Wife just called complaining about rear brakes making loud noises when she uses the brakes. I knew the rear pads were near the end but was hoping they would hold out until the warmer months this spring. 91K miles on the OEM pads and rotors. Time to install new rear rotors and pads. Then the video. LOL great timing huh?

Old age. LOL

I will guarantee if you install the Autozone Duralast High carbon content rotors with the CMAX high ceramic content pads you will no longer hear brake squeal again and brake dust will disappear. Not to mention you will not have to replace those rotors or pads again for a very very long time. Metallic pads are just that metallic and they will make noise since it is metal on metal essentially and they will make noise.

I had a small problem with my 12 volt power plug in the back of the console of my edge for power access for the back passengers. This is how I repaired it using compressed air.

This is the more complete testing of the coils and has some interesting results when new coils are compared to the the old coils with 180,000 miles on them.

Due to job requirements the oil testing will occur at 300 hours or close to this number of hours. Just too busy to change the oil. No fear it should be good and the miles should be close to 15K miles by then.

ELM327 is garbage.

The styling is still trying to grow on me. Still on the fence.

Having owned the 1st gen edge and now the 1.5 I would say the 1.5 is the leader in many areas. The durability improvements are enhanced and the tech was added. The suspension was enhanced and lasting longer. Overall as a choice between the 1st and 1.5 I would go with the 1.5 gen over and over.

I would have done the WOT a long time ago. Living on the Edge. Change the oil and go for it.

In my past experiences with transfer and differentials the noise of whining in gears is not a good sign, but a symptom of pending failure.

The miles on the trip will roll over at 9999.9 I have not rolled the gallons, but I am sure it resets at 999.9 gallons

Actually the numbers for several have rolled over. The numbers are based on a reset from the last oil change. 11,353.7 miles 224:24 hrs So I am currently well past the oil life monitor reset also. I will test the oil at 250hrs and based on the testing decide to change it or go another 50 hours

LOL I have an Air filter question for you. :p
-
I will make one just for you. Or course it will involve multiple clicks on the pump handle got to top her off.

I decided to contact Circuitboardmedics and they are willing to look at your APIM on your 2011+ Ford Edge. The deal is all you have to do is pay shipping for them to perform and engineering analysis. 2. If they can not repair it no charge to you. 3. You pay shipping for return. 4. If they repair it you pay for the repair and if the repair does not result in a functioning APIM and they can not repair it. You will be refunded your money back. Based on their PCM repairs fees this is a much cheaper alternative to buying a new APIM.

Do I really need new rotors at 60k?
macbwt replied to normcloutier's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Glad the video helped. The screw in the rotor was a Phillips if I remember correctly. I threw it away so do not know. The low frequency dampers I believe were a 32 torx but I think I mention the size in the video. I am at about 80K miles on the AEM filter and still going. The filter minder has me at 50 percent. Thinking one day it may pop into the red. I use the Forscan app to monitor air flow of the MAF to verify I have no air flow issues. -
Now you tell me after like 1000 tanks of gas not to fill up past the 1st click.

No Red Illumination on AC "My Temp" (+) Button & Tight Volume Dial
macbwt replied to Mister-Edge's topic in 2011 Edge & MKX
You may have gummed up the button so it is not making contact. Only way to clean might be to remove the counsel and clean behind it. If it was my car. I would try using a soaking wet qtip and a can of compressed air to wet and blow dry and also push the button repeatedly Note I assume it lights up but am not entirely sure as I do not have that type of control panel. -
Do I really need new rotors at 60k?
macbwt replied to normcloutier's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
You have to remove the screw from the rears. I have never seen one on the fronts. The screw is only for the assembly line to hold the rotor in place on the rear. In my video you see me toss the screws. Never to be seen again. If you do not remove the screw you will not get the rotor off. Be liberal with the anti seize on the rotor caps where the wheel touches the rotor. You will appreciate it the next time you have to remove the wheels. I turn my rotors over the Army garage as the funds go back into the garage to help pay for the tools and equipment I use. Helps keep costs down. Going on all out on those rotors and pads. I just use the autozone duralast rotors and ceramic pads. Thankfully I generally only have to buy one set maybe two for the life of the Edge depending on how many miles I put on it. -
Middle East - does ford limit speed on the Edge?
macbwt replied to WWWPerfA_ZN0W's topic in 2013 Edge & MKX
Throw a set of Michelin Premier LTX's on and you have 148mph tires then you can floor it. It will never reach that speed.
