  1. could have just been oil from the PCV that also was gathered up on the intake valves I see this on the 3.5 when I use the endoscopic camera to check the engine. Most likely scenario.
  2. If they were able to align the front and rear with out issue then the parts may be in good shape. However I have had alignments performed with bad ball joints on the lower control arms and the shop said everything is good. Trust but verify the ball joints and check the bushings in the lower control arms for deformations or cracks. Check swaybar links for broken links and sway bar bushings. Struts and shocks are pretty much worn out by 100K miles so changing them will provide a better platform for alignment.
  3. Sitting that long things get seated in and have to be worked free again. No whirring sounds etc. then you just need to use the Edge. Sitting and not running will ruin any vehicle.
  4. Clean it up with an acid neutralizer then coat everything with dielectric grease. best bet is to go with an AGM battery and not have to deal with the acid corrosion issues.
  5. Turbo. Blow Off Valve. AC Venting. Wonder if there is a connection? Just thinking of the whole 360 degree thing.
  6. Interesting. Hope it works. I have two 2011's and not experiencing much of any oil issues. I have a little bit of oil in one Edge but it is far easier to just wipe the oil out and clean it with MAF cleaner and be done with it.
  7. Nothing to grease all sealed. Until you start replacing parts with grease fittings.

    2007 motor removal

I believe you will discover the tolerances to remove just the engine are too tight.
  9. Most likely beyond the locksmith scope. You are re-programing the system.
  10. It can be accomplished both ways. More of a preference as to which will work better for your situation. Dropping the frame requires more lift height of the vehicle where coming from the top the Edge would be on the ground. Your preference and setup etc. will be the determining factor.

    2007 motor removal

Top. Much easier to remove if you remove the entire front end radiator, condenser, frame, bumper cover etc. plenty of room to work and pull it out.
  12. Is the BAMR the same system in the 2nd Gen Edge as the previous versions?
  13. I have at times hit the lever all the way to M and took off and soon realized my mistake.
  14. 180,000 mile tune up approaching. I will be replacing the coils, PCV and breather tube connectors, spark plugs, Upstream and down stream O2 sensors, Intake upper plenum gasket, TB gasket and cleaning everything as I go. So far status on the AEM air filter is approaching 80,000 miles and untouched. This means I have never cleaned or replaced the AEM filter. No noted affects and the Filter Minder is still at 50 percent (yellow zone)
  15. And the dealer did not notice it. Yeah right.
  16. Brake booster failure once repaired is good. Throttle body replacement takes about 5 minutes and a 8 mm socket. The sync APIM does have a recall on it for free replacement not exactly sure if your model year is covered or not. Worth a shot to check under the CSP with Ford. Last thing is the shift to park a bit more of a pain but once repair most have had no further complaints.
  17. Ultimately good ole straight highway driving is the best for your engine. Keeps it nice and clean.
  18. I just run the tire pressure recommended on the door. Use snow tires so air pressure will not make a real difference in how they work and gain traction.
