like a rattle the first place I would look is the catalytic converter heat shield. 76k and a couple years of use might be a little early for it to let loose but not uncommon if you live in an area they use a lot of salt in the winter.
