  1. This is a great battery and plenty of power.
  2. The theory is the defrost can heat the glass and if the glass is real cold and the heat strips are uneven in heating the glass this can cause the glass to expand to quickly in one spot and cause the window to fracture. Just a theory, but it sure makes sense.
  3. This is the kit I bought and installed pretty simple. I did not need the DRL's so did not install the harness included with the kit. They have been great and no problems.
  4. Time to install a new drivers side window last really cold weather the window I installed cracked up front near the mirror. Totally different location than the last crack. SMH should of went with the OEM window instead of the cheaper Chinese glass.
  5. I upgraded to HID and would not even consider returning to halogens. The rain has never been and issue at night nor has the snow with the HID's
  6. And to think the cheap Chinese window I installed broke already. Time to go OEM this time.
  7. Were any of you using rear defrost just before or during this breakage?
  8. My 2008 ran about 21 and on a really good day 23 (rarely) All highway driving it was FWD. The olds you mentioned in comparison is about 600 lbs lighter and much lower in profile so it stands to reason it would get a bit better mileage per gallon. Some things to do. Change trans fluid, change oil install new plugs if needed and maybe even new coils since the 2008 tends to have issues with coils. Tires should be 17 inch (OEM) standard size but may be larger depending on trim level etc. Proper inflation and good quality tires low rolling resistant tires may help a bit. Check the brakes to make sure nothing is hanging up or creating extra drag. Change to a top tier gas (look up Top Tier Gas on the interweb) then start using that as your main source and you will see a difference. I see it all the time when I have to fill up at a non top tier gas station. Would not hurt to toss a bottle of techron in the tank too.
  9. I believe both of my 2011's do not have sound screen and they are both limited's sort of a hit and miss on this issue with the 2011 models.
  10. Some info to work towards a recall if enough pressure is gently applied.
  11. Trying to keep the water pump happy by letting it drink from a fresh stream of coolant often.
  12. This may help you a bit even though it is a 2011 Edge. Personally I take my Edge to the shop to have the transmission fluid changed (less hassle and the price is pretty reasonable) My ole 2008 ran a long time with some long miles.
  13. Change the oil and go with an oil filter that is at least 25 micron or better filtration and a full synthetic 5W20 chose the type made from natural gas to get the best oil. Run that after resetting the DTC's If this does not correct the issue then new VCT's are in order as you can not with certainty clean them for re-use.
  14. You might have 92K on the plugs but then (think about it) how many hours are idling engine hours. I would say you are overdue.
  15. If it was my Edge I would have the brake system fluid completely replaced with new fluid then find an isolated road and perform some heavy braking repeatedly for several runs then even run another full brake fluid replacement. This may and I say may correct the problem. The question here is have you ever had the brake fluid completely replaced in your Edge? Maintenance means replacing all fluids.
  16. As a rule machine the rotors and put new pads on. You should be fine for about another 60K then new rotors and pads.
  17. The 2011 plus 3.5 PCV is not as simple as it used to be this is how you get the two parts together.
  18. MS tires or snow tires. Which will get you down the road or up the hill?
  19. Collision RADAR was blocked and I received a warning. Easy fix.
  20. I have been getting a ping/clunk from my 2011 Ford Edge on the right front. I am going to see if I can use my gopro and other cameras to isolate the clunk. I am leaning towards the axle outer cv joint or a wheel bearing that might be the problem. Hopefully the video will help isolate the noise.
  21. I power spray my engine and frankly have removed the foam covers to allow for the engine to cool better and keep the coils from overheating to extend their lives. Spraying it down without direct pressure works great. Never had a problem keep the wand back and have at it.
  22. Would not worry about causing issue with the electronics. Just install a new battery.
