You might want to try Motorcraft OEM plugs before you jump to the PCM thing.
-
Removing the upper plenum would also provide more room.
-
A bit on how you can determine your brake booster issue and my experiences along with some other folks so I put this video together to cover some of the issues.

Had an issue with the fans not functioning yesterday and my Edge Engine Coolant Temp (ECT) started to climb from it's normal 196-198 degrees F to about 214 Degrees F. I was checking my Forscan and the PIDS when I was at idle and noticed the high temp. I got out and checked the fans and they were not functioning. I shut the engine off and proceeded to check the electrical connnections I removed the connections and plugs making sure to move and wiggle them a lot. The reconnected them by wiggling and moving them. Still no luck when I restarted. Forward about three hours and I drove it to the next location with out the temp getting higher than 180 degrees (short drive) I let it set for another 2-3 hours I drove it home without incident about 150 miles plus city traffic once I arrived home. I rechecked the fans and with the temperature being 41 degrees the fans were operating at about 18 percent power and the Edge was maintaining a ECT of about 196 under idle. Today I will again removed the electrical plugs and clean them, grease them up with Dielectric grease and reconnect them. Testing and running it this week in preparation for next weeks 1K miles of driving. Dirty connections? Did not look dirty but I am ordering a new Motorcraft fan (Dealer price 430.00 dollars not including tax) On line through amazon motorcraft OEM 230.00 dollars including shipping. And dealers wonder why they get called stealerships. 200 dollar markup

actuator is an electric motor. You moved it around and just enough to get it off the DEAD spot. It will work a while until it lands on the DEAD spot again then it will stop working.

The turbos are starting to show their age. This is a turbo failure and unfortunately is not a cheap repair. This has happened to another Edge owner and the only fix was replacement of the turbo.

The cause of the loss of oil pressure in my Opinion is the failure of the water pump as water compressed will react differently than oil does under hydraulic pressures. I am willing to say your water pump may have failed. Simple check of the oil will determine the failure. The throttle body in no way has anything to do with the coolant. Closed systems and they do not interact physically. Small amounts of oil in the intake and throttle body and Plenum have been documented. This may be a larger issue for an Edge that does short trips rather than long trips as it would be burned off with a long drive.
-
Low oil pressure light just means the Key on Engine not running. Thus a low oil pressure light. Normal response by the system when engine dies. TB is at issue most likely in the Electronics not the physical part. Change the TB and reprogram the PCM with updated programing. By the way in reference to the previous post as Throttle Body does not cost 1K dollars. Highly over exaggerated figure unless multiple other issues were also addressed.

No Pan to remove. No "filter" as most think of filters just a screen. Screen replacement is considered disassembly in the ford service manual I believe. Just change the fluid about every 50-60K and you should be good for at least 300K miles.
-
90K miles is recommended.

I have two Edge's that I have to change plugs in at the same time. Yeah I can do a lot of other things with 600 Dollars.

Thought I would review the recall via video for folks to watch. I plan on going over more TSB's and recalls via video in the future.

First 0W20 AMSOIL run is finished I have sent off the samples to see if 207 Hours is good or can I go further? Either way I performed a true DIY oil change in my driveway for the first time in a long time. Much easier with a lift is all I can say. I also dissected the AMSOIL oil filter to check it out for build and other items of interest.

Apparently the retirement plans are moving to 401K's and the older folks will be phased out of the system in the future once they are all dead as it were.
-
May I suggest checking after it has run and warmed up. I knew someone would catch that.

Rainx wiper blades
macbwt replied to enigma-2's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
I have not purchased a wiper that is worth anything other than six months. New wipers for winter and new wiper for spring. I do not buy cheap wipers as they tend to chatter and fail faster. 20 buck or more and you are good for a bit. Look for sales. -
I would say this is a warranty dealer issue. Take it to them.

I drive 60K miles a year and have accumulated over 450K in the Edge's I drive. Tires are purchased on a yearly basis. This is my current choices. Just my actual experience.
-
A nice looking set of 19 inch wheels will provide you with great acceleration and extended mechanical life of your suspension and other components. Cheaper tires and wheels and better MPG's!!
-
Might add also it will affect your acceleration as larger wheel require more HP simple math will show you this.

I was surprised to discover my Emissions Canister Purge Valve Solenoid was failing. I was making a video on the replacement of the valve and wrongfully assumed mine was functioning properly then I discovered by testing it that the valve was in the process of failing. Good thing I had a new one on hand ready to go. Now I have to go check my other Edge and make sure it is functioning properly.

Total oil is a good oil I used it in my 2008 Edge and ran it to 285,000 miles. With all that work some dirt may have entered the system and clogged the VCT. Was the cam phaser replaced? There have been some instances of cam phasers failing. Unfortunately this means another tear down may be needed.
